My boyfriend and I have stopped by 2 times having the same bartender serving us on each visit. The first time he orders an old fashion, in which he was not impressed with. You can tell the bartender was not equipped with curating this drink. The 2nd visit he ordered a tequila sunrise and it didn't even have the layer of the obvious colors that are in this drink. When we got the bill, there was a $3 fee added for the juice, excuse me what???? That was a first that we have seen before and my boyfriend was not happy. He brought his dismay up to the bartender but said that is just the way things are. He is not a skilled bartender nor does he have the customer service touch. The bar is very small so can fill up easily and feels rather tight since the walls are so close to the seating surrounding it but there is plenty of seating outside. The first visit there was a live musician playing acoustic guitar where he sings covers to songs of your choice. My boyfriend and I had fun requesting some songs for him to sing, in which he was very talented. Didn't mind, because I just wanted to check this place out. I sat at the bar and was greeted and given a menu. There seems to be plenty of seating inside and outside. The bar opens up to the patio, which gives a clear view of Fralo's next door. Many of the cocktails on the menu looked classic, but with a contemporary "twist".To start I ordered a raspberry French 75 (which was very refreshing). Next drink was the Aztec old fashioned, which was very tasty! My only interaction with the bartenders was ordering my drinks and communicating when I wanted to close my tab. I was sitting at the bar and I found it a little strange that there was no attempt from the bartenders to make conversation. I'm not expecting to hear your life story , but at least ask, "Is this your first time here?" , "Let me tell you a little about our menu....", or "My name is..... let me know if you need anything." Nothing. Oh wait, one of the bartenders, did happen to say "Our kitchen doesn't open until 4 , so if you're wanting to order food....". I just said "No problem, I'm just ordering drinks." Aside from that, Bar 301 has a very nice ambiance and a relaxed atmosphere. The drinks are great and judging from the menu, the food looks pretty good too. Stopped in for a quick drink but there was nothing quick about it. We were seated at a table and waitstaff took a very long time to come around to the table and take our drink order. The drinks were also way too expensive. A single Ranch Water made with Casamigos blanco tequila was $17. Dear Lori H, thank you for your prompt response. Please know that I am fully aware that Casamigos would be an upgrade, which is precisely why I ordered it instead of a well tequila. I have ordered many Ranch Waters from many establishments with upgraded tequila, and this is why I have decided to mention the high price because it was steep in comparison to the many other bars/restaurants I have visited. Our first time going to Bar 301 was great. We decided to go back on Monday for food and drinks. Bartender tells us food is only Friday and Saturday. Fine- all good. Before going I reached out to make sure there indeed was food. I called multiple times and got a busy signal every time. So I sent a FB message asking if food was available. I got a response two hours later telling me to text a number. I thought that was weird. Just tell me yes or no. But I entertained it and texted - no response. The food was really delicious the first time so we figured we'd try again. Guess what? No food. I was really disappointed because this was our second attempt in one week to go there for date night AND we had a sitter. My husband already said we wouldn't go back. Edit to add: Lori, I called at 3 PM - right when the bar opened and again not long after. Issue is not about not answering a phone. It's the inconsistency with serving food. The bartender told us Friday. Your website says Friday. Maybe update your website with "food availability is subject to change". Also, why should I be texting Frank to ask? That should be something you do and then let me know. Or something like, "I'm not sure if food will be available tonight. LET ME FIND OUT FOR YOU." It's called customer service. We came to Bar 301 for the music, and were impressed with the setting, the atmosphere, and the food. It's a neighborhood place in Leon Springs with a big patio and TVs with sports. It also has an upscale feel because of the upholstered chairs and thoughtfully crafted food and drinks. We stayed and enjoyed cocktails (dirty martini) and dessert--chocolate, whipped cream, and berries in a glass. The music keeps things lively, but does not overpower conversation. This place was recommended by my brother and I had a great experience. The bartender Mike was amazing. The drinks were unique and made with quality liquor, fresh herbs, and flavorful bitters. Great place with live music and cold drinks! I was in town and my friend recommended this place since I asked for a place with live music that didn't have a crowd. As you walk in you notice this is an upscale bar. Older crowd, people dressed in nice clothes, and great service. Obviously, the prices reflected it. We sat at the bar and started with old fashions and then ordered the Wagyu Sliders. Highly doubt the meat was actual Wagyu, but they still tasted great. As it for later we decided to go outside. Probably a mistake, as people started to get to the bar service got slow. To the point that they ignored us at one point. I ordered a couple of Lagavulin 16 (@ $25 an ounce) and that seemed to get the servers attention. But quickly went back to ignoring us. UPDATE: Well it wasn't until I posted the picture did I receive any response. The issues is NOT the bugs, but in Frank's accusations and treatment of us when we clearly had done nothing wrong. I can't believe we had to defend wanting a new glass of wine when we were unsure of which of those two bugs was actually in the drink to begin with. I had previously stated that I had no complaints about the staff or service, but I cannot believe that an owner would go out of his way to insult a patron in a time when restaurants are suffering. There was a problem, The waitress took care of it, and we moved on with no intention of leaving a bad review. But then Frank had to take a jab, and accuse us of being in the wrong and saying that he had a video. Yes Frank, you do have video... and I have pictures as well. I'm wondering if you've had a chance to take a look back? I'll just wait for your humble apology. I thought taking care of customers and handling the situation and making it right Was part of customer service. Your sweet waitress did just that! But you just couldn't resist the idea of attempting to insult your customers. There are far too many other businesses to support during these trying times for me to ever care to return to an establishment that treats its customers in this way. One of these is a roach and one is a June bug. One was served in a glass of wine and then flicked out of the glass. Either way, when the customer is unable to determine which one was in the glass, it would be nice for the management to replace the drink and apologize rather then accuse the customer of lying. At any rate, no one even bothered to sweep or otherwise pick up the roach or bug as they sat there as long as we did. I don't care what your health score was almost a year ago. I know bugs happen. What I care about is how you treat me as a customer and a fellow human. You failed in every way. It's sad that you can't own up. read more

She couldve apologized even once instead she waa rude and irritated when we tried to get her attention and to be fair I still tipped her 20%. But still Wow. I try really hard not to leave bad reviews but tonight was awful. Not only was the service slow BUT the server had an attitude when we asked where our drinks where after she got off her phone. Looked at the menu on line. Was super excited about several wines and everything on the menu. Showed up. My fiancée asked if we were at a strip club. Super dark. No one at the bar. Went to the patio. Waiter came out and introduced himself. We asked for one of the wines on the menu. He went inside, came back and said they were out. Handed us a menu completely different from the menu online. Chose another wine only for him to come back and say they were out of that one. Asked for a food menu. He said they didn't have a menu but they had sliders, wings and a flatbread pizza, anything else we wanted we had to get from fralos. Super disappointed in an evening I was so excited about. Dropped in here last Saturday night with some friends. They live close by to this location and have been here several times. They recommend it. They did say you either get overcharged (wrongly charged) or the drinks are very strong. This night we didn't experience either wrong charging and the drinks were just fine. We sat outside under their heaters and the patio was very nice. I'm sure we will return when it's a bit warmer. Our waitress was nice and attentive although she did give me the wrong change. She was short by about .75. It was kind of odd - almost like not many people pay with cash. This kind of irritates me. I figure if a waiter or waitress short changes me and it's not too much they can count that as part of their tip. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to see her again to let her know - and she probably never figured it out. She probably thought I just didn't tip well, and she can't learn from that. I have called 14 times, spoken to multiple people including managers, and have still yet to be reimbursed or called back for their double charge.
