Happy to see a place like this in o side. We were able to call and get reservations and it was not crowded at all. They recently opened specializing in tasty custom cocktails. It's a great place to come for a night cap after a nice dinner. The drinks are worth the price but it can ass up quickly. read more

Was there during the day. Not many people there and had 2 bartenders. The service was ridiculously slow. Completely ignored us while walking by. I was almost embarrassed for them as the other people around were laughing on how bad the service was. Didn't want to try anything after finally getting my beer so I ask for the check. That took another 10 minutes. I damn near walked out. Too bad. Looks like a nice place. read more

Proverbial 0 stars if I could. Staff are both pompous and of course disengaged. Waited 10 minutes at bar nearly empty and no one wanted to serve so we walked out. Sometimes it's easy to see why businesses close down. It's not a mystery. read more

We found this little cocktails only gem on Yelp and it did not disappoint. I had the most unique and delicious drinks there. My first one was strawberry and tomato, called tomato is a fruit, with tequila. It was amazing. My husband had an delicious barrel aged gin and my other drink had rhubarb, bell peppers and lemon. Also delicious. I loved that the drinks were not too sweet but full of complimentary flavors. Their menu is awesome with pics and fun descriptions. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. read more

Came here for a couple of drinks on a Friday night. It is quite a small spot so there might be a wait to sit but the inside is decorated nicely and the atmosphere is relaxed. The service was really good and everyone working was welcoming. We each had two drinks and 3/4 drinks were really good. Overall great place to grab a drink or two with a friend or small group. Will definitely be returning. read more

Been quite a few times now. Cocktails are great. Noticed some of the other reviewers mentioned service issues, honestly its hit or miss. Either get super great service or they just kinda seem annoyed youre there. Everyones allowed an off day. Tonight was fantastic. Sean was great and we are appreciative to have a good cocktail spot! Ps for those complaining about the menu- #1- just try something maybe youll be happily surprised. #2- Try asking for what you are interested in instead of just complaining you don't see it, chances are good they can make it read more

Yoooooo, this palace was GREAT! After having a crappy time at coco cabana we stopped here after! Cocktails are $15 or less but done right!! The bartenders are awesome, very nice and let you know what you are getting!! Drinks are fire, environment was perfect!! We'll be back when we want to spend a bit of cash!! Frankie's is a really awesome bar. Unfortunately last night there was a large group of girls who came in who were extremely loud and rude to the employees. They brought in food from other places, they were sloppy, just flat out disrespectful to everyone in their surroundings. In fact, I believe Kris M who left a nasty review was one of those girls. I would say women but they did not act like women at all. Anyways, great local bar. The bartenders are on top of it. Always a great vibe, unless you have 10 chicks walk in with bad attitudes claiming they know the owner when her comment below shows that to be untrue. I hope the employees stay safe and sane from entitled people like this throughout the holidays. read more

No coasters. They're a courtesy provided by quality establishments for when you want to cover a drink during john runs. Furthermore, when it was obvious that I was having trouble connecting to their wifi network, staff didn't exactly bend over backward to assist me. Raise the game. I actually changed course from Baja Betty's to your establishment because I wanted to mix things up a little. Try something new. I was kinda disappointed. After I posted this, one of your staff did take the time to help me with the wifi network. read more

Love this bar! A local friend of mine told me about it so we went there for an after dinner drink. The atmosphere is really amazing. I felt like we were in a bar in NY or Chicago. Well it's a cute place but they don't seem to really want customers especially to come in any larger party apparently it takes up too many of their tables... Laughable they asked if I had a reservation I told him no but could they still accommodate us even though there was no one in there they still wanted to leave the tables for other people so crazy... Also the manager is not a friendly person at all.. The guitar musician was awesome read more

Idk if they have other drinks but we were handed menus with $15 cocktails as only option. I don't think mine even had vodka in it and my friend's drink was TINY. The server kept asking us every few mins if we wanted more so we eventually left. No food. We left and got carne asada fries which was 1000% more satisfying and worth it read more

Great Music will draw you in...the great liquor collection will also entice you to enjoy this location......however the staff is not appreciative when you change their cocktails and ask for something outside their menu. The credit card got tossed back at me as if I was unworthy of their service. Very sad considering this was my first time to the location. Th waitress apologized for the bartender as if it was not the first time she's heard of this situation. I give them 3 only because the cocktails were delicious and the waitress was friendly....the bartender doesn't deserve to work at a location where he's so fortunate to have great music bringing in great customers.......I hope he's got enough $ to pay for his mustache wax ......sad customer service! read more

We stayed at the Red Brick Hotel next door. Decided to come down here for a drink but there was a musician playing a guitar and singing and we just kinda sat there enjoying the music. Never even ordered a drink because we just really enjoyed the artist Shaynie Rhoads. Never heard of her but found out she was a local Oceanside artist. The music alone was great so we'd definitely come back and maybe grab a drink next time! read more

So my wife and I walk around Oceanside with our little one all the time, 6yo, trying out all the new local spots. We wanted to try out this spot. We were stopped at the front door "can I help you" ya we would like to sit down and try out this new spot I said. The host said I can't let you in because you have a minor with you. Other people had their dogs with them. So this place is not family friendly. Very very awful experience. They choose dogs over kids. Would much rather give my $ to another locally owned family friendly business. read more

Man, I have never been so discriminated in my life! I brought my father to have a couple drinks after walking around at the Sunset Market last Thursday! The bartender didn't even acknowledge us at all. Waited like 10 minutes before another bartender that was middle eastern took our order. I pay my taxes and I served my country. Just because my skin color is brown does not mean I deserve to be treated like this. Shame on the white female bartender for being unprofessional. This is California, a diversed state and you don't like it then leave! read more

In this case, "low-key" refers to a tiki bar that is not over-the-top; one that doesn't cause you to enter into an entirely different reality. There's a time and place for that sort of tiki bar but in a small coastal town perhaps you don't want or need to enter a fourth dimension. The Lobby is small (though larger than I'd anticipated), not noticeably dark (like many in the genre), and outfitted with a nice array of tiki-themed tchotchkes. Scooby Doo, playing silently on a small tv above the bar, is a perfect accompaniment to the pleasing decor. I both ate and drank here and found nothing not to enjoy. Tiki bars generally elicit happiness in me and this one, with its excellent server, did not change that mindset. An Astro Chimp ($14) was my tiki drink of choice, mostly because I was interested in trying a cocktail featuring cold brew. Very good, and it did not keep me up all night. Fish & Chips ($23) was a sizable and satisfying portion, plenty there to be shared by two. "Brussels" ($11), were also quite good and ample. You will not go hungry if you choose to dine here. The Lobby is a fun choice for your time in Oceanside. Stylish and satisfying on every front, I'd happily return. Other stuff: * There is apparently a stairway-accessible rooftop deck here but it was closed for a private event during my visit. If open, definitely worth checking out. * 5% surcharge is automatically added to everything you spend here.

The main area seemed to be more shaded than the pool area, so half our group was in the sun and the other half were shaded, thankfully there was a breeze! We specifically went for the happy hour drinks and they were delicious!!! Service was good - our waitress was friendly. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting the area on the future!

That's kind of why I made the comment in the beginning. The place has a cool idea behind it, but you can tell it's missing some of the professionalism and attention to detail that comes with running a good bar. The one thing that really saves this place is the view. It's a really nice view, and during sunset I can definitely see why people come here. She was a little disappointed by how many mussels there were in the dish - she had been hoping for more fish and shrimp. She said the flavor was good though. For dessert, we did opt to try the beignets. Honestly I could have done without them. They weren't as light and fluffy as they could've been. Overall, it was a good experience with great accommodations for our toddlers and great service.

But to accomplish this, there is no longer space for a pool table (which was previously there). There's also a big screen projection television. A sports game was playing at the time. I'm not entirely sure if their menu is complete, but they have an assortment of reds, whites, drafts, cocktails (soju-based), about 20 beers on tap and a few bites (including a smashburger, quesadilla, a burrito, grilled cheese sandwich & now Argentina Empanadas). It's important to take note that there's no kitchen immediately on-site. Honestly, I don't know what to make of this place. I can only guess that the old branding wasn't working, so they swapped up some interior, slapped on some paint and added 2 projection screens? The service was fast, friendly & helpful, thank goodness! The bathrooms were clean at the time of use. But this location appears to lack a sense of identity. The interior wants to say "cozy wine bar". But then they're serving burgers and have sports on the tv. It's all very confusing. I would wish they would pick-a-lane and just focus on that aspect. It appears that this place will be a "fine wine bar", that may have tapas & small bites, but currently carries bar-style foods. The high-tables seat couples or pairs of twos. Since I know they're still working out the kinks, I'll come back later and hope that they come to a focal point on what they want to bring to the dining scene in the downtown area. As it stands, I would really recommend The Meantime to those who want to socialize over some wine, but desire a less populated or crowded scene. So, maybe good for an "after dinner sip" spot or social hangout with no expectation of a big dinner & for the selected sports games.

While you can get a cocktail here, you don't have to. A classic shot and a beer is just as likely to be had here as a stemmed glass proper cocktail. When it's jamming it is near a standing room all the way around. No doorman asking for a password, no re-entry on nights when Heritage are open (Monday is this exception). It's funny to watch South O locals wander in here and realize maybe it's time to stop trying to change places to be like other places and enjoy the experience shown.

It just probably isn't somewhere I'll return to.
