Thrillled to have found extremely competent, thorough and pleasant optometrist in Dr Nikki…read moreSedaghat. My friend recommended her to me and she was spot on with her referral. Vision coverage through insurance has become so confusing and limiting to choice of covered providers. So it has been many years since I was happy and satisfied with the optometrist's expertise and customer service. So we are thankful to have found Oakland Vision Center. Your eyes are pretty darn important to your life so don't mess up going to a optometrist who may not be up to par and may not have the correct diagnostic equipment. I am bringing my whole family here from now on.

I chose Oakland Vision Center for several reasons, so I made an appointment. When I walked in the office I saw the office staff were helping one elderly lady. They were helping her with kindness, just like they would do for their grandmother. I was answering questions as a new customer when the phone rang. She answered the phone and asked them to hold on while continuing to helping me. Then soon after, one worker came out from back and asked her to help the person on the phone, and she took the tablet to continue filling out the form for me. They work together to provide the best possible service for all their customers. When I was selecting a frame for my glasses, one lady helped me find the frame I was looking for. I am glad that I chose this place.

I had the responsibility of taking both of my parents for cataract surgery to two different…read moredoctors. The experiences were both unpleasant...long waits, multiple visits, impersonal treatment. I dreaded hearing that I needed the same surgery since I already dreaded the process. My experience with Dr. Reign and the Bergan-Passaic Eye Surgery Center where the surgery was performed was totally different. First, i was a patient of another doctor in the practice who told me to make an appointment with Dr. Reing. I was nervous because I didn't know Dr. Reing personally at this point but he informed me that he performs 200 surgeries a year and has been doing so for over 20 years. My friends who go to other ophthalmologist in Wayne were also sent to Dr. Reing for their cataract surgeries. That left me feeling reassured about his competence . I had two appointments for eye measurements before my surgery: one in Wayne and the other at the Eye Center. Neither required a wait. Dr. Reing's office has a professional, Trish, who just deals with surgical patients and keeps to her schedule. I left my visit with her with prescriptions, precise written directions, and a clear understanding of the lens choices I had. I also had my choice of surgery on a Monday morning or Thursday afternoon with the option of transportation being provided to the surgical center in FairLawn. At the Eye Center, I was also seen immediately. This was so different than waiting twice for 2 1/2 hours first with my mother and then with my father in West Orange The night before my surgery, I was informed of the exact time of my pick up and reminded of the general surgical rules. I was picked up on time by a wonderful driver brought to the Eye Center where an experienced staff prepped me for the surgery, sat with me until my eye drops did their job, and kept my spirits high preventing any first time nervousness. I was told what was happening every step of the way by Dr. Reing and the staff. The operation itself was quick and absolutely painless. I left wearing sunglasses. The next day, I saw Dr. Reing and then had another appointment 2 weeks later. At this appointment I was told that I could schedule my second surgery. This time I did not have to go for any measurements since the doctor and surgical center already had them...the second surgery was even easier. The end result for me was that I could see immediately without the glasses that I had worn for 30 years. I had no complications and had the most positive medical experience of my life. I am forever grateful to Dr. Reing, his wonderful staff in Wayne and the fantastic team at the Bergen-Passaic Eye Center. I highly recommend them and would feel confident going to Dr. Reing and the Center if I ever had any other eye issues.

Review of Dr. Charles Reing , Presbyopia correction function…read moreof intraocular lens Wrong lens implant, and a very poor follow up of presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs) that can restore a full range of vision without eyeglasses. "I've done thousands of them" is what I bought into; for thousands of nonrefundable dollars per eye. Wrong lenses were put in after a 5 plus hour wait on a hospital operating table. How does this happen? The Doctors ability to perform this operation and to identify the wrong lenses immediately were his responsibility. The circumstances were poor at best and the results a disaster. The follow up visit was equally poor. He was less than professional. He told me the office was very busy with multiple competing demands, and a personal family loss distracted him during my consultation. So, he overlooked the fact that I now have to wear glasses fulltime for the rest of my life. At the cost of thousands of dollars.

I was 100% blind in my left eye and about 40% blind in my right eye from cataracts. Now I have 20.20 in my left eye and 20/25 in my right. I am not even using reading glasses anymore. 1. She cares about the well-being of her patients. 2. She is extremely skilled and well regarded. 3. Her team is well organized and are top professionals. 4. The same day surgery was painless and effortless, not even irritation. 5. All of the insurance paperwork was handled effortlessly.

I had an appointment with Dr. Sinatra, (the owner) who told me their office was a "tier one"…read moreinsurance coverage. Later, I found out they were actually a "tier two insurance plan." That might sound small, but it felt misleading--especially once the rest of the visit unfolded. Dr. Sinatra diagnosed me with a staph infection in my eye and prescribed a strong antibiotic (doxycycline) that I was supposed to take for a full month. It didn't sit right with me, so I went to Eyes On Ramsey for a second opinion. The doctor there was amazing--super professional and thorough--and told me I didn't need antibiotics at all, just a simple steroid drop to be administered for a week. Total relief! But here's the real kicker: A YEAR later, they billed an additional $1,000 for simply removing an eye lash or makeup brush bristle off my upper eye lid! Something I could've done myself by simply wiping my eye . I was shocked! It honestly felt like they were trying to take advantage of me (and how strange to bill me a year later?) Long story short: Misrepresented their facility Prescribed unnecessary and strong medication Charged an outrageous fee for wiping a piece of debris off my eye lid and called it a "medical procedure" Please, do your research and don't be afraid to get a second opinion. We all deserve honest, competent care--without the surprise bills or scare tactics. I'm happy to answer questions if anyone wants to know more. I Just want to keep others from going through the same thing.
