Back in January, I had purchased a perfume for my wife there for $44. I was at Target the next day and saw the EXACT same perfume for $18. I bought it, and went to return the previous purchase which was still unopened. They were not able to refund me, but gave me in-store credit for $44. Shame, but I'll take it.
Fast-forward to today. I needed to use the certificate before it expired, so I did some research online of comparable prices of colognes I was looking for and then went to the store. I ended up buying a cologne I had not done any initial research for online, for $58, of which the clerk at Fragrance Hut told me was on sale right now. I figured, not bad to pay $14 on top of the GC I already had to spend, so I was pretty happy leaving.
I was busy with errands, so when I got back home, I checked the price online of comparable sites, AS WELL AS Fragrance Hut's online store, to find that the cologne retails for $26, with the same oil/alcohol percentages, and everything. WITH free shipping from most of the sites. When I called up the Hut to ask for the discrepancy, I was told that that website only sells their products that are broken or pre-used often times, and the ones that are good, are a lower oil concentrate and will only last up to 2 hours of scent. Either their website is full of beans, or this guy was blowing more smoke up my ass than a chimney sweep.
Going to be difficult to want to return it to get another in-store credit I can forget about down the road, so I'll suffer my loss this time, and post a Yelp review, hoping to take out their credibility more than having Jerry Sandusky walk into the store and fondle some of the boys' cologne bottles. That will be my last time going there. Go at your own risk, but you're better off buying online any day. read more
