Cherry Republic is the place to go in Frankenmuth! We had a GOOD time! We did the wine tasting and had some really great wines! Veronica helped us at the wine tasting and did a wonderful job of describing every 6 oz pour! We ended up getting 2 Balaton bottles with the complementary $4 off with a wine tasting. The cherry samples around the shop included cherry salsa, bbq sauce, teriyaki sauce. They also had cherry tea, slushies, granola, and more! I would highly recommend this as a stop around this cute quaint town in Michigan!

This place caught my FIL's eyes. Some cool wines or slushy wines. Sunset blush and the late harvest Riesling are quite palatable. They gave us some oyster crackers too. The flight for 6 samples for $5.

Who knew Michigan cherries were such an amazing commodity? This place is a cult devoted to sweet deliciousness. (They picked up a new cult member by the time I left) They are smart enough to make sure that samples are plentiful. Staff was SUPER helpful with answering my questions. They all had a good sense of humor and made shopping enjoyable. We bought cherry gummy bears, cherry salsa, cherry BBQ sauce and even Cherry-Ayki sauce. Can't wait to get home and cook all this up. They gift box for free and have cherry wine and soda sampling.

How Sweet & Thoughtful she added these two items in my bag FREE, So Thank You Sweet Cyndi! 9/16/2021

September 16, 2021 Here's another "Sweet yet Cherry" business review. So after my fun day of walking and window shopping in downtown Frankenmuth I can now report about my favorite business called Cherry Republic. This storefront is located in the River Place shopping areas at 925 S. Main St. This business was established in 1989 by Bob Sutherland. I've been a frequent customer for 7 years with their store or online order shopping. My favorite weakness besides chocolate is mostly everything tasting Cherry flavored so I can agree this shop has it ALL! I have purchased over the years many of their tasty cherry products made with 75% of their land grown Montmorency Michigan Cherries! Photos attached too! I was in Downtown Frankenmuth on a beautiful Fall day for shopping, and stopped in here literally 15 minutes before closing. My sweet tooth wanted Chocolate Covered Cherries which they are famous for and one bottle of many delicious cherry flavored wines. While walking in, I was greeted by Cyndi who was pleasant and super friendly. She was kind enough to say take your time even though its 10 minutes to closing. Since my time was limited and I needed my dessert, or a sweet treat for my 1 hour drive home, I went over to the candy area. I grabbed a bag of "Imperial Chocolate covered cherries, 8 oz $9.95." Secondly, I was off to the clearance area of summer wines to browse through that she was nice to mention while she swept the floor. I bought their Cherry Republic Sunset Blush for $15.00. By the way this unique place has a Wine Tasting Room too just like up north in Glen Arbor and Traverse City. Michigan. I informed her when I was ready to pay at the counter that my birthday was on the 17th Friday Fri-Yay. Since being a faithful and happy customer for years she ended my day with a surprise jar of their new Bacon Flavored Cherry Spread! I tasted a sample too with a cracker before leaving and Omgeee its a must to buy!!! Photo Attached They grow 75% of the country's variety of Montmorency Cherries and use the Ruby Red Morsels in over 200 products. This location along with 6 others: Ann Arbor, Charlevoix, Glen Arbor, Holland & Traverse City sells: Cherry Wines, Jellies, Salsas, Candy, Cookies, Cheese, Soft Drinks, Strudel, Jerky, Sausage, Cakes, Muffin and Pancake mixes plus Cherry Nut Mixes. Don't forget Pies OH My! This is A Local Michigan Sweet & Savory Cherry Business! Store Hours: Monday - Thursday 11AM - 6PM Friday & Saturday 11AM - 8PM Sunday 11AM - 6PM Phone: (231) 226-3039 Cherry Republic offers online ordering from their catalog or request one in the mail. Place an order for yourself or gifts for that special day. Find your favorite cherry item and brighten someone's day with a Cherry Republic Gift Box to ship near or far from the Cherry Republic! Order Toll Free: 1-800-206-6949 I recommend this location and this Sweet business of Cherry Republic. Their humorous sweet slogan is: "Life, Liberty, Beaches and Pie!"

Cherry Republic started as a joke to my family, I quickly got them on board to try some products, now they DEMAND I bring them food back when I stop there. Salsa, BBQ Sauce, Jam, and in the fall they have a Cherry Pear Butter that changed my life. Best spread I've ever have. Everyone is so kind, the vibe is great, and they truly want to help. It should be a must stop for anyone in the area.

Loved Cherry republic, the store had so many fun samples to try! I love the Cherry wine and chocolate covered cherries. This is a must if you are in Frankenmuth

    Shannon M.

I've been to the location of Cherry Republic in Traverse City; this one (in Frankenmuth's River Place shops) isn't quite as big but still has a broad selection of cherry-flavored stuff, including candies, dried fruits, wine, pop, salsas, jellies, and more! They also have a variety of gift boxes. There's a tasting bar (proclaiming "Wine for the tall, Pop for the small") as well. So if you're a cherry fan or just looking for a Michigan gift, check out Cherry Republic!

The salad was just okay. Definitely not a traditional caprese because there was not a speck of basil or balsamic glaze in sight. Also served with cucumbers. The chicken was lacking in flavor and a small portion. Also, the menu completely had caprese spelled incorrectly. I feel if you call yourself a bistro you should at least be aware of the correct spelling of food you serve. The crab Mac n cheese was good, however the kitchen completely forgot to add the ritz Parmesan crust that the menu listed. I was able to get a side of it and mix it in at least. The menu also listed a side of coleslaw which I never received. Now for the bad. We had a reservation and the service was soooo slow. I understand being short staffed, etc but it was frustrating. Gratuity was added to our bill since we had a larger group, however the server took the itemized receipts upon returning our cards. This felt sketchy because you were prompted to tip on your card with the receipt you needed to sign and leave with the waitress. If you hadn't read your initial bill she left you wouldn't have any idea that a tip was already added. Luckily I noticed so I was able to inform my fellow guests. Also, there is a 3% credit card fee added to your bill if you pay with a card. Seems a little outdated and like a money grab. Overall, I'd probably not go out of my way to come back. Felt like a lot of hype for little return which was disappointing. This seemed like my kind of spot. Nonetheless it's an hour away from my home as it is.

We got to this place and were a bit timid. It looked like a house from the outside but, as you walk in, it's a wonderful looking store and winery. Everyone there was very nice to us. They were very genuine and forward with any answers they had for our questions. They serve cheese and crackers, kinda like smaller charcuterie boards so you can enjoy as you wine taste and they sell their own wine glasses as souvenirs inside the shop. For the wine tasting, they give you a menu of wines with their flavor profiles and a piece of paper where you write your desired sips to give them so they may prepare it for you as you go to your seat. They have outside seating and during the fall it is an amazing experience! I can't recommend enough coming to visit this place at least once, if you're in the area! It's a cute little place to come visit and the wine is very good! I recommend the A Maize 'N Blue if you like sweet wines!

The inside of the winery was super cozy. They had a seating section outside which was wonderful because it wasn't too cold or two hot, the weather was perfect. They offered a variety of wines. These included a preset menu or we had the option of choosing the wines we wanted to try. We also bought a charcuterie board which consisted of cheeses and deli meats. I bought some jam to spice it up. The wines and food were great! Finally the girls who were serving were super friendly. I would love to go back when we visit Michigan again

We stopped in while traveling up north and were pleasantly surprised to find a cute little wine tasting room in the small town of West Branch, of all places. I've been to West Branch several times before (we usually stay at a cabin on the water with our friends), but I've never seen anything associated with a winery here before, so I had absolutely no idea what I was missing! They had quite an array of reasonably-priced wines, starting around $11 and going up from there to around $22 per bottle. We were offered a free wine sampling of a couple of different varieties, including a semi-dry, but buttery chardonnay ($11), which had a nice, rich flavor for a lower-priced bottle of wine. I would recommend that anyone who likes white wines. It was a hit with me after just one sip. It wasn't too dry or too sweet. It had some nice, subtle notes that I could detect afterward. Next, we tried a chocolate wine. My husband was very hesitant at first, but came around on it after giving it a chance. I liked it, myself, too. It was a richer wine, probably not for everybody's taste, but I found it quite suitable. We were told it was infused with Mackinac Island Fudge, so that must be what gave it its incredibly distinct chocolate taste. If you like chocolate or fudge, this one is a winner. The manager/owner suggested mixing it with Modern Craft's cherry wine for optimal effect. He said the two bring out the best notes in each other. He then paired them together for me and you know what? He was right. Count me in! Another winner. He was both engaging and quite knowledgeable about the wines they had in stock. He definitely knew his stuff. Beyond that, there were several other interesting wines at a mid-range price point that looked worth trying, including a blackberry wine and a variety of lighter, fruity wines, suitable for a summer evening. They had a special on some discontinued seasonal wine, running about 50% off, which was a bargain. Aside from the tasting room, the space is home to a small gift shop featuring home decor and accessories. I didn't bother to check it out too well, but looking around I saw some cute things that I would like. I wish I had taken a little more time to check out the gift shop as well, but I focused my visit solely on the wine tasting. I'm really glad we stopped in. It made for most pleasant side trip foray. I would never have known this place was here if I hadn't decided to stop into town just to look around for an hour or two.
