I've been coming to Haruki East for at least 15 years, which is probably the strongest endorsement…read moreI can give any restaurant. In a state with no shortage of sushi options, this has remained my go-to spot year after year. At this point, I think I've tried either everything on the menu or come pretty close to it. That's what happens when you keep returning to the same place for over a decade. The reason I keep coming back is simple: consistency. The fish is always fresh, the sushi is well prepared, and the food is reliably good. If I order something cooked, it arrives hot and exactly as expected. There are restaurants where you're rolling the dice every visit. Haruki East has never felt like one of them. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and easy to get to. The location is convenient, and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. That's become increasingly rare these days. The only reason I'm stopping at four stars instead of five is the service. While I've never had a genuinely bad experience here, the last few visits have been noticeably slower than I remember. Service has also felt a bit inattentive at times, and these weren't during packed dinner rushes or busy weekend nights. Nothing terrible, just enough that I found myself waiting longer than expected for drinks, check-ins, or the bill. That said, the food continues to be excellent, and that's ultimately why I keep coming back. After 15 years, Haruki East has earned a level of trust that few restaurants achieve. When I'm craving sushi, this is still the place I think of first. The occasional service hiccup hasn't been enough to change that. If you're looking for fresh fish, a broad menu, reasonable prices, and a restaurant with a long track record of getting the important things right, Haruki East remains one of the best choices in Rhode Island.

(It was very cold outside.) To eat we ordered Tom Yum Shrimp soup (more spicy than we expected- and packed to take home), seaweed salad, garlic chili edamame (which we could not finish), tempura appetizer, and Ikura sashimi. It was all quite tasty. It seemed better than in the past. The service was cheerful and the food came out in a timely manner. We had not eaten here for almost a year but will do so more frequently.

I've learned the owners are Cambodian and the chef is Chinese…read more My group came here for a birthday and we ordered the Na Tang- reminded me of larb served with puffed rice crackers which was a nice touch Hae Kang (sp?) which was Cambodian sausage with beancurd wrapped outside served with fish sauce. Nicely executed. Strange flavor beef with mushrooms and onions-the strange flavor is actually satay sauce and had the right amount of salt and sweet and thickness Half a peking duck-it doesn't get cut in front of everyone and the amount was very small. Glad it came with a side of crepes to roll it in instead of baos and with the sauce and scallions and cucumber. The free birthday dessert was a scoop of vanilla ice cream since the birthday woman needed something gluten free.

We made a reservation for 11:45 am on a Friday, and it was great. They took us in the back, where every other booth was open for use, and they had tables lined up down the aisle so you were socially distanced from the other side. The servers all wore masks but were still friendly and efficient. We started with an order of crab Rangoon, (Crab Rangoon Made one at a time in our kitchen,We sell thousands every week) tag line $9.25 which came out piping hot with their awesome sauce. One of the best 2 in RI! (Lemongrass in Warwick has the equivalent great crab rangoon and sauce) I ordered the lunch special of spicy pork with vegetables (spicy Pork In Garlic Sauce, fresh Mushrooms,Water chestnuts, Broccoli, Carrots, Celery in Spicy Garlic Sauce.) $8.75. I opted for white jasmine rice, an upgrade to wonton soup, and it came with 2 small chicken wings. The portion was appropriately lunch sized and the won ton soup was pretty good. However, between the appetizer and the soup, I ended up bringing my main course home. BF enjoyed that for dinner! My friend got the pad Thai lunch special where she picked Pork Pad Thai, and a vegetable nime chow. She also had to bring some home as it's just a lot of food. Not complaining. Just commenting. I do like it here and its been 6-7 months since I came here. I know it's always there and I am sorry I don't live closer to it. They have a "special" sometimes of Chicken coconut soup that is awesome. I didn't ask today because times are hard enough without asking for a super special. But I definitely recommend it. Our server was so happy to have customers again! It made us feel good to be there.

We recently visited Sakuratani in Bristol for the first time and came away very impressed. This…read morefamily-run restaurant has only been open about a year, but it already feels like an established part of the local dining scene. A nice space. We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.
