It is clear that customer satisfaction couldn't be further from the top of Frank's Auto Collision's priority list. I had an appointment to bring my truck in on a Saturday and if you look at their website or listen to their voicemail recording, their hours of operation on Saturday are 8-12. I showed up at 8 and waited until 10:15 and no one from Frank's ever came to open up. Because I could not call anyone I was forced to take my truck and drive home. I called the next week to reschedule and spoke with Sheri/Cheri (spelling?) at the front desk. I explained to her what happened and told her I wanted to reschedule as well as figure out what Frank's wanted to do in order to rectify the situation. She told me she had no idea what they could do and began getting extremely defensive. I told her I would like them to take money off the total cost and she immediately snapped and told me that wasn't possible. According to Sheri it wasn't their fault my appointment was dropped as the gentleman who scheduled the appointment had quit 2 weeks earlier. I explained that the fact that one of their employees quit does not absolve their responsibility to their customers. She told me they couldn't do anything and that she would have the manager, Jeremy, call me back that day. I waited until right before they closed and had not received a call so I called back. This time I spoke to a different receptionist who was friendly and wanted to help, but Jeremy had left for the day so I left another message for him to call me first thing the next morning. Next day: no phone call. I called in the afternoon and spoke to Sheri again. She immediately became combative and hostile and told me Jeremy wasn't in and that he would call me back. At no point did she reassure me nor apologize for the wait. I was completely helpless at this point and felt like there was nothing I could do. Cheri put me on the phone with another gentleman (not Jeremy) in an attempt to appease me (I was getting considerably frustrated talking with Sheri). The gentleman who I spoke to after was not combative and kept his cool the entire time I explained to him my frustration. However, at no point did he apologize or offer some sort of action to help right the wrong. He told me missed appointments, especially on Saturdays, is business as usual at Frank's and that they simply reschedule those appointments: an utterly absurd business model! Not only do they give their customers zero warnings about cancellations, they don't reach out to apologize for or fix the situation. They simply expect the customer to contact and coordinate with them another time to bring in their vehicle. He also assured me Jeremy was aware of the situation and had chosen not to reach out to me. Needless to say, I am taking my business elsewhere. I am not an employee of Frank's and have no obligation to "work" for them. If customer service is something you value then I highly encourage to you take your vehicle to another establishment. read more

I was so sad because I run into someone in a parking lot, nothing big but it was my first accident, so I was very upset and worried. This auto body shop is by far the worst all around. My "new" car was rear ended a couple years ago. It was such a hard impact it pushed me into the car in front of me. Airbag went off & front & back of my car was damaged. The car that hit me was a total loss. Mine should have been too, but because the person that hit me had Mercury Ins (which had an office inside Franks) they underestimated my damage & decided to fix it. They had my car for over 5 months! When I got it back, there was a space on one side between my hood & fender that I could put my hand through !!! There are far too many things that were wrong with it when I got it back to list here. I basically had to take my car back to them at least 3 times. The last time was 1 year later, when all the paint started to bubble & chip where they replaced the bumper. To this day the paint is STILL bubbling & chipped again! I refuse to go back to have them fix it, even though they say it's a "lifetime warranty." It will probably take me a lifetime to keep having them fix their crappy work. Based on the awful cosmetic work they did to the car, who knows if my seat belt they replaced, or airbag was done properly? I've NEVER written a yelp review in my life, but just had to warn others. I don't know how they are still in business. read more

If your insurance company tries to send you to another shop request franks for your auto repair, you can trust them to do the same job at a competitive if not better price and its always top notch quality work. He also does a great job on the paint jobs. He just matched a flat black truck and I can tell there is a significant difference between my original paint job and the new one. Outstanding Customer Service! A real pleasure to deal with! It's not fun when your car is damaged in an accident, especially when it's not your fault. I stopped into this shop to see if I could get an estimate and was greeted by friendly and considerate staff. Mauricio is truly a professional and addressed every concern I had and offered a detailed estimate for proposed work. My insurance company made me get estimates at another location, but I chose to bring my truck (Ford F150) into Frank's because of the people and personal commitment they made to me to get the job done right. I was completely satisfied! They handled every detail possible with the insurance company. When something needed to be addressed they handled it. They made a potentially painful process, quick and easy. They even handled the rental car return for me. Attention to detail! When my truck was finished, it looked brand new. I was really happy and even then Mauricio noticed a couple of things he thought they could improve and had them touched up. Poor customer service High prices Arrogant and rude to us NOT Recommended. We wanted to do business here and support the locals, but they treated us poorly. Frank's quote for collision repair was 25% higher than other shops here in San Clemente. Frank's demanded a cash fee upfront to perform the estimate, then claimed they never collected the fee when we said their quote was too high/ not competitive with two other quotes we got. Frank's told us the other quotes were "no good". Frank's was wrong and they lost our business. We took the car across town to San Clemente Auto Collision. They gave us a free estimate, were 25% cheaper, completed the repair on schedule in one week and did a fantastic job- the car looks factory perfect. read more

He was straightforward and honest and a pleasure to do business with. My car was in the shop for 2 days, very quick work with the utmost attention to detail. I wanted to give a quick review after going to Franks auto collision for 2 accidents on My 2011 WRX. I am very particular when it comes to my car and neither of the accidents were my fault. I told Jeremy how meticulous I am about my car. Both times I had no complaints and he did a great job getting my car back . Franks did an amazing job with my black Cadillac ATS. I was worried at first because its black, a caddi, and the damage was on the body line of the rear passenger door but they made it look like nothing ever happened. Customer Service could not be any better! We have been there three times, initially because of an accident and it was the only body shop in the area that our insurance company used. From beginning to end, Jeremy always communicated the progress of our repair, almost daily! Even though the repair took an extra day, due to a delay in the delivery of a part from the car manufacturer, Jeremy made sure to let us know, even calling us after hours. We were so suprised by the communication and it left such a good impression. The job was excellent, our car looked as good as new! The second time we went in, Jeremy recognized us and remembered our last name and quickly greeted us to find out what we needed. Again, the repair and communication were excellent. A year later, our windshield had a chip, we called Jeremy who recommended someone who could come out to our house to repair/replace the windshield. Six months later (today) when a part of the windshield moulding came loose, we took it to Frank's; Jeremy acknowledged us, even though he was on the phone, while another employee greeted us and offered to help. As soon as Jeremy was off the phone, he took over and let the other employee know that we were returning customers. The windshield repairman that he recommended happened to be there and a half hour later, our molding was repaired (instead of ordering a new piece) and looking like new. Everyone we've encountered at Frank's has been friendly and helpful, but Jeremy goes above and beyond to take care of the customer - so refreshing in this day and age! The repairs have always met or exceeded our expectations. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. We have never been disappointed with Frank's. Did a pretty good job on the repairs. Not so great on communication. Kept promising completion "tomorrow", which turned out to be about another week and got frustrating. When the car was finally delivered the trunk didn't close right and was still dripping with water because apparently the 30 minutes we were waiting inside we being used to wash and finish the car. Yes it is me again.. My car threw a belt (2002 BMW 330 convert) on the freeway, 9pm Thursday-- this sucks.. but hey I am here writing a review of my car repair. Got it towed to Franks, at night, they were closed... threw the keys in the door with a note-- Belt broke please fix it. Got a call in the morning, the water pump broke and that is what snapped the belt. Got the quote and it was fair (nothing is wal-mart priced with this car). They said it would be done today (Friday). Guess when they called me to say it was ready?? Bet your thinking-- auto repair, on a friday, from a note blah blah blah.. .THE CAR WAS DONE BY 3 PM annnnnnnnnd they picked my wife up at the house to pick up the car! I didn't have the greatest experience here. I read all the reviews and it seemed people loved them, so after a huge piece of metal hit my brand new car, poked a hole in the bumper and cracked my windshield, I took my car to Frank's for repair. Everyone was super nice, I was able to leave my car for a few days and all was good. Well a few days went by and no call from them, so I checked in and they had not gotten all of the parts and hadn't even started on my car. I was dealing with Justin. I was not happy, but was told Jeremy would give me a call and we would get it all worked out. So 5 days later I was told my car was done. I went to pick it up and the windshield was still cracked, they had not even touched it. Where was the quality control person who looked my car over before they called me. Again I spoke to Jeremy, and he apologized and said he personally would look after my car. So another 3 days without a car and the windshield was finally fixed. Had to go back again, because the windshield was not put in right, so it was a very frustrating experience. I do have to say, Jeremy is adorable, and he was always apologetic and nice, but I'm not sure I would take my car there again for repairs. :( read more

Well they fixed my truck but I will not be taking my truck back to them. Very unimpressed with the quality of work. Back story, someone tried to break into my truck in Laguna beach scratched the paint and the driver side glass, ripped the wiring to the horn out and punched the lock on the door. Took it to franks with high hopes after reading reviews. They repainted the door, replaced the glass, replaced the lock and fixed the horn. The day I pick it up I noticed right out of the gate the truck was still dirty on the inside from their repairs, they left a knick in the handle on the door that was supposed to be repaired. They didn't even fix the horn. I had tested it before I left and I told them and they fixed it promptly. My biggest complaint is the UNGODLY swirl marks left in the paint from the "professional detail" they give you before you get your vehicle back. I know how to detail cars I've been doing it for a while and I know that the sun reveals all, and sure enough this morning I go out side to check the paint (I picked my truck up at dusk after work last night) and there are nasty swirl marks from them trying to wax my truck. Looks like they let some untrained kid off the street wax it. I will be fixing it myself, I will add a picture when I'm finished with it. So if you want your car fixed take it here if you want your car fixed right and to look right take it else where! Like I said I will not be taking any of my vehicles back here. read more

After smashing the side of my truck in from the front all the way to the back I was referred to franks by my aaa insurance. Not knowing what to expect or how this process really works I called franks to schedule the estimate for repair. The woman I spoke with answered all my questions with patience and was very pleasant to talk to. When I arrived for my estimate I was greeted by Justin who did an incredible job explaining how the process works as well as answered all of my questions regarding my truck and what to expect as a finished result. My truck is my baby so this was very important to me. Justin made me feel comfortable knowing that my truck was in good hands. I received updates on my truck during the process and all work was completed in a timely manner. The best part of the whole experience though was when I picked up my truck and I swear it was better than before I crashed it. They did an outstanding job on the repair. I incurred increased rental car expenses and was inconvenienced. Phone calls went unreturned and I initiated all contact. The support staff was unhelpful. What can you say about Frank's; long time family run business that treats you like family; Jeremy is always super-friendly, respectful, professional and efficient. He and Frank's understands 'service,' which has otherwise just become a four letter word. Jeremy personally took my vehicle, did my repairs; came right in on his estimate (which he prepared and delivered within a few minutes) and returned my car to me clean and detailed. I didn't even ask for this extra service, but that's what you get at Frank's. It's as if Jeremy and his staff treat each vehicle as if they were their own, or their family members'. And it shows. I have regularly referred to Frank's and am now a customer as well; and the feedback is the same every time: Frank's and Jeremy are as 'good as it gets.' My insurance has sent my car to Frank's twice and both times I experienced poor service. It took forever! 2 months or more to get my car back each time! I had to take my car back each time because something was not right. The second, more recent time was because they installed the wrong part in the steering wheel and they said they would order the part, then after a month and a half I still hadn't heard back from them. My father called and apparently they had a change of employees and no one communicated my need. Very poor communication and customer satisfaction at Franks. HOWEVER! Corey, who works for an outside company was who they hired to install the part, he was AMAZING! He has a mobile company and went down to San Clemente to pick up the part and met me in Laguna Niguel to install the part in a parking lot of my choosing. He was phenomenal, very thorough. He was great with communication and contacted me in less than a day after the part FINALLY came in. He helped me set up my bluetooth after installing the part and kept me in the loop during the whole process. Franks needs to work on improving their customer service and organization, but Corey, who works for his own mobile company, was fabulous! read more

I live just up the street from this place so I decided to go in and get a quote for a large dent in my door. I walking in and the woman and the guy in the lobby were all smiles. "Hello, is this for insurance?" She asked. I said "No" and I have never seen to peoples demeanor change so quickly, "Oh, I don't really have time to do an inspection right now". She asks the other guy in the lobby/office, " Do you have time to do an inspection?", "Uh, no I have someone coming for an inspection in an hour I have to get ready for.". What!? An hour. Does it take you an hour to clip an inspection form to your clipboard? There were no other customers there. They were literally just sitting there chatting away about nothing when I came in. It was VERY clear they did not want my business if I wasn't going to let them gauge my insurance company.
