Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen is smart. I liked that they set up their store to create an experience while also accommodating large crowds. On the day of our visit, the candy maker demonstrated the fudge-making process. Even though tens of millions of Americans make fudge at home, crowds still gathered to see the magical process of transforming ingredients into a large loaf of fudge. Opposite and adjacent to the fudge-making operation, there were four (maybe six) stations where fudge was being sold, so the undecided did not have to hold up the decided. I went with the turtle, chocolate fudge laced with pecans and caramel, and salted caramel cashew. In retrospect, they were too alike: fudge with caramel and a nut. I should have gone with the cherry fudge, mint, or raspberry chocolate. There were also sugar-free and vegan options. Note that at the time of the visit, if you purchased three, you can get the fourth one free. Service was fine. As I mentioned, the store was set up to expedite the purchase process - something I appreciated. read more

Another great stop on the Frankenmuth trail for Christmas. This one is just like the old-fashioned fudge stores ... a kitchen where they have a big marble slab on which they finalize the fudge, rowing it back and forth across the cooling surface. Fun to watch. It was nice to see the process for making fudge ... it made it an experience for the family. They had a number of selections of fresh fudge, four of which we tried (hint: buy three, get the fourth free) ... chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate raspberry, and Andes mint. These were lush treats ... I'm the chocolate fan, but I have to admit the Andes mint was also a winner. All get 4 stars for delish. For those that want less sugar, they also offer sugar-free ... but that is like an oxymoron to me ... you can't really savor real good fudge without it having sugar ... JMHO. Wow it is so peaceful on a week day at the Fudge Kitchen. We walked in and only one other person was in line. We got to sample a few flavors to see what we wanted. They charge about $10 per brick which varies depending on the weight. If you buy 3 you get one free. I came with my husband and father in law, so we decided to buy 3 of them to get the deal. They were all delicious. They do give you a few wooden knives to cut them. They also have a card that explains you have to keep them room temperature and to not put them in the fridge. You can freeze them for up to a year. They will last about 3 weeks at room temperature. I really suggest coming on a week day. We came Friday and it was a great experience. read more

I am shocked I haven't reviewed Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen sooner! My family has stopped here on our annual trip to Frankenmuth for as long as I can remember. If you're lucky you can always watch the employees make the fudge, which is really cool! This fudge shop offers plenty of options for everyone. My go-to is salted caramel cashew or rocky road. There's plenty of space to check out all the flavor offerings. They used to offer samples, but I'm unsure if that's a thing thanks to the pandemic. Everyone here has always been kind. We walked in as a large batch of caramel infused chocolate fudge was being molded on the cold slab of marble. It's fascinating to see this process done by hand and equally impressive is the vast variety of fudge concoctions produced inhouse. I think we spent nearly 15-minutes just watching the man shape and trim the huge log. I was content with watching but when he offered my family samples we all said yes. So rich, so chocolatey, so decadent and heavy. I can't really eat this stuff anymore but if I was to buy someone something special I'd consider coming here. read more

Staff was not friendly in any way. The one guy that makes the fudge was somewhat nice. I felt like I was inconveniencing them the whole time I was in there and they were dead. I ordered a half pound of fudge in which the person working there gave me some old piece of wrapped fudge that was dryer than my Great Grandma's pot roast. My whole family thought the fudge was awful. I guess I learned a lesson to ask for the fresh stuff because I did not get a full slab. Staff lacked energy which hurt the overall feel of the place. First of all this is an adorable fudge shop- love how you can watch the employees make the fudge right in front of you! We bought 4 flavors- chocolate, mint chocolate, maple and a vegan dark chocolate mint. I am someone who LOVES sweets and fudge, and I can't believe I am actually saying this....but the fudge was way too sweet. It was like the sugar content was off, they could have used much less and gotten that dreamy sweet confection just right. My husband, father in law and even my 9 year old daughter agreed- too sweet. None of us will eat any more of it which speaks volumes. Also the consistency is very gooey, wondering if the excess of sugar caused that. Wondering if we just got some off batches because the other reviews on here are generally very positive- but anyway, that was our experience. The maple fudge was pretty good. They have a lot of flavors from which to choose, but some are better than others. The prices are about the same as what you'd pay at one of the tourist trap fudge places you see up north, maybe less. That is to say, the prices are inflated and the quality is middle of the pack on many favors. Still, the quality isn't bad and they do make a few favors that I really like, those being the maple and dark chocolate. Some of the others, like the lighter chocolates and fruit-filled varieties fell flat. They were generous with the samples they offer of the fresh made chocolate. They also had taffy and other candy, too. If you want a souvenir paper hat, they're free. Not a bad way to waste a few minutes of your afternoon. After all, everyone loves chocolate. It's also kind of fun to watch the fudge-making process, too. read more

They also had tons of fun flavors like cookies & cream, mint chocolate chip, sea salt caramel, and my favorite of the whole trip, cinnamon bun! The day we went, they had different 20 flavors out. Yum! -They offer free generous sized samples. You could get a sample of every flavor if you wanted too, though if they have the cinnamon bun flavor, just buy that because it's AMAZING! -The staff were all super nice. They make the fudge right out front where everyone can watch. The people making it were friendly and explained every step of the way. They also would answer questions if anyone asked. Staff is very friendly and let's you have samples to help you choose which flavor you like. Reasonably priced and you get to watch the fudge being made. They always have the special Buy 3 slices get the fourth free. So it's around $24 for 4 slices of fudge. I tried the caramel w/ sea salt and also the Turtle and the Turtle won out, so I went and got a 1/2 pound and paid for that - about $7 which isn't unreasonable, also if you get one of those Frankenmuth coupon books there's a 10% off coupon in it. So it was like $6.80 for me after tax. THEN, I drifted over to where my friends were standing, watching the fudge man (lol) make fudge, and he gave us all samples after, of the Turtle fudge. STRAIGHT FROM THE FUDGE-MAKING TABLE, and still hot. Yum. He did some trivia, asked how many varieties of fudge the store has, and I guessed 25 and it was 24 ... so then I ended up with ANOTHER piece of fudge, to-go (free this time!), and I chose chocolate peanut butter.
