Frame 2000 - Framing my photo - Framing Near Me - Venice, California

Earlier this year, I brought an original textured painting to this shop for framing. The staff were friendly at first and helped me choose a frame. We specifically discussed the importance of leaving space between the artwork and the plexiglass so the paint would not be damaged. When I picked it up and unwrapped it at home, I saw no visible separation between the plexiglass and the painting. I called immediately, and the owner explained that the frame's thickness didn't allow for more space but assured me there was a small gap I simply couldn't see. I accepted that explanation at the time, though I was surprised they made that decision without consulting me. Over the following months, the artwork appears to have shifted, and now the plexiglass is pressing directly against the surface, leaving visible marks and stains (see attached photo). This not only compromises the appearance but risks permanent damage to the piece. When I called today to explain the situation, I expected them to ask me to bring the frame back for a fix. It's a large piece and transporting it is inconvenient, but I was willing to do it -- mistakes happen. Instead, the owner was hostile, dismissive, and refused to take responsibility. Rather than offering a solution, he made false accusations, such as claiming I had chosen four frames and didn't want to pay more.. This was both unprofessional and completely untrue. I ultimately hung up because of his aggressive attitude. I chose this shop because of positive reviews, and I'm glad others had good experiences. But if things don't work out the first time, don't expect accountability or professionalism from this business. read more

Most wood is fake and it's WAY too expensive. I regretted this place and the $500+ it cost for a minor print to be framed.

Extremely good quality framing however very expensive. Would use again but probably not for any pieces worth less than the framing itself.

In my opinion I have found Frame 2000 unprofessional. In August 2024 I purchased a very expensive frame +$1400 for a family portrait. Gradually after some time hanging on the wall (less than a year), we noticed the frame start to come apart on one end. So, I wrote Sam his responses are as follows: Sam +"The frame looks like it has been dropped and has a lot of damages on it, so we recommend replacing it. You can bring it by to our shop anytime we're open seven days a week. Just because you need to replace the frame there will be cost of replacing it to a new frame." After confirming we've never dropped the frame, as there isn't even scratch on the exterior. Issue is the bonding in that 1 specific corner... his response... Sam +"from the pictures you sent it looks like the frame wasn't taken care of by you. So we really can't do anything about it without Re framing it. We gave a perfect frame when you picked it up, after that it is your responsibility to take care of it." Proceed at your own risk. I will NOT be returning to Frame 2000. Sam at Frames 2000 came highly recommended by an artist whose work I purchased. I swung by with the art I needed framed, as well as a scrap of my wallpaper from my family home I wanted framed. Sam worked with me for 15 minutes to come up with a good frame / mat combo. When I was on the fence, he steered me towards frames that were on sale or more affordable. He took special care with my family's wallpaper, and understood how priceless it was to me. The frames were finished ahead of schedule, and we had a lovely conversation on either end of the purchase. He even carried the frames out to my car for me, and provided me with some hooks for safely hanging the art in my home, which definitely saved me a trip to the hardware store. I recommended a friend to the store, and he did an excellent job on her work, too. 10/10! read more

I went into Frame 2000 looking to have two small watercolor paintings I acquired in Istanbul framed. These were personal gifts and one of a kind from an Istanbul based artist, so I was nervous about the framing process and curious about how well the paintings would be taken care of if or when I decided to leave them in the hands of the shop. When I entered the store, I was greeted by Will, who told me he was the lead framer and had been working at the shop for 25 years. He guaranteed me that the paintings would be cared for personally by him, and he talked me through the numerous matte and framing options and gave me his opinion on which would make the paintings look best. I was looking for custom framing for two movie posters that were important to my husband and found Frame 2000 with a quick Google search. First, I was happy to see the location had a parking lot (which is amazing in Venice to avoid street parking). Second, the service was so great!! I got honest pricing from the shop and there were plenty of options to choose from when it came to the frame style and the glass. For the two posters, I was told it would be a week. Promised a pick up time in about two weeks but finished in one and a half. I was very happy with the product. They are located on the west side of Lincoln. The person helping us made a recommendation for glass, mounting and frame options, and after we tried out a few other combinations, ultimately returned to his original recommendation. He had a great eye for what complemented the art. They also have nice framed pieces for sale at the store. Frame 2000 was clear about the price and timing expectations. I worked with Beto, who I think must have been there forever because this guy was amazingly professional and did a great job helping me pick out mats and different frames as I actually had eight frames done at one time and I wanted each one to be unique and different based on what the picture was I went in there several times and each time this guy somehow remembered my first name which shocked me but what really made me happy was the fact that they open at 8 AM which no one else does and they were able to complete everything in two weeks and it was actually done earlier than that.
