Such a pretty setting, with a colourful garden in the front and back. The inside was amazingly vibrant and quite crowded, despite the quiet location. (Even on a Monday!) Clearly a very popular place! We came here for a special lunch on Monday 9th June, 2025, with my two elderly "aunties", and it didn't disappoint. In fact, the whole thing was a success. The atmosphere was lovely and the welcome and service was warm and friendly. I had the apple and parsnip soup, which was absolutely delicious. Everyone wanted to taste it! I then had the homemade chicken and leek pot pie, which was fabulous - a lovely thick, crunchy crust with fresh ingredients and fresh side veggies. For dessert, I had the sticky apple and blackberry pudding! (A nice summery twist on the traditional sticky toffee pudding) And it was every bit as good as I'd hoped. Served hot with piping hot custard... The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, and were very patient trying to get the best photo of us all! Wandering outside to get some fresh air, we admired the large beer garden at the back, and my husband and I went on the swings! Very peaceful out there, with the antique tractor at the back, and the view over the field of daisies. Lots of lovely colourful hanging baskets of flowers in the front too, and I loved the foxgloves planted right by the painted sign "The Fox Revived"... The whole thing made for a very memorable and enjoyable time.

Ordered a margarita pizza a few days later and it was burned and had no basil. Kind of odd that it just came out with no basil and burned. We had been traveling all day and two of the three of us were very sore and all of us were exhausted. We had no car and our hotel restaurant was over priced, and previous experience with food at other hotels convinced us not to even try to eat the over priced items at the hotel. An English friend back in the US had recommended we eat at Weatherspoon's pubs, which share common ties to the Weatherspoon management, but go by unique names under the Weatherspoons brand. Weatherspoons branded pubs can be found by Googling Weatherspoons or by checking the company website, which will give you the unique names of all of the Weatherspoons near your location. They are all over the UK. We ate at four Weatherspoons in our trip, and they were all good. They are all pubs. Instead of a server taking your order at your table, you pick a table, decide what you want, then order and pay at the bar and they deliver your food at the table. There seems to be a standardized menu, but it seems that some have bigger menus than others, but the pub operational procedures, quality control and core menu offerings seem to be standardized within the brand. We did not see obvious tourists at any of the Weatherspoons, so the prices are not artificially inflated and the food is not a caricature of what people in the UK eat. They open for breakfast and are open until late at night. You can eat full meals there, including the classic English breakfast as well as the classic American breakfast. Pizza was available at at least three of the four we ate at. There is exceptional variety in the menu. At this particular Weatherspoons, called Jack Fairman, I had the small fish and chips. It was NOT overbreaded or greasy, it was delicate, cooked until just flaky but not overdone. The fish tasted fresh. It was very very tasty. They had a big binder that gives nutrition and allergy information for every single item on the menu, which was very helpful for a member of our traveling party who has two food allergies. Just request the allergy binder. The pub is well decorated with relaxing, casual ambience. There is a fireplace mantle with easy chairs by it that look very cozy and inviting. Everyone there seemed to be having a relaxed time together as if they were visiting with friends in their own homes. The bartender was very congenial and warm; service was quick and accurate. We were very very pleased to find out that this exact Weatherspoons was like a second home to our English friends, a place where many many family meals and celebrations took place when they lived in Crawley England. They were thrilled when we told them where we had eaten. Jack Fairman's restored our sanity and group morale at the end of an exhausting trip to Europe that was not actually a vacation, and was really quite stressful. We left with very fond feelings for this place because we were so exhausted and upset when we arrived-- and we left fully relaxed and restored. Thank you Jack Fairman's for a wonderful relaxing evening at the end of an extremely difficult day.

We ordered the English breakfast of various sizes (they have small, standard and large), and we all found the sausage and beans to be bland. It was nice that the tea/coffee/hot chocolate all included free refills, convenient if you were trying to while away hours during a layover, but for someone wanting a quick meal, the upcharge for that convenience wasn't necessary or wanted. Also, the seats are not particularly comfortable, so I cannot imagine wanting to stay longer than the time required to eat a meal.

I got the Pesto, Mozzarella and Tomato Sandwich with Fries and a side of garlic bread. The sandwich was pretty bland - the pesto didn't have much taste and the cheese was also pretty subpar. The bread was not as crispy as it should be in a panini-style sandwich. All of this made it really tough to finish the sandwich. The fries were also not great. I saw that my friend got very crispy fries so I was excited but mine ended up being pretty soggy and got cold pretty quickly. The best part of the meal was the side of garlic bread - it was crispy and easy to chew but full of flavor. Unfortunately, though, it did not come with any marinara sauce on the side so I had to make do with a spontaneous mix of ketchup and mayonnaise. I guess if you're desparately hungry in an airport come here, but other than that you can find other places.

It was a good final meal in the UK right before I hopped onto my morning flight. I needed breakfast, and thankfully The Flying Horse had black pudding, which I really wanted. Funnily, I had black pudding as my first food in the UK, and I figured it'd be appropriate to have it when leaving, especially since I like it so much and I will have difficulty finding it back in the States. I would have gotten fish and chips, but they didn't serve it until 11:00 or 11:30, so black pudding it was. The servers were very nice and quick and efficient. They also brought me water too. Unfortunately this was some of the worst food I've ever had in my life. Located at Gatwick Airport, my husband and I went to eat lunch before our flight. We walked around the food court and picked somewhere at random. Flying Horse had empty seats and seemed lively. We sat down and eventually figured out that we needed to order food through an app. I got the seafood risotto, which had mussels, prawns, squid, and crab with a tomato white wine lobster sauce. Sounded amazing but tasted like metal. I couldn't finish it because I felt so sick. My husband got the fish & chips but didn't like those either. Service was alright. Some of the wait staff came around to check on us and I should have said something about the food. I doubt anything could have redeemed the risotto, though. Not that I plan on another layover at Gatwick anytime soon, but next time I'll have a beer to wash it all down.

I really like his HBO news show, I think ill let him cook me breakfast.. Well.. wrong Jamie Oliver.. this J-O is actually a famous British Chef. And his Diner is absolutely awful. It was needlessly expensive even by airport standards. My steak was made of rubber, and hands down... the worst choice I made on this trip.

I suppose because of how famous this guy is, especially considering that it's British food, of all cuisines, his restaurant is actually not disappointing. It wasn't great or anything but it wasn't terrible either. I got the Jamie's super corn & quinoa salad, the name makes it sound more glorious than it actually was. The salad was good, it did the trick, but the lack of lettuce, under the salad section, was a little disappointing. But overall, it was still pretty good. Not much to say about it, the picture kind of tells all you need to know about it. As long as you know how to cook quinoa properly, I think you can't really go wrong making this salad. My sister got the special of the day. Jamie's meatballs and waffle. I don't know if you will get the same kind of special or if they would make this again if it weren't on the board.. as I didn't see anything like that on the menu. The meatballs were delicious. Meaty but not gross or greasy. The waffle, however, was kinda too thick. It had lost all its waffle-crunchiness due to the meatball sauce and the meat juices. But just eating all the meatballs off the top was enough to fill one up, maybe plus a little bit of the crispy waffle bits. If possible, if I ever somehow decide to come back here, I'd see if I can order the waffles and the meat separately. Prices are reasonable for the portions you get. But given that this is a restaurant located in the airport, they need a little bit of work in getting their food ready on time. Most of the time people stop here because they're waiting for their plane to board or waiting for their layover to be over with, as was our case. But we still managed to stuff our face in time to catch the plane. So no harm done. But if you have less than an hour before your plane is called to board and you want to sit down to eat, I'd suggest getting it to go just to be safe. Bonus added- they have charging outlets with their booths. So if your phones are running low on juice, see if you can request to sit against a wall or a divider. Service is good. British. Tentative without overbearing. I like it.
