    Lower front of the jersey.

[Update - May 22, 2025]: After I posted the below review, the co-owner contacted me with a message that only made me feel worse. They claimed I caused the damage by removing the jersey--despite their own video showing that their process uses plastic fasteners that pierce the fabric. That's exactly what I found, and I was never told that would happen. They also berated me for not bringing this to their attention sooner (this would be impossible, as the jersey was framed and the holes were not visible). Even more confounding, the co-owner attempted to offer a solution (which was the same, inadequate solution which had been previously proposed before) which conditioned a full refund upon me returning the frame, even though I'd already told them I discarded it based on their promise to reimburse me. They even said collectors are "very emotional," which felt weird, condescending, and dismissive. Unfortunately, instead of taking responsibility, the business chose to double down, shift blame, reverse their position, and misrepresent what happened. [Original Review] If you're a memorabilia collector, please be cautious. I brought in an autographed authentic Giannis Antetokounmpo jersey--an item of significant collector value--for custom framing. I chose this shop specifically because they're known for framing sports memorabilia, so I assumed they would treat the item with proper care. The in-store experience was fantastic. Eventually, the frame began creaking and I removed the jersey from the frame. To my surprise, I discovered the jersey had been punctured with multiple plastic fasteners, leaving visible holes in the fabric. I later learned this is a standard part of their process--even though I was never informed that they would be putting holes in my jersey. No serious collector would accept that kind of alteration, especially without consent. When I brought this damage to the shop's attention they were responsive and collaborative. However, I quickly became confused with their proposed resolution. After I sent photos of the damaged jersey, they initially claimed that the fact I had removed the jersey from the frame myself may have caused the damage. However, the holes were clearly from plastic fasteners inserted through the fabric, and I removed the jersey carefully. They sent me a video showing their own removal process on a different jersey--and even in that video, holes in that jersey were plainly visible (when I questioned this, they even claimed the holes would "go away with ironing," which completely misses the point--this is a signed, collector-grade jersey where any alteration, no matter how small, permanently affects value). It's clear that their standard method involves putting holes through the fabric, regardless of consent or item value. Shifting blame to the customer for discovering damage they caused only added insult to injury. After some back-and-forth, they agreed to reimburse both the cost of the framing and replace the jersey. Relying on that promise, I discarded the frame--it was creaking, unusable, and I had been told a refund was forthcoming. Later, they reversed course and refused to refund the framing cost, claiming the frame had to be returned--even though the damage had already occurred and I had relied on their commitment. At this point, their offer was to simply "buy" the damaged jersey from me for $515 (the price I had initially paid for the jersey over 2 years ago), but I did not accept that offer, as it still left me uncompensated for the framing and failed to address the core issue: they damaged a special collector's item without permission and refused to take full responsibility. Extremely disappointing experience, to say the least. I'm just relieved I didn't entrust them with any of my more valuable game-worn jersey pieces. If you're a serious collector, please be cautious--this shop's framing methods may permanently damage your valuable items, and their customer service doesn't reflect the level of care they advertise.

Years ago I had something framed here and they did a good job. So, after getting indifferent assistance and an absurdly inflated price for my new project at a place in Santa Monica, I went back to Universal (in my neighborhood, Venice) and met with Fernando. He could not have been more helpful, finding me exactly the frame I was looking for, completely "got" what I wanted. Though it took some time and, literally, they had to iron out some wrinkles on the piece, it came out great. He's knowledgable, easy to deal with, and miracle of miracles these days, really seems to like his job. Not cheap, but the cliche abides- you get what you pay for.

Mario and friend patiently finding the perfect height so the mirror and poster complement each other.

I live in a condo in Santa Monica. Years ago we remodeled our building's interior. When it came to finding artwork, I turned Universal Art. They helped me track down an iconic poster of Santa Monica. They framed in in the most specular way with a wavy frame. It has become our community's mascot so to speak. They installed it for us with a locking mechanism which has enabled it to remain safe for decades. This year we repainted the lobby so the image had to removed. Once again we turned to Universal Art to assist us in remounting it. They also helped us mount a very heavy mirror. Fernando and Mario, were so professional to work with: on time, polite, organized and appreciative. Since I live out of town now, I am so appreciative of the excellence at Universal Art Gallery. They are top-notch!

Thank you, Fernando and UAG team, for this amazing work. They did the frame and background just as we had in mind. They even went above and beyond by treating the natural feathers to make sure no bugs were left behind. The price quoted was very fair compared to the other 3 stores in the area.

Worked with Nino on creating two very special custom pieces to commemorate my daughter high school sports career. He was incredible, went above and beyond to ensure that they got it right the first time. I enjoyed the process of working with him. Both custom pieces turned out amazing. My daughter was happy and could not believe the attention to detail. UAG's work is amazing and second to none. We are definitely going to use them again. Thanks Nino for taking great care of our family.

    One is white. One yellow.

Would never come back. Brought in a frame that matched white color to another frame. Picked it up it was yellow. As if it was left in the sun for 2 weeks while it was there. They obviously don't take good care of your art or belongings while there. Glad there's more options around. But mad I have to buy a whole new frame now. So they both match again. So tacky.

Awesome football jersey with individual photos and professional color matting.

There is no better framer for your art, sports memorabilia, family photos or crazy projects than Universal Art Gallery. Lucas and his team walk you through everything from the time you bring your cherished piece in until they return you a museum quality masterpiece. Their vision in turning what ever you bring in, into a showpiece in your house is unmatched. If your looking at that old frame, picture or jersey sitting in the corner and want to spice it up and or protect its value... pay Universal a visit.

experienced, professional, and very kid friendly - thanks nino!

The owner was super nice and friendly and was super cool to talk to and super duper friendly and so was the swimsuit designer. I didn't get the vibe that the other dude on here wrote about he must have been having a bad day. Super friendly owner and the chick who makes the bikini's is awesome and she custom makes them.
