I love everything about Cherry Republic. I've been to locations in the traverse city area but never before in Frankenmuth. One warning - don't go in there hungry or you will buy everything! My favorite things they carry are the hot cherry salsa and the mixed nuts with dried cherries. They use such good quality of ingredients that you can literally taste the difference. Cherry Republic is the place to go in Frankenmuth! We had a GOOD time! We did the wine tasting and had some really great wines! Veronica helped us at the wine tasting and did a wonderful job of describing every 6 oz pour! We ended up getting 2 Balaton bottles with the complementary $4 off with a wine tasting. The cherry samples around the shop included cherry salsa, bbq sauce, teriyaki sauce. They also had cherry tea, slushies, granola, and more! You know, I never realized how many different things one can make out of cherries ... but Cherry Republic set me straight on that. We were out on a spelunking trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan and did the usual visits around the downtown area (chicken dinners and fudge shops), but we also tried Cherry Republic and we were glad we did. They have wine tastings (yes, some cherry wine too), cherry fudge, cherry salsa, cherry butters, cherry BBQ sauces, chocolate covered cherries ... well, you get the idea. They have an enormous selection of items and this is a neat place to try a number of them. Great place to get Christmas presents in the season, and a fun place all the year round., I believe this is a small chain with more than just this outlet ... about 7 outlets and all in Michigan, but that said it was a fun experience of tasting and testing all over the board. They will also ship for you to your home or friends, so its a great place for gifts. Give this place a try. read more

Huge fan of Cherry Republic, as I used to always stop by the Ann Arbor store, and I forgot Frankenmuth has one too. We stopped by yesterday when at the River Place Shops. They do wine tastings now for like $5 which is awesome, but it was 11am so we abstained, haha. One of the reasons I like the store is that they have samples of lots of their chocolate-covered cherries, as well as their salsa and other items, and I always avail myself of those. They took them away during COVID but now they are back, which is nice. My boyfriend ended up buying a bag of the sour cherry gummies - a little expensive, I think about $8 or $12, but those will be tasty to eat this week. Definitely recommend if you like cherry or cherry-flavored food and beverages. read more

Who knew Michigan cherries were such an amazing commodity? This place is a cult devoted to sweet deliciousness. (They picked up a new cult member by the time I left) They are smart enough to make sure that samples are plentiful. Staff was SUPER helpful with answering my questions. They all had a good sense of humor and made shopping enjoyable. We bought cherry gummy bears, cherry salsa, cherry BBQ sauce and even Cherry-Ayki sauce. Can't wait to get home and cook all this up. So after my fun day of walking and window shopping in downtown Frankenmuth I can now report about my favorite business called Cherry Republic. This storefront is located in the River Place shopping areas at 925 S. Main St. This business was established in 1989 by Bob Sutherland. I've been a frequent customer for 7 years with their store or online order shopping. My favorite weakness besides chocolate is mostly everything tasting Cherry flavored so I can agree this shop has it ALL! I have purchased over the years many of their tasty cherry products made with 75% of their land grown Montmorency Michigan Cherries! Photos attached too! I was in Downtown Frankenmuth on a beautiful Fall day for shopping, and stopped in here literally 15 minutes before closing. My sweet tooth wanted Chocolate Covered Cherries which they are famous for and one bottle of many delicious cherry flavored wines. While walking in, I was greeted by Cyndi who was pleasant and super friendly. She was kind enough to say take your time even though its 10 minutes to closing. Since my time was limited and I needed my dessert, or a sweet treat for my 1 hour drive home, I went over to the candy area. I grabbed a bag of "Imperial Chocolate covered cherries, 8 oz $9.95." Secondly, I was off to the clearance area of summer wines to browse through that she was nice to mention while she swept the floor. I bought their Cherry Republic Sunset Blush for $15.00. By the way this unique place has a Wine Tasting Room too just like up north in Glen Arbor and Traverse City. Michigan. I informed her when I was ready to pay at the counter that my birthday was on the 17th Friday Fri-Yay. Cherry Republic started as a joke to my family, I quickly got them on board to try some products, now they DEMAND I bring them food back when I stop there. I am a huge fan of this company and visit multiple stores several times a year. I enjoy the Frankenmuth location. It's a nice sized store full of delicious samples and a nice wine and soda sampling station. The staff is always pleasant and very friendly. I love how they package and wrap the products gift box ready when you buy items for others. I can't come here without making a purchase. The products here are all quality! It's not just a tourist stop that stocks mediocrity. The products are nicely priced, store well, and taste fantastic. The candy is amazing. The cherry sour balls are the best, the kids can't get enough. I also like the gummy sour cherries. The chocolate covered cherries are pure heaven. The chunky cookies are soft, chewy, and delicious. We also buy tons of the white chocolate cherry peanut butter. It's amazing. The cherry jalapeño beef stick is so good, with a nice kick. The milder one is equally good. The mustards and bbq sauces go nicely with these products. Since they started selling wine I usually buy a bottle or two for the house. They have some of the best cherry wine. Plus I love the little metal wine tumblers they sell. I actually fill it with water and sip from it all day. It keeps the water ice cold for hours! This is just a fun place! read more

Welcome to all things cherry! A wonderful little shop to grab your cherry favourites. Shop cherry snacks, wines, candies and more. All the while your supporting a Michigan based company. Prices can be a bit extreme, but you are in a specialty shop. They offer wine tasting. Of course it's cherry wine, but, there are several varieties. We like the bbq sauce and salsas. Maybe your into dried cherries or cherry tea. They've got those, too. We found a good deal on souvenirs and loaded up on chocolate covered candies. They do sell summer sausage but I recommend you go down the street to Kern's. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They're never pushy or rude. All things cherry!!! We came here this afternoon and tried several products. We tried almost all of the products we ended up purchasing and I would highly recommend going in there even if you don't like cherry, (which I'm not a huge fan of) but we still ended up buying some great tasting very flavorful, barbecue sauce, queso dip, which went well with the tortilla chips, and the summer sausage with dried cherries, which we did not try, but I am super excited! read more

Right before going back to school we asked our kids if they did everything they wanted to do over the summer. Our son said, "I really wanted to go to Cherry Republic." Since we have a fall trip planned to TC, we decided we would take him to the Frankenmuth location. We are so glad that we did! It is a great store! So many cherry based things in here. You can't go wrong. The samples help in deciding but there is so much more it makes it hard to choose! Every year on President's day weekend, we gather with some friends to do our winter getaway in Frankenmuth. this year, we really stopped in this shop and actually shopped. the chocolate covered cherries were a favorite as a snack gift for family ( liked so much that i have an order for next year). really like sampling the products, as the Mrs. cannot handle spicy items. will be back in Feb. for our next winter getaway. read more

The only reason I'm rating this place a 4 is because we waited a long time for someone to help us with wine tasting. It was quite busy and they only had one person working the register as well as the tasting bar. While we waited we helped ourselves to sampling the many cherry products in the store. Most of it was shockingly good. I didn't think I'd be a fan of so many things that included cherries. Once we did the tasting, it was very cheap. You can try up to 5 free of charge. If you pay $7 you can try the entire menu which was about 14 wines. I walked away with two bottles of hard cherry apple cider and a jar of cherry horseradish spread. read more
