Really enjoy this pizzeria. A favorite for the locals, and some of the Spurs that live near by. Seating outside is very refreshing under under the large trees. Local bands play here regularly. Can even order a "take-a-bake" if you can't stay or want to enjoy a night in. Some of their specialty pizza's might sound strange to some, but you really need to try them. They have one special that you get two slices of each of their specialty pies - that is the way to go for a first visit. It was perfect for me & my husband. read more

I love fralos. We came at around 9 on a Saturday and it luckily wasn't too busy. Perfect place on a summer night. I love sitting outside under the lights with the acoustic musician while eating delicious pizza. We got the sampler of course. My fav two were the Baja shrimp and the pear and prisuitto one. It is a little expensive for San Antonio area but being in the nicer part of town and using good ingredients I don't mind too much. read more

I love this place. I am a picky eater who loves pizza, and there are only two places I'll go for pizza. Fralo's is one of those places. They have a great atmosphere, and the BYOB is awesome. However, it's the pizza that really makes the trip to Leon Springs worth it. Admittedly, you do have to be a fan of thin crust pizza (and theirs is so good!), but the toppings that you can choose from absolutely put everyone else to shame! The ingredients are always fresh, and some of the combinations that they have right there on the menu are to die for, not to mention the fact that you can build up your own pizza with whatever you want on it. They are somewhat pricey, so I don't get to indulge as often as I'd like, but for a nice night out with the hubby or the girls (or guys!) it just can't be beat. read more

Yelp reminded me on how our dinner date was. It was BAD. Service was horrible and the food was even worse. My wife ordered what she thought was the "healthy" pizza with lamb and feta cheese. When it came out it had over a pound of mozzarella provolone mix in addition to all the other items noted in the menu. My wife ate one slice and couldn't do more. It was like biting into a block of cheese. After at least 30 minutes of no attention from servers or anyone, someone finally came to ask if we needed anything. We mentioned our displeasure with the pizza and were told we would get a discount. At the end of the day we were given half price on my wife's pizza (although we only ate a slice and a half). I'm unhappy at the entire experience. Seems his place is doing well as it was packed, but they really need more servers. On my opinion the pizza is way overpriced. We will likely never go back. If the place was closer to home we would likely go back for drinks and to listen to music, that's about the only good part. read more

Excellent pizza place up by Boerne Stage road. Its not listed on thier menu, but they do have vegan cheese for their pizzas! They also have a huge selection of toppings. Previously is was BYOB but now they have a beer and wine menu. You can still bring your own but they charge you a $5 cork fee. They seem to have live music everytime we go, so I am not sure if its an every night thing or just special days. Worth the short drive from San Antonio though and if for somereason you're still hungry, The Point Park and Eats is close by. read more

I love Fralo's. I discovered it on Yelp and after a recent visit gave myself a hand slap when I realized I had never sent a review their way! Anytime a place is BYOB, you can probably count it earning a couple stars from me. So that's where I begin my Fralo's review with the fact that I have drank some of the most delicious (and least expensive) beers and wines on their patio - because I brought it from home. That's such a plus. Their pizza is just woohoo! incredible. On my last visit I split a Little Hottie with a friend. Doesn't that sound naughty? Well, it kind of was. It's a pizza with spicy tomato sauce, spicy italian sausage, fresh roma tomatoes, red onions, fresh jalapeno, corn, cilantro all living in harmony on some tasty handmade dough. It was sort of Mexican meets Italian. Superb. And the venue is lovely. Sit out on the patio and listen to music (It was a tad too loud last visit but that's because we were hoping to chat a bit more at our table). I have been to Fralo's a few times and each time I have enjoyed a delicious, unique pizza. They give you so many options for toppings, its hard to not get a great pizza. This last time I went I got the whole wheat crust which tasted great and made feel like I was being all healthy and stuff... I then proceeded to use the creamy pesto sauce as a base, so I guess it doesn't count. But it was tasty, nonetheless! To top it all off, this place is BYOB, which I love! Only a $5 corkage fee. A great place for superb pizza, craft beer, and local music. They have a nice covered outdoor patio/garden area. Their craft beer selection is most excellent, better than most places. Their pizza is awesome with lots of variety from the traditional. However, I was not at all a fan of their Arancini appetizer, it's fried risotto ball. Fried rice-yes!!! But fried up rice-oh no! Weird texture and just bleah. Outside of that, Thayer salads were awesome and pizza craft beer and music, one great hangout! read more

I was so disappointed!! I had heard some good things about the place and was excited about trying it so on our way home from a job site in Center Point, in our grubbies, we stopped for pizza. It was very casual dining outside and the acoustic live music was very nice, but the prices seemed high for the product and the service was a bunch of teenaged kids who hadnt a clue . If i am going to pay high dollar for a product that isnt really a high end product, i expect the wait staff to be knowledgeable about the menu and perhaps even helpful...they were not. I also was grossed out by the fly buzzing around in the shaker jar of crappy powdered parmesan adorning our table. And the pizza was burned on the bottom. I was a Chef for 22 years and while a bit of char is acceptable, this was clearly too hot an oven for the crust. It was just one more example of S and M eating in San Antonio...Stand and Model. Never coming back the food was bland, absolutley no flavor, service was horrible our waiter forgot our garlic bread, told us the lasagna the cook was sending out was burned so he sent it back. I had such high hopes for this place- because of the reviews and recommendations from friends. Unfortunately this restaurant was a disappointment. To start off, when we walked in to the patio to be seated, the hostess looked at us as if we were bothering her with a ridiculous request. Our waitress was very sweet but service was very slow. We ordered bruschetta and received it about 40 minutes later after asking if it would be coming soon. We were told that the kitchen was waiting on bread and it would be here shortly. The tomatoes were flavorless and quite honestly we only ate it because we were so hungry. Had we known it would be another 30 minutes to get our actual pizza we would've cancelled our order. We were told that the kitchen was running behind and that's why our order was delayed. An update would have been appreciated as we wasted almost 2 hours here and were not impressed at all with the pizza. We've had better at Peter Pipers Pizza. I write that in all seriousness. For $26 this pizza was not worth the price or wait. read more

Let me be honest-- we LOVE Fralo's. We love everything about the atmosphere here and the live music tonight was lovely. The only reason I'm so disappointed with our dining experience tonight is due to the careless service we received tonight from both the kitchen staff and our server. We ordered salads which were great; however, upon nearly finishing mine I found a hair in the bottom of the bowl. In addition to this my boyfriend and I only had our water refilled once throughout the evening...we got our water before our salad and then it was only refilled once when we were about 75% finished with our pizza despite trying to get out waiters attention (yet, some of the servers still had time to sit and chat which is also clearly visible from the patio through the window...) and having two empty glasses on the table for over half an hour. We both contemplated saying something, but our waiter was so hard to come by that it would have just elongated an already unpleasant meal out. Regardless, we tipped decently but this is is not the Fralo's we love and are used to. After tonight, we are kinda skeptical about coming back, but next time we return I hope you guys can get it together because, Fralo's, we know you can do better. :-( read more

Its niche is that you can sit outside and drink beer (bring your own), and let your kids play so you can talk to the adults. The pizza is adequate (if you like thin crust) but not outstanding. You had better like kids if you go during peak times, because there are plenty of them running around unsupervised. The staff is young, and sometimes service can be slow. read more

Most AWESOME pizza place in all of San Antonio! You can get just about anything you would ever want on a pizza. It's an amazing place and to top it all off (drum roll) you can bring your own beer or wine! This is not a cheap Dominos or Pizza Hut type place, this is high class dining in a casual atmosphere. Typical full-size pizza is about $26. I highly recommend the sampler pizza where you get to try like 8 different types of pizza. It just doesn't get any better than this! read more

Just had a late dinner after a day at Sea World in San Antonio. This place freakn rocked! Not only could we be served after 12 midnight but the food was OUTSTANDING! Our waiter Tony killed it by helping us picking some specialty pizzas that were fantastic. The Spinaco "lamb" pizza was awesome and the pear and brochette was incredible. Fralo's is a great restaurant out in the Leon Springs area. Absolutely worth the drive when the wait isn't super long. Has a beautiful outdoor patio. At night with the lights up makes for a great, relaxing atmosphere. Largely outdoor seating-- Dog friendly! Live music! They also have some indoor seating and a bar area. That patio is a huge highlight of this place. It's great for families, friends, dates. Their hand tossed pizza tastes super fresh and delicious. They also allow BYOB. When they get super busy, it can get really slow though. We waited over an hour for our food. The first time I've been we had a really good experience, but after this last time-- honestly it's not worth waiting over an hour in between appetizers and pizza with the cost that it is. I'd rate closer to 3.5 stars. Still a place to at least try once! read more

I showed up close to closing so instead of dining in I asked for the pizza to go. From the minute I walked in the entire staff was rude and confrontational. I stepped outside and sat down to wait for the pizza, but after half an hour of waiting I knew something was up. I went in to check on the status and the pizza was ready but the staff had neglected to give me any indication that my order was ready. The staff continued to be rude as I grabbed my pizza and left. I was here for a friend's bday gathering and I was going to take some pictures of the variety of pizza we ordered since we probably got everything on the menu, but we ate them all before I had a chance. I'm not a pizza expert, nor I'm claiming to be one, but their pizza are outstanding, even the veggie pizzas are good. It is BYOB, but they charge $7 cork fee, not a big fan of that though. They have about 15 craft beers on tap, including 5 Texas beers, bonus for that. We have a party of 20, and they were able to put all of us together without any problems, service is friendly, even though there were only 2 staff that day, fast and efficient. Parking space can be muddy after the rain, so careful if you are all dressed up and don't want any mud on you. read more
