I was recommended this restaurant from my bf's mom since, admittedly, she is a picky-eater and said this spot was great. I took her suggestion and made a reservation for a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. We went on a Tuesday evening around 6:30 pm and found there was plenty of room but I still made a reservation just in case. They left a little notecard wishing him an amazing birthday, which was a great way to start the night ( I did not know they would do that!). They did bring out bread to share. Our server was very sweet. I wish I remembered his name, but he was an older gentleman who was timely. He even ended the night with a joke to make us laugh! The inside was absolutely beautiful. I found the inside decor romantic. Between two people we spent $300. He ordered the surf and turf, while I had chicken fettuccine Alfredo. We both had cocktails too (each was around $15). The dessert was on the house due to his birthday. Honestly, I would go here again for a special occasion due to the pricing but I found it worth it. We recently visited Frankfort Chop House and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The standout for me was the Branzino. It was cooked immaculately, perfectly prepared, flaky, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the delicious potatoes and sauce. The Chicken Alfredo was also fantastic, rich and flavorful, and the rolls they bring to start the meal were absolutely amazing. And can we talk about the Brussels sprout chips? Holy moly. Those things were addictive. The Chicken Parmesan was very good and had great flavor, though I think it could have benefited from a little more Parmesan. The sea bass was seasoned wonderfully and packed with flavor, but because of the thickness of the cut, the cook was a bit uneven. About three-quarters of the fish was cooked perfectly, while the last quarter was slightly undercooked. Unfortunately, the roasted chicken was the one dish that missed the mark. It was severely overcooked and dry, not even a sauce could have saved it. Dessert helped end the evening on a high note. The chocolate layer cake was delicious, the carrot cake was just as impressive, and the affogato was the perfect finishing touch. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the service. Our waitress and her trainee were absolutely wonderful. They were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and struck that perfect balance of being available without being intrusive. They truly enhanced our dining experience and deserve recognition for the excellent job they did. Overall, I'd give Frankfort Chop House a 7/10. The food quality is generally very good, there were several dishes that we absolutely loved, and we would definitely go back. My biggest suggestion would be focusing on consistency in the cooking of certain dishes, as a few items varied significantly from excellent to disappointing. We dined here for the first time for our anniversary. We walked in and were immediately impressed by the atmosphere. Then we went to our table and were surprised by a card and petals on the table- a very nice touch and something we have never experienced even at the most expensive steakhouses around the Chicago area. Our drinks were great and we ordered a wedge and the baked French onion soup- both of which were perfectly prepared. For our entrees we ordered steaks- I ordered the special, a bone in filet and my husband ordered the cowboy ribeye. We both agreed our cuts were amazing. Another surprise was how they prepared the baked potatoes. Normally, it's not a side to be super excited about. But the outside was crispy and salted and the inside was perfectly fluffy. For dessert we ordered the strawberry shortcake and affogato. Which were also lovely and freshly prepared. This place gave us an experience. A few minutes from home and it was like eating in one of our favorite steakhouses in Oak Brook. Understand that the pricing is reflective of a good steakhouse. If you aren't used to dining at a Ditkas or J Alexander's or similar, the prices may seem different for you. But it is in line with others we frequent and was a hop skip and a jump from home. Beautiful atmosphere and pleasant experience all together in this fine dining establishment. Though we were at a chophouse, we loved the Scallop appetizer so much that we decided on seafood entrees. I had the Risotto with Scallops: YUM! Yes... the Scallops were seared and seasoned to perfection, and the Risotto was cooked perfectly, too! Again, rather than feasting on a choice of steak, my fiancé had the Shrimp and Pasta Diablo. Now, this was a little too spicy for his liking; but if you enjoy extra hot saucy dishes, he says this won't disappoint. Regardless, the ambiance is beautiful, so classy casual to semi-formal attire is recommended. The Chophouse is an upscale venue so please in the service of all that is decent please leave your yoga pants and jeans at home and put on a dress or a pair of trousers. You only live once so make it count. The most impressive feature of the Chophouse is that the atmosphere is lively and filled with friendly people wonderful service staff and consummate professionals. I love this place. We've been to this restaurant four times now most recently just this last weekend. It just keeps getting better. My salmon was cooked to perfection as was the risotto that accompanied it. My husband steak was exactly the temperature he requested and the brussels sprouts were so good you never knew you were eating something so healthy. Couple reasons I dropped a star. Drinks - waitress recommend a pear drink -- then came back to say they were out of pear vodka. This was 6pm on a Saturday. Drinks didn't impress us. Waitress didn't seem too educated on the drinks (on the menu!) It was LOUD. Maybe because everything is wide open? Tables are extremely close together. Calamari was just ok. Filet was wonderful. Came here for a birthday celebration, ordered an extra dirty martini, had to have it remade 3x. First time no olive juice, second time was made with vermouth, third time the bartender just squirted olive juice into the glass in which it was brown in color and he ended up remaking it. The olives as a garnish tasted literally rotten. Appetizers and salads + soups came and were eaten before we even got the drinks. Ordered a gimlet, I've never had any gimlet that tasted like that. Had it remade, still was absolutely pitiful. Had to walk up to the bar in order to get a drink remade. Ordered a $90 steak that was cooked incorrectly and tasted burnt. Potatoes gratin were rubbery and tasteless. Baked clams were gritty full of sand, Mac and cheese tasted like nacho cheese sauce. Branzino was cold, flavorless and once again rubbery. Creamed spinach had a layer of film like it had been sitting under the heat lamp. A $300+ bill with a suggested 40% gratuity and every single thing we tried was repulsive. We refused whatever was going to be brought out for the birthday due to every. Single. Dish. Being god awful. Extremely hard to justify the prices of the food when it was absolutely diabolical. Such a great upscale chophouse! The ambience was amazing and felt very appropriate for an upscale restaurant. The menu had a great selection of food, the drink selection was outstanding. First time visiting with a few girlfriends, and we had such a great experience! The drinks were fabulous, and the food was absolutely delicious--top notch overall. We started with the grilled calamari, Brussels chips, and crab cakes, and everything was excellent. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered the lobster bisque, and it ended up being one of the best soups I've had. Others at the table ordered the 8oz filet and scallops with risotto. I'm not usually a big fan of fish (aside from crab and lobster), but I did try the risotto--and it was outstanding! For dessert, we sampled a few options, and I had the cheesecake. It was light, fluffy, and honestly perfect. I was surprised to see the restaurant had a 3.4-star rating when I went to leave this review. Since it just opened, I'm sure they're still working through a few kinks. The only downside for me was the dining room setup--the chairs felt a bit awkward. We sat in a booth and felt low compared to the table, while the chairs across from us seemed much better suited. Next time, we'll likely sit closer to the bar, where the ambiance felt a bit more inviting. It is a little on the pricey side, and slightly more affordable options would make it even more appealing--especially for the area. That said, we had a really pleasant experience overall and are already looking forward to going back! read more

Caesar salad to start was great. Followed by the strip steak and fries! Steak was lovely and fries were crispy. Garlic aioli is a must!! We finished the night with the tiramisu. I've been to Italy multiple times, so I know a good tiramisu. It was genuinely delicious and the portion was huge! The service was amazing. We had multiple coming to check on us through the meal- including the owners Ace and Frank. Both were extremely kind and attentive! Our server was extremely friendly and bubbly. It should also be noted how absolutely beautiful this place is. The interior design is to die for. Stunning from the wallpaper to the chairs! Absolutely enhances your experience. This place is amazing! It is beautifully decorated and the service is out of this world. Kelly greeted us at the bar like we were regulars. We had reservations at a table but decided to eat at a high top in the bar where Kelly continued to serve us with pure pleasure. Several of the staff and the owner stopped to check on us. We enjoyed the steak bites and Brussel sprouts for appetizers. My husband ordered the pork chop and I ordered the salmon. Everything we had was out of this world delicious. Let me start this off by saying I'm an avid steakhouse visitor -- Ocean Prime, Mastro's, Morton's, etc. I'm perfectly fine and used to paying up when it comes to steak and the overall dining experience. However, this place's experience was no better than Texas Roadhouse, maybe even worse. To begin, we arrived 10 minutes early to our reservation and the manager on staff along with the host didn't even know where to seat us. They had to walk back to the host stand after already bringing us to a table. Once seated, we were greeted by paper tablecloths, which definitely didn't scream "fine dining." I will give credit where it's due -- the server was attentive. But beyond that, the experience completely fell apart. It took over an hour after ordering to receive our food... on a Tuesday night. Not a packed Friday night -- a Tuesday with maybe four other tables in the building. We also never received the side salad that was supposed to come with the steak. We asked if the side portions were family style and were told no... only to find out they absolutely were. To top it off, we watched surrounding tables have their leftovers boxed up for them while a random man simply threw boxes onto our table and walked away. $250 later, I can confidently say I would never come back again. This is easily the second worst steakhouse experience I've ever had. read more

irst time visit. I came in with such anticipation and high hopes, but left extremely disappointed. For an exceptionally expensive restaurant, the noise level was unbearable. While the décor is gorgeous, the constant glare of headlights shining through the windows was distracting and diminished the overall ambiance. At this price point, there is a certain expectation of comfort and atmosphere that simply wasn't met. The service was equally disappointing. We were seated right away, but it took five minutes just to receive a glass of water. Our waiter briefly appeared, said he'd be right back, and then disappeared for another 15 minutes before taking our drink order. It was 25 minutes before we received our first drinks. We ordered filet steaks, medium rare, along with salads. The salads arrived quickly and were beautifully presented--but served on warm plates, which was surprising and unpleasant. After waiting approximately 45 minutes for the main course, my steak arrived well done instead of medium rare. The hollandaise sauce was cold. To their credit, they did recook the steak, but it had to be butterflied and the accompanying potatoes were undercooked. It still did not reflect the quality expected at this level. We also ordered the lemon dessert, which took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. I understand this is a new restaurant, but with a $250 tab, there was no offer of any compensation--just a simple apology. When you charge premium prices, guests expect premium service, attention to detail, and accountability when things go wrong. I truly wanted to love this restaurant, but between the poor service, long wait times, execution issues, and lack of recovery effort, this experience fell far short. Will state from the start, I'm a small business owner and I'll often give feedback because I want to see other small businesses be successful. This is a collective rating from my last two visits. The first visit was for my husband's 60th birthday. We had a party of 12 and were geared up for a special night. Things that were good to great - the food generally was very good. Should be great for the price point but very good. The bad - the service was deplorable. And it wasn't our server. She was fantastic and did as well as she could with 2-3 other tables assigned to her in additional to our party of 12 on a Wednesday night. But there was ZERO coordination with the team. Drinks literally took 20-25 minutes to get to our table. We had to ask several times for plates to be cleared from our table. Folks brought out four trays of food for the main course and left it there as our waitress took orders at another table. The rest of the staff left our server on an island by herself. You get the picture, not a great night. So I sent an e-mail to the restaurant, I did get a call back from Ace. But with business travel and the like, didn't get to actually discuss with him. But they had detailed feedback from my e-mail to take action on and through text messages, he got us in last night... We had a friend staying overnight and decided to give it another shot. When you're dropping $125 - $150 / person as a fine dining establishment, it's needs to be top notch. We got seated at our table. Jack was attentive. And then we ordered one glass of wine and two martinis... that took almost 20 minutes to get to the table. Here we go again! And when you order a $17-$20 martini, the top one inch of the glass can't be empty. Sorry! Moving on, two soups - lobster bisque was great. French Onion was not traditional French Onion. Much more like a cream based vs. broth. Two pieces of toast on top and a layer of cheese that was barely melted. Salads were solid. Caesar was very good. Asked for one wedge chopped which wasn't chopped at all. Entrees were great. I think their filet is top notch and the halibut was very nice, incredible flavor. Summary - It's my struggle. I like their food. And GREAT service can overcome almost any flaw in food quality. But Frankfort Chophouse, a high-end and expensive destination, can't seem to get their collective service and the details right to support the prices they are asking. FIX YOUR BARTENDING ISSUE! No table should have to wait more than 5-7 minutes to get a drink. COORDINATE YOUR STAFF - because when one aspect breaks down, it can ruin the entire experience. And I think its worth noting - not a single person from management, including Ace who 100% was there, every stopped by to touch base about our previous experience or our experience last night. That was probably the most disappointing aspect. We didn't want anything comped or free! Just someone to acknowledge and check-in to make sure this was better. Unfortunately, we will be taking the collective $2,500+ that we spent on our last two visits to another establishment going forward. I wish them well and hope they can survive in the harsh and unforgiving restaurant world. read more

Arrived early for a 745 reservation. Greeted right away w friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed delicious cocktails at the bar where the service was solid. Seated according to our reservation. Server was prompt but that was his highlight. We ordered two appetizers (Brussels and shrimp special). Both were average at best. More tasty cocktails. We shared the bone in ribeye. Very hard to believe they are buying prime grade meet. Temperature was pretty accurate but flavor was lacking. Paid for the $5 Cajun butter and it was disgusting. It was old and crusty and had no flavor. Baked potato was hard and tasted like it had been sitting. Overall pros were atmosphere and bar area as well as front end staff being friendly and helpful. Cons were our water never got refilled, bread came after our entrees. Server was quirky and not super attentive while support staff was very strange. Biggest con is they charge premium prices for average quality. And honestly very tasteless experience top to bottom. We purposely waited to try as we heard early on things started rough (to be expected). This is just another suburban steakhouse trying to function in a premium capacity unfortunately read more

My fiancé and I both ordered the cowboy ribeye medium rare with a strong sear. There was no sear on them but they did taste incredible. Came with a salad and roasted potatoes or a vegetable medley, we got the roasted potatoes - seasoned with an herb butter and lemon, they were excellent! You could upgrade to different sides if you wanted. I had the espresso martini and a blackberry cocktail (forgot the name), my fiancé had a couple old-fashions, all the drinks were delicious as well. Our total for 4 drinks & 2 steak dinners was $266. Definitely would come back, service was great and it was nicely lit inside as well. read more

So this is a new restaurant near our home and we were super excited to try it. We easily made reservations for Sunday after Valentine's Day. Once we arrived we were greeted warmly by the hosts and owner of the restaurant. We sat at the bar for a few moments as we arrived early before our reserved time. I had a French martini and my husband had an old fashion. Both were outstanding. The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous and the food was all wonderful. We had the lamb lollipops and oyster Rockefeller for appetizers, we split a dinner salad and each had the lobster bisque which was some of the best I have ever had. I ordered the lobster dinner and my husband had the tomahawk steak. Presentation was absolutely amazing and everything was cooked perfectly. Heard rave reviews from family and friends, so my wife and I gave the restaurant a try. The ambience is nice and the service good, except we could have done without the extensive schpeel about too many of the menu items. The French Onion Soup was not the crock of baked overflowing crispy cheese covering croutons and an onion broth, rather a thick onion broth with no crouton and a piece of cheese on top that was probably heated in a microwave. Our waiter replaced it with an ok tomato basil soup. The Caesar salad was bad and sent back. Both the soup and salad were removed from our bill. The scalloped potatoes were similar to the French Onion Soup in that a piece of cheese was put on top of the uninspired potatoes and heated , except the cheese was not melted very much. The creamed spinach was just bad. The scallop risotto was salty and not good. The rack of lamb was ok and cooked properly. Finally, it never ceases to amaze me how people dress when going out for supposedly a fine dining experience-baseball caps, t-shirts, sweatpants, etc. No dress code at this place. Just left Frankfurt chophouse and it was the most delicious meal we've had in a while. We started out with two spectacular cocktails, a pair& thyme martini and a lemon martini. Next we had baked clams which were spectacular. Probably the best fake clams I've ever had then we ordered our mains, which were a strip steak and swordfish with a mango sauce. Both came with a salad, which we had to stop eating because we were getting full. Everything was delicious and we will definitely go back again.
