My cousin recommended this spot for my friend and I on our last night in Hong Kong. And definitely can say that it did not disappoint. The cocktails were absolutely beautiful and delicious! The decor is a bit confused when we went (it was around Christmas, so there were some Christmas decorations scattered around). But I appreciate that they're sticking to the doctor's office/apothecary theming. Two things I'll note: 1) In true speakeasy style, this spot was very hard to find haha. I say do not trust the Google Maps location (it is incredibly off) and be sure to leverage the directories in the Landmark Atrium mall. 2) It can get distractingly loud. There was a live performer when we went, and while she was wonderful, the sound system needed some adjusting. When the sound system was settled, it can of course get very loud when it gets busy and people get drunker haha. That being said, the drinks are absolutely worth the trip. Would definitely consider stopping by again if/when I'm in Hong Kong again.

Doctor's Orders!

Oh man, I love Dr. Fern's! As I was searching for hidden speakeasies in Hong Kong, Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour showed up and I was excited ever since! If you love Gin, this is the spot for you! Decided to venture off to this speakeasy with my girlfriend on a Friday night after dinner. She has never been to any speakeasies before in HK, so the experience would be a nice surprise! We took MTR to Central and exited to The Landmark 置地廣場 (Exit G). Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour is located in the basement. It wasn't hard to find because there were already people hovering around the secret door. The place was filled with people, reservation is highly recommended. The decor was lovely with floral, greens and tubes hanging everywhere. Staff were in lab coats, taking your "prescription" orders lol. We couldn't get seats at first, but we can still order at one of those standing tables while we waited for seats to open. I learned to love Gin over the past few years. They don't carry the one I like on the extensive Gin menu but I am okay with trying out new ones! The Whitley Neill Quince Gin with Bickford's Tonic was one of my favourite cocktails at Dr. Fern's. It was garnished with green apple and orange peel, and it was light, sweet and delicious! I also heard they have brunch/high tea as well. I would definitely check it out next time I come back to HK. Till next time!

One of the best Bar tenders in HK. This man will make Perfect drinks with such balanced taste that you won't want to stop having them.

Perfectly made drinks and a welcome feeling is what you will get from this HK bar. Definitely go to Dr. Ferns is you want amazing drinks and a great bartender who definitely knows his stuff.

A speakeasy for Gin lovers! The entrance here is hidden in the hallway with a side door that looks like an office. Thanks so much for the tips of fellow Yelpers so I found this place without too much trouble. Doctor's Orders that I should drink some gin. I am all for that! You can pick what's on the menu that gives you full description of the taste profile or you can get the Doctor's Prescription ($MP). The staff is quite helpful. But I always a little confused when they speaks English to me. I wondering if I still in Hong Kong? :) Our party of 2 dropped in on a weekday afternoon without a reservation. Just in case you coming in the evening, a reservation is highly recommended. A little gimmicky one would say with the staff wearing all white lab clothes? But I like the reference since Gin was sold in pharmacies and used to treat such medical problems as kidney ailments, lumbago, stomach ailments, gallstones, and gout. Cheers to good health!

This is why Hong Kong is a great place to visit, great food and great bars.....Dr. Fern's is hidden in plain sight in Landmark. When you're on Pedder street and see stairs to the MTR it's on your right hand side, across from the LV store. There are two doors, the door to go in is on the right that says "Dr. Fern's Gin Parlour, Advanced non-surgical treatments for men and women and everything in between. " It looks like a door for little people because the doorknob is so low but open it up and you will see what looks like a lovely sitting room inside with wallpaper, red couches and ottomans. After we sat down we were approached by a woman in a lab coat and asked us what our ailments were and "prescribed" some gin drinks for us - doctor's orders! I had the Bloom gin and Fentiman's tonic with strawberry garnish. It was crisp and clean tasting and I loved the strawberry garnish. The crowd here was chill and it was quiet enough so I could have conversations with my friends. I would love to come here again one of these days sans alcohol and try their afternoon tea set.

Look for the office!
Renni G.

Yea, Thank God we have good friends who know how to take care of us when we're in need of help! Enter in Dr. Fern. Supposedly it's the cure all for our ailments! Or that is what we were told! Ha! By now you know that is no place for getting any medicine unless it has gin in it! Hard to believe this adorable little, unsuspecting bar is right in the basement floor of a huge shopping mall inside the Landmark Atrium! Hubby and I might sound like professed alcoholics but we really do like our wine, bourbon and oh yea, gin too! I think the term is "refined alcohol connoisseurs" but you can call it what you want! Our friends know where to take us even when we're already feeling good! The front façade is like "real" old fashioned Doctor's office with it's "fake" office doors! But when you walk in to this small bar, you are immediately greeted by men and women in white coats! Welcome to the Gin Parlour! The doctor will fix your ailment if you tell him what you like in your drink! Those who know what they want can directly order and it doesn't have to be gin! They are a full service bar as well! I loved their "prescription" menu offering all their specialty drinks other beverages too. We were so lucky that our entire party of 8 fit without a reservation. (Not recommended!) But we got there early enough so it was okay. I'd highly recommend reservations if coming after 10p. There's a few seats at the bar and little seating areas but for a large group like ours it could have been more standing than sitting. It'd definitely a fun and unique place that any gin drinker would appreciate and enjoy! Even those who aren't Gin fans will find something to fix their thirst! The "doctors" will cure your "ailment" or maybe give you an ailment!

What a super interesting bar. If you're a Gin drinker , this bar should be one of your global Mecca's !!! Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly bartenders. I was so impressed with the Gin selection and Tonic selection was awesome !!! Can't wait to come back.

Gins behind the bar

This speakeasy is really easy to pass by, but considering it's central location in Landmark Atrium the secret is out amongst the suits that frequent the area. You'll most likely catch a glimpse of folks coming in and out during the evenings. The hostess was very kind to us when we arrived; the place was already full yet she still took the time to explain the concept to us and was apologetic that there were no tables at the moment. There's a dizzying array of gins behind the bar, and if you have an opportunity to check it out I'm pretty sure you'll spot some bottles that you've never heard of. Though gin-based drinks are the best to order here, the bartenders can make other non-gin cocktails as well: I saw someone order a Manhattan, so there's that. If you can't make it in the evening but would still like to see the space, stop by in the early afternoon for coffee. Hey, they gotta make the rent somehow!

I really wish I can love this bar and give it a high rating but I felt the experience was very ... average. Comparing this to other "speakeasy" bars in Hong Kong I would not come back. I love love loveeee gin and while Dr. Fern's does boast a collection of many types of gins, I felt the menu was very overwhelming and though the bartender was knowledgeable and let us smell a few different bottles of gin, he wasn't very helpful in choosing one. I would maybe stick to a cocktail on the boards around the bar as we did a "gin and tonic" where you pick your gin and your tonic. They ran out of my first choice so I chose a different one. The bartender literally poured some gin in a glass with a long stick of ice that they hand cut then proceed to pour a bottle of tonic water into it and then just threw on some garnish at the top. I was baffled at how easy it was to make and how can they charge a premium for it. $130 hkd for this Eden's love gin I chose from Scotland. There is a 10% service charge as well. They also give you some bbq chips when you're at the bar. There were some seats available at the bar and it was a Tuesday evening at 1030pm. Some chairs were available if you wanted to sit at a table as well. The bathroom has insect sounds playing so that was kind of cool. Nice to experience but I won't go back.

I didn't really get the full experience considering the weather was bad so the terrace wasn't opened for me to check out. I sat at the bar and I remember going there right when it opened (cause I had dinner plans). I had like two cocktails(they had a pretty cool menu that is based on "elements") of their 5 signature drinks. If I don't get lazy, I'll go back to my HD and upload those photos. If I remember correctly, I got "metal" and "fire." There was a gimmick for the "fire" one where they lit it up(it's like a one sec thing haha). Regardless the drinks weren't bad and I had a dessert cause I wanted to try their food. I don't think it's on the menu right now(I checked website) but it was actually pretty decent. The bartender was very nice and he only speaks english(which is fine obviously, he mentioned that most people here prob speaks english in case you can't speak chinese/cantonese at all) I wouldn't mind coming back for the vibes, moreso because I want to see the terrace. It's just that I'm sure there are bars that are much cheaper for around the same taste.

My husband and I went with pretty high expectations, and honestly, it didn't quite live up to the hype. Now let me be clear, the views? Absolutely unmatched. The panoramic city and harbor views are what truly make this place special. And aesthetically, it's definitely Instagram-worthy. But outside of the scenery, everything else fell a bit short. The food and drinks were pretty basic, especially for a spot with such a luxe reputation. One thing I did appreciate was the service and hospitality. It was my husband's birthday, and they kindly gave both of us complimentary shots that tasted like wine, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, I'd say come for the views and experience, but maybe lower your expectations when it comes to the food and cocktails.

We decided to check out The Sky Bar. It is located on the 13th floor, and overlooks other restaurants and shops within the mall. So, don't expect an actual "sky" view. The Sky Bar offers a variety of cocktails and mocktails, but limited beers and wines for their All You Can Drink menu. However, it is still a steal! I ordered all of their cocktails, and my favorite was the Nothing (vodka, coconut liqueur, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, lemon juice). My boyfriend ordered rounds of their beer and wine, which were okay. We also ordered the Crispy Calamari Rings with Wasabi Mayo to go with our beverages. Again, it was just okay. It did the job, but nothing spectacular or memorable. I wouldn't recommend it. Lastly, service was extremely slow, especially for having no other customers in the restaurant. It was a bit frustrating consistently trying to find staff members. By no means is this a go-to place, but if you are already in the area and want a place to sit and chill, The Sky Bar is an option, especially for their All You Can Drink menu.

It's not a good place for pre-drinks before hitting LKF, nor is it good for a late drinking night as I live on Hong Kong Island. Every Wednesday, WOOBAR has an incredibly good deal priced at $278 per person, including free flow of wine and cheese from 8pm to 10:30pm. You can choose from rosé, white, red, sparkling and more. I usually start my night with a glass of sparkling rosé, which is sweet and appetizing. I like having my wine with nibbles from their cheese and charcuterie selections.
