They were helping her with kindness, just like they would do for their grandmother. I was answering questions as a new customer when the phone rang. She answered the phone and asked them to hold on while continuing to helping me. Then soon after, one worker came out from back and asked her to help the person on the phone, and she took the tablet to continue filling out the form for me. They work together to provide the best possible service for all their customers. When I was selecting a frame for my glasses, one lady helped me find the frame I was looking for. I brought this problem to two different eye doctors, who all swore that it's some defect with the lens and that the lens I buy from THEM wouldn't do it. Yeah right... So when I walked into More Eyecare and mentioned this problem, Irving had an answer for me right away.* The customer service here was above and beyond amazing. Irving was the one who walked me around and this guy is SO willing to take the time to discuss frames and lenses and anything else about eyes with you. He really knows his stuff and is happy to make recommendations and keep things within a certain price range. So... I walked in thinking of only ordering a pair of lenses for my current frame. I walked out having bought the lens PLUS three pairs of sunglasses.** Although I was fine with the prior shape of my lens (I have a frameless, so the shape can differ), Irving went out of his way to suggest frames that will better job of complementing my face. He even went so far as to cut a sample pair of lens for me at half prescription so that I could see how it looked. Of course, this new shape looked better, and I was thrilled with it. Once we were set on the shape, hubby and I headed to the nearby mall while Irving went to cut the real lens. They then spent almost an hour helping me adjust the fit and bend of my glasses. As for the decor - It's not a huge store, but there are plenty of chairs, and a large comfy leather sofa in the middle of the room. There are two back rooms, both with sinks and a small tray of contact lens fluid and free contact lens containers for if you need to take them out, rinse them, or anything else. When I started to use the already opened contact lens cleaning fluid (which was close to empty), Irving said I didn't need to use that one and then he gave me a new unopened box of contact cleaning fluid that I could use there and then take home. The store has been quite busy on the weekends that I've been there, but no customer service is ever sacrificed. Chung, who is the owner of the store also works there and he's a bit more quiet and doesn't talk as much, but he knows his stuff just as well. This place is not open on Sundays, but there is another More Eyecare in Ridgewood*** that is open on Sundays. I've seen lots of people just walk in and ask to have some small aspect of their glasses/sunglasses fixed. I don't believe that each pair was bought from this store, but it doesn't matter to Irving and Chung. They are happy to help and are great at building a relationship with their customers and any potential customers that walk into the store. Lastly - Irving sold me on this new type of protective coating for my glasses that is dust and fingerprint resistant. I was hesitant because it costs about $75 more, but it was SO worth it! less cleaning, less smudges, I can touch my lens w/ my finger and not get prints. AMAZING. Also, if you have some discounts with your insurance, the price difference drops a bit too. 2 year warranty on the coating so if anything happens**** I can just bring it back to More Eyecare and they'll make me a new pair of lens. With this kind of customer service, I don't doubt that the procedure will be a breeze, should it be necessary. Lastly - depending on what you get and how many things you buy, there may be some room for negotiation on some of the prices. It must always be cold and must be cleaned w/ a nice paper towel thingy. Don't use the soft cloths they give you with your glasses for dust. Only use those for finger prints or smudges because the dust will collect in the cloth and cause scratching the next time it's used.

Dr. Cauchard solved my blurry vision when other doctors couldn't…read more After suffering from unexplained blurry vision for years and finding no help despite visiting a long list of NYC eye doctors, neurologists, and other medical specialists I was finally referred by a friend to optometrist Dr. Ron Cauchard in NJ. I was able to get an appointment without a long wait and was surprised by how much extra time Dr. Cauchard spent with me during just my initial appointment. After taking an in-depth medical history and performing some basic vision tests, the doctor asked me if I had the time for some more detailed tests. I assumed that would mean having to come back on another day, but wanting to find me a fix as soon as possible the doctor instead gave me a comfortable place to sit in an extra examining room and continued coming back to run added tests on my vision in between treating other patients he had scheduled that morning. All together, Dr. Cauchard must have devoted over two hours to my case on what was supposed to have been just an appointment for my initial eye exam. Then Dr. Cauchard explained the results of the extra tests to me and dialed a completely different eyeglass prescription from what I had been using into those large examination lenses you typically look through when having your prescription checked each year. The new corrective prescription Dr. Cauchard came up with eliminated a huge amount of the blurred vision I had been struggling with for years. Of course, I would still need to wait for new lenses to be made up before I could get the benefit of this new prescription--but that's when I was surprised a second time by Dr. Cauchard. As soon as he saw how much the new prescription he developed had cleared up my eyesight, he personally began telephoning a number of his optical suppliers until he found one that had lenses already in stock closely matching the new prescription I would need. When he found a supplier that had these on hand he ordered the lenses sent to his office overnight and his excellent on premises optician immediately fitted them to my existing frames while I waited. That gave me a huge vision improvement on the spot and eliminated the need for me to rush in selecting new frames and ordering new permanent lenses. The doctor charged me nothing but his cost for the temporary lenses and didn't bill me anything at all to have those lenses cut and fitted to my existing frames. When I later received the monthly benefits report from my health insurance carrier I also saw that Dr. Cauchard had only billed me for a basic eye exam despite having literally spent hours working out a solution for my problem on a first visit. You will not find a more dedicated and kind eye doctor anywhere than Dr. Cauchard.

That might sound small, but it felt misleading--especially once the rest of the visit unfolded. Dr. Sinatra diagnosed me with a staph infection in my eye and prescribed a strong antibiotic (doxycycline) that I was supposed to take for a full month. It didn't sit right with me, so I went to Eyes On Ramsey for a second opinion. The doctor there was amazing--super professional and thorough--and told me I didn't need antibiotics at all, just a simple steroid drop to be administered for a week. Total relief! But here's the real kicker: A YEAR later, they billed an additional $1,000 for simply removing an eye lash or makeup brush bristle off my upper eye lid! Something I could've done myself by simply wiping my eye . I was shocked! It honestly felt like they were trying to take advantage of me (and how strange to bill me a year later?) Long story short: Misrepresented their facility Prescribed unnecessary and strong medication Charged an outrageous fee for wiping a piece of debris off my eye lid and called it a "medical procedure" Please, do your research and don't be afraid to get a second opinion.
