I have a terrible phobia of the dentist from a previous dental trauma as a young child. I am specifically afraid of Novocain. I walked in the office and was greeted by the wonderful front desk who put me at ease with their kindness. I was in the exam room and when it was time for me to get numb I started to panic and began to cry. Dr Kevin Truong was incredible. He immediately put me at ease reassuring me that I was okay and did not judge my fear at all. The Novocain was virtually pain free. I did hold my husband's hand and his dental assistant was amazing! I also held her hand as she spoke gently to me to ease my fear. The procedure was far less scary than I had anticipated and I was able to make it through the entire procedure with very little anxiety. I am so blessed to have found an excellent dental office with the kindest and most gentle staff. I cannot recommend them enough!

Unfortunately, my interactions with the front desk were the complete opposite. When I recently called because I've been in significant discomfort and unable to eat properly for about a week, I was met with a lack of empathy. Instead of trying to help or offer solutions, I was told, "Well, if you hadn't missed your last appointment then you wouldn't be having this issue." I understand that missed appointments can be frustrating, but life happens, and patients deserve to be treated with basic respect and compassion--especially when they are in pain and asking for help. The response I received felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Because of this experience, I won't be returning, which is disappointing given how positive the clinical care has been. I hope the office takes feedback like this seriously and improves the way patients are treated at the front desk.

We were late to our appointment and they were very understanding. My concerns: They strongly suggested my son get teeth sealants. I was told that day that our insurance covered the procedure. Prior to our visit, I provided all my insurance, as is required at every dental office I have used. My son's sealants were done in December 2024. I received a call in March 2025 indicating that my insurance wasn't accepting the claim. Well, the office used an incorrect number to submit the claim. I provided the correct information, again. Long story short, after being told my insurance was not getting back to them (this was not true)I had to call my insurance myself; a representative from my insurance company called them directly, while I was one the other line, to tell them that they had not submitted a claim for the procedure correctly, and the information I had provided, more than once, was correct. Smile Ave Dental had my insurance on file prior to our appointment. At no point did the office inform me that they were out-of-network and used budget balancing. In other words, they charge for what the insurance doesn't cover. They never shared that information with me, and I specifically asked if they accepted our insurance. Several calls later and back and forth with their office and claims department, it's April 2025, and they just submitted the claim again and they still can't tell me what I may owe for that procedure. They seem like nice people. I don't believe this was malicious; I certainly hope not, but we won't be going back.

I went to Dr. Lenkaitis or Patriot Dental or whatever it's called about a month ago because I work…read morenearby and it's easier to go there than schedule something near my home. The entire staff was acting like they were terrified of upsetting someone (explosive temper much?) and I could hear him in another room berating someone and calling them a jerk. The receptionist seemed to be dealing with this in a way that told me it happens a lot. I really wasn't comfortable with this office because of that. The receptionist was talking in a hushed voice to someone else, telling her to make sure a door was shut because "you know he doesn't like it". I can only imagine what happens if he finds a door open, after hearing him scream. The appointment was pretty much standard with the hygienist, but not too much conversation. I got the sense that something bad had just happened before I got there. When the dentist showed up, he really had nothing much to say and it felt like he was pissed off about something. Sorry, don't want you poking at my gums with dental tools while you're angry. No way am I going to visit this guy again. You shouldn't either.
