Nice & clean inside, friendly counter people, fast service & food. Classic hot dog joint - I had a dog with cheese and curly fries to go. They were both super tasty. I will be back when I'm craving a hotdog again for sure.

Old school fast serve place for burgers, dogs and fried food. Part of a dying breed that used to dot Connecticut. Good grilled foods served up, no frills and inexpensive.

Cheese sauce , great size. Sort of spicy.

The food was great! Highly recommend the quarter pound cheeseburger. Onion rings aren't the best and the cheese sauce was a semi spicy version. Cheeseburger was so great ! I got Mayo, raw onion, lettuce and tomato with American cheese. Small spot, shack like. Nice enough service.

5/27/22 Chili cheese dog Spicy nacho cheese sauce, Italian sausage burger with fried Peppers. No provolone? What's with that?

5/27/22 My first visit to a Frankie's, a small, local outlet of several in the state by the name Frankie's. The menu is pretty extensive, and offers the typical drive in fare of dogs, burgers, seafood and salads. I decided to try one of their foot long chili cheese dogs with spicy nacho cheese sauce, and an Italian sausage burger with fried peppers on a Portuguese roll, and a pink lemonade from the fountain. The only odd thing to me was that they don't offer provolone cheese to go on their Italian sausage burgers, only American or spicy nacho cheese sauce. What's up with that? Both were more than acceptable, but nothing to make them stand out amongst all the other nearby drive in dining options. Service was quick and friendly, and the tables were all very clean, so no issues on that front. Try Frankie's, and see for yourself.

I ordered THE sandwich combo with mild spice, mac & cheese, and of course banana pudding for desert. My sandwich was so juicy, tender, and crunchy! It was perfectly topped with just the right amount of coleslaw, pickles and rob sauce. I got the mac & cheese without spice just to try it, and honestly wasn't impressed. While very creamy, the cheese left a funny after taste I didn't like. Now the banana pudding on the other hand, that was amazing! It reminded me of southern style banana pudding with hints of cinnamon. My husband picked up the order for me. It was ready quickly and the servers were very friendly from what he said. It's definitely a take out place, as there is very little seating. I will gladly order from here again because I'm already thinking about that chicken sandwich again!

To me, it tasted like a perfect blend of Chick-fil-A and Popeyes--great texture with excellent crunch, and the chicken was moist and full of flavor. The fries were just okay; the crunchier ones were tasty, but they were mixed with some softer, less crispy pieces. The banana pudding was a nice treat too--definitely good. What really stood out was the exceptional staff. They were super friendly and even gave me some complimentary items since it was my first time trying hot chicken. That's fantastic customer service and great business! The only downsides: The place is very small, so don't plan on sitting down to eat if you're with more than one person (it's mostly takeout vibes). Also, the pricing feels expensive--the sandwich alone is $13.49, and adding the combo (with fries and a drink) bumps it up another $4.75. On the bright side, there are plenty of fries to share with someone else. Overall, I highly recommend it for the chicken and service, especially if you're craving Nashville-style hot chicken locally.
