In the past, the dermatologists I've seen seemed pretty slice happy and cut a bunch of things right away. I was a little put back by paying a consult fee that doesn't apply to the treatment, but got over it. On that consult, she seemed great and I felt aligned with the plan. All I had was a few red spider veins around my nose and cheeks from some prior sculptra injections and two raised skin tags to be lasered. On the day of the procedure, 1st appt 8am on Monday am, it seemed like she forgot the entire plan, went way too aggressive with the laser on areas we did not discuss and completely missed the two bumps I needed so badly to be removed. On my follow up she apologized and re-lasered what I asked for, but upon closer look, seemed to miss one of the two bumps yep again, lasering below one of the bumps. I am now left 2 months later with an area on my cheek that still hasn't healed that I still have to wear concealer over. I don't know if it will ever go away, but I will never be doing this again, nor going to Jordan for any laser work in the future. She is fine at managing my prescriptions but I feel her laser care needs some more education to be safely using on patients. Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion and concerns.

Several family members have skin cancer on both sides of our family. The appointment was made. We parked, and found the office. After checking in,we had a seat. We didn't have to wait long. We were taken back to the exam room. We were told to change into a hospital gow, leaving only our underwear on. It was all very respectful. We decided to have the exam together. After over 15 years of marriage, nothing is a secret. It's up to you. The nurse practioner came in. She asked a few questions, and proceeded with the exam. She used a special instrument to exam our skin, from head(scalp,), down to toes. The front mid torso area was covered and left alone. The exam was simple. Easy peasy. Thankfully nothing was found. We discussed sun screens for the body, as well as for the face, how often to apply, etc. Before I knew it,the exam was over, nothing to worry about. It was recommended that we return in 1-2 years. They have great doctors. The office is clean and relaxing. It's not too bad to get to, but expect to walk after parking your car. There are tons of medical offices, etc, on the Anschutz Medical Center campus. I highly recommend this office, as well as a skin cancer screening, if you can do it. I didn't because I would be late for work and unlike staff at Advanced Dermatology try to be at work on time. I really wanted my skin to look good for a wedding but have no choice now but to pile makeup on my face.

I'm sure they have…read moreother strengths but based on my experience as well my daughter's experience in the last few months, they have missed or mis-diagnosed skin cancer and/or pre-skin cancer on 2 out of 2 people for 2 out of 2 visits. That's flat out scary. We both went for 2nd opinions and both of those appointments revealed the fact that spots Cara Mia missed or mis-diagnosed were cancer or pre-cancer as well as some spots Cara Mia wanted to biopsy, were nothing to worry about, for both of us. And on top of that, within minutes of the start of the exam, the Cara Mia started freezing off 7 spots that who knows if they were pre-cancer or not. It felt like there was a lot of up-selling happening but I can't be positive, just my hunch. But most importantly to miss skin cancer is just dangerous on their part.
