    Half off wine on Tuesdays

This place is a staple of the area. It's been around since I was a kid 20 years ago. I would say this is like a mom and pop Olive Garden. The tossed salad and garlic rolls are *chefs kiss* and come with entrees. I want to love the pasta dishes but for me they're just okay. My husband does love them though! Their pizzas are good. The last time we ate their my soup was very salty which was sad because I love Italian wedding soup. It's a surprisingly large restaurant with Italian posters all around.

The first thing I have to point out is the service. The people here are genuinely kind and attentive. That alone makes you want to come back. Secondly, the food does the job! I got the Baked Ziti and it was the perfect portion in my opinion. I've also preferred the pizza and garlic cheesy bread in the past -- also pretty good! It's dim and intimate inside. You wouldn't expect it to look the way it does based from its exterior. I love this little hidden gem. I say to definitely give this place a try! For sure recommend.

Came here on a Friday night with a couple of family members and it was not too busy so we got seated right away. Ordered the Pasta Primavera and it came with salad and rolls. The waitress was kind enough to bring salad and rolls for the whole table even though one of our party did not order an entree that came with them. The salad was alright, a pretty standard garden salad loaded with cheese. The rolls were swimming in garlic butter, however. I am somebody who can appreciate a buttered roll, but there was about a quarter of an inch of oil in the bottom of the bowl with the rolls which I found a bit much. My pasta dish was good, but nothing special. Vegetables were not overdone, and the sauce was on the lighter side which suited the dish. Similarly good but not amazing reviews from my family on the fettuccine pasta, and the calamari and muscle starters. I'd been to it a few times before Covid and it's about the same as I remembered. Would come back again but am certainly in no rush to.

Do two restaurants constitute a chain? I dunno, but we always end up at Frankie's on Canton Road, ten minutes from my house. But not any more. I like this Frankie's better. Realistically, it's not the most authentic Italian food in the world, but it tastes good. And the portions are big. Enough for two meals. They start you off with a lovely salad -- gratis with the meal -- and garlic rolls. Yeah, they go overboard with the sauce. And saltimbocca shouldn't have this much spinach. While we're at it, the prosciutto on my chicken should be sliced thinner ... but hey, this is Marietta, Georgia. Not Venice. (Italy. Not Florida.) For the time being, management is offering half priced bottles of wine Sundays through Thursdays. Now, they're talkin!

The dining area feels intimate and artistic, and they also offer patio seating, which is perfect as we approach southern summer nights. If you're looking for wine pairing to accompany your tapas, they offer an extensive list of wines from Spain, as well as parts of South America. Over the bar was a large screen TV showing beautiful scenes of Italy, with contemporary Italian pop playing in the background. I started with the soup of the day, which was lobster bisque that was so full of lobster that I would call it a stew versus a soup. The complimentary bread was slightly toasted and topped with aromatic herbs that paired perfectly with the olive oil with which it was served. My entree was a special, and was the short rib. There was nothing "short" about it as the huge beef rib had a bone that overhung the plate that a caveman would be proud to own. The beef was fork tender and the steak knife provided with it wasn't necessary. It was paired with a delicious and sweet wine sauce. And the side was tender gnocchi (al tartufo) in a rich and creamy sauce flavored with truffle. Since they also have Risotto al Tartufo on the menu, that will definitely be on my list for my next visit. And I definitely want to bring my wife to that next visit because the flavor and food were so wonderful, it's a great place for a date night.

The yurt was located on the restaurants patio, and was decorated for Christmas. There were lights and a wreath on the inside, as well as blankets in case it got chilly. There was a flap as the door that looked like it closed, but ever did because waiters were frequently entering. I thought that there would be multiple yurts, but we were the only one. From where I sat, I was in the direct line of vision of another guest outside of the yurt, eating on the patio, which was a little awkward. It was not as private as it seemed. We came for the 6pm time slot, and the guests who were there at 4pm were taking a while so we weren't sat until around 6:30pm. We got lucky with the weather and it wasn't cold, but I could see that being a point of concern very quickly. As previously mentioned, they do provide blankets. We started with the Charcuterie board, and it was exceptional. It says on the menu that it feeds two, but I think it could feed three if you're not starving. There was one cheese that was in a coating of what seemed to be nuts, and that was the star of the show. For the entree, I got the Cacio e Pepe with chicken. The pasta was creamy and very cheesy (!) and there was substantial amount of chicken. I got full about half way through, and took the rest to-go. Although there were some hiccups, this was an enjoyable, novelty dinner, and I would recommend.

We started with the pimento cheese dip and were both surprised to find that it was served hot along with several pieces of soft, warm bread. It was SO good and a nice change from the way that most other restaurants serve their pimento cheese. Even hubby loved it and he is usually not a fan of cheese. For my main, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this is THE BEST MEAL I have had in a really long time. Total comfort food that hit all the right spots on this chilly afternoon. The cheese on the sandwich was just the right amount of ooey gooey and the tomato soup was perfection. I was tempted to lick the bowl when I got to the bottom, but that wouldn't be very dignified while dining out, so I did the next best thing by sopping up the residue with what was left of my sandwich. It was delicious and I will be back for more soon. Hubby ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was the best chicken sandwich he has had. He is hard to please, so between the pimento and sandwich, 1920 achieved the improbable in impressing hubby. Service was impeccable. The main reason we had not come back in a while is because it is a small space and can feel pretty congested when it fills up, which is not the most comfortable. We don't like feeling crowded, but after today's visit, we decided that the limited space is a small price to pay for amazing food and service, so we will undoubtedly return soon. Perhaps we will try sitting outside instead when the weather cooperates. Big thanks to 1920 for starting our new year off on the right foot!

Parking can be hit or miss, but there is a plethora of parking in the surrounding area. Buyer beware: children will be running wild and rampant 'round these parts due to the outdoor, semi-covered area next door (it's actually pretty cool and pretty inconvenient if you're trying to stray away from children). The outdoor area has kid-sized tables on an artificial "lawn", along with lounge chairs & Edison lighting (also known as "track lighting"). They have food here, as well. You'll get a table buzzer to pickup your food from the back of the brewery. Seating is comprised of picnic tables and normal tables. The bar, sadly, could use more high-top chairs. Thankfully, I found a recluse away from the stampede of children. FYI: it's noisy. And it's mostly from children. So any background music is pretty much drowned out. I really wish the appeal of breweries and children would stop. For my food, I ordered the Kaiser Chicken Wrap with pasta salad. The pasta salad was decent; the wrap was meh. Thankfully I don't base my reviews off the food the brewery serves. Just thankful they have food options! As for the beer, I was pleasantly surprised at the taste from the limited options they had. They don't offer flights here, so that's the honest reason for the star bump. I ordered four .3 liter pours so I could get a decent array of the offerings. I also got decently blitzed. My beers: Ralphdog Radler, Theresa's Meadow, Tecolote & Straight Outta Munich. The Ralphdog Radler was my favorite. I'm unsure if this is a different way to say "sour", but the taste and slight sour from this was my style. The Straight Outta Munich, which is a special Helles lager (think Weihenstephaner), was superb. I honestly think this one should be their flagship beer, as it was beyond expectations. Theresa's Meadow (ok, was this really from Theresa's Meadow??), the Hefeweizen, was good but lacking. Normally there is a stronger banana taste, and this version was very light on it. I'd probably call it a Hefeweizen Light and suggest more banana if they want to label it a Hefeweizen. Maybe Theresa's meadow is just banana-less?? The Tecolote, Vienna style Mexican lager was meh. I wouldn't suggest it. Overall, they have two solid beers here! And I would come back for both. 4/5 stars, which puts this as a decent option if you want to try something new.
