a box of assorted donuts

Love this donut shop! This is always a must-stop when visiting the beach. My favorite is OC Sand but this time we tried French Toast and it was delicious - almost like OC Sand, but with a more cinnamony, mapley flavor. Special shout out to the PB Cup and Banana Nut donuts as well. 10/10!

This is hands down the greatest donut shop around. Pros: Fractured Prune's hot, gooey donuts made to order just can't be beat! There is a menu full of unique combinations if you can't decide. (A few suggestions would be the OC Sand, French Toast, Blueberry Hill, and Carnival!) They offer by the donut, half a dozen, and a dozen. Good luck leaving without a whole box! I have friends from all over the East coast who insist on coming to Fractured Prune every summer. Best donut they've ever had. Cons: 1 dozen donuts = $15 The hours can change without notice and the lines can be long in the summer. Worth it? Yes.

Breakfast at the beach can get boring! How many bagels and pastries can you eat? So, we decided to change it up and have some donuts. My first attempt to get Fractured Prune donuts bombed because they close at 12:00 noon. I was prepared the next time arriving promptly at 10:00 am. The service was very good. I appreciated the patience of the young lady at the counter. I was taking orders on my cell phone and she was so nice about it. She explained that they don't have a vanilla glaze, it is a honey glaze. That changed my original order. So, I had to call home. I am spoiled rotten by our local donut shop. Quack, quack, if you know which one I am referring too. So, I had high expectations. These donuts were good and they had a ton of different glazes and toppings: Oreos, sprinkles, nuts, bacon, chocolate chips and marshmallows. There were a variety of glazes: honey, strawberry, blueberry, caramel, cherry, key lime, and lemon. The donuts were cool when they applied the glazes and toppings, so they didn't really stick as well. The donuts were good, but the cake was just "good! ". When you are paying $15.00 for a dozen donuts, I am looking for spectacular, or at least great! Would I return to Fractured Prune? Yes, I would, but now I have a more realistic expectations. Make sure and bring cash.

Fractured Prune is a must for me at the beach. I tried some new flavors this time and was not disappointed. The woman who took my order was really sweet and helpful. Super cheery for 8 A.M.!

Donuts!

We come here every time we visit Bethany and are never ever disappointed!!! The ONLY reason I docked a star is because they're cash only and I reeeealllly wish they'd consider (especially during the pandemic) to start accepting cards or some sort of electronic payment. But always absolutely delicious!!!! Our family favorites are mint pattie, carnival and orange cream!

There are some things you should know about Fractured Prune before you go: 1) Cash only 2) Only open on weekends during Fall and Winter 3) Donuts are made to order 4) To-go only, no seating 5) Cake donuts only In spite of its name that tries a little too hard to be quirky, Fractured Prune does make some pretty good donuts. While I personally prefer yeast donuts over cake donuts, I can say that Fractured Prune makes some of the best cake donuts I've ever had, probably because they were made just minutes before I ate them. It's pretty cool to see the automated machine extrude, fry, flip and remove the donuts from the oil and on to a cooling conveyor belt. After that, the donuts are topped according to whatever you ordered. I tried two donuts that ended up with a very similar flavor profile, the French Toast Donut and the OC Sand Donut. Both were very warm, with a crispy exterior and a moist interior. My only complaint would just be that the very middle of the donut was a little gooey and underdone--maybe just 30 seconds longer in the fryer would do the trick, or maybe you should wait a few minutes before digging in so that the residual heat can finish the inside. The French Toast donut had maple syrup and cinnamon toppings, while the OC Sand was topped with cinnamon and glaze. While it may be only a matter of time before a Dunkin Donuts finds its way around this area, I'm not convinced that it would threaten the business of Fractured Prune since, to me, they deal in entirely different products. While Dunkin has a big selection and many different offerings, I find their donuts to always taste a day old. This is the complete opposite of Fractured Prune, which hands you donuts made minutes before. What's more, Fractured Prune specializes only in cake donuts, while DD serves those and yeast donuts, and more.

Order at the counter. Cash only!

If you really like donuts, the there's no reason you won't like the Fractured Prune. Prices are a little steep at $2 each, but they come out hot, fresh, and loaded with flavor. There are a number of set donuts to help you with your decision making, but you can also go wild and choose your own glaze and topping. I wish that I could enjoy this closer to home, but it seems like most of the locations are near beaches. Keep in mind that this location is CASH ONLY and has no seating!

Great donuts, horribly rude and unprofessional staff. Will go back to other Fractured Prunes but NOT this one.

After walking around Bethany Beach we stopped for what we hoped would be a quick lunch at Shore Break -a snack bar on the boardwalk. A hot dog with sauerkraut ($4) and two fish tacos ($11) seemed like a safe bet. We ordered at a window on one corner of the building, and the young man at the counter opened up a few containers in vain searching for their stash of sauerkraut. Well of course there was none to be found. So we switched our order to a plain old hot dog with nothing on it. After we ordered, we went to a different window at the back wall of the stand and waited for our number to be called, and after a few minutes of people watching on the boardwalk, we heard "Number 26". That confused me because in addition to the fish tacos (more on them later), I was handed two hot dogs with ketchup instead of one hot dog with nothing. The young lady who gave me the wrong order was not very friendly, and to be honest was rather gruff and rude. It took a long time to get the plain hot dog. Now for the fish tacos -they were very disappointing for an $11 order. They were, in plain terms, a single fish stick on a flour tortilla with some lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Add in a bag of chips and a pickle spear, and its hard to justify $11 for that.

Quick Take/ More than just your typical smoothie place, as in bougie ingredients (cocoa nibs,…read morespirilla, charcoal), kids are a little 50/50, but adults really enjoy it. _______________________________ Menu: Typical smoothie place menu with a plethora of coffee, smoothie, pasties, etc. As I mentioned, when we have the kids with us, some of them don't want anything to do with the fancy ingredients. The most basic is a strawberry/banana deal. We haven't dabbled in much of the food, although we've had a few of the bowls and love them. Service: A quick ordering process. It's not a big interior, but they have a speaker system that you can hear outside. Other: It can be a bit of a wait (not because service, but volume), so I highly recommend an app order on your way and picking up when you get there.

I picked up pistachio walnut I for my fiancés grandmom, I got heath bar, chocolate and vanilla swirl, salted caramel, cookies and creme and it was either plain chocolate chip or chocolate chip cheesecake I'm not sure but it was the very best flavor of all of them! They had so many good ones and I tend to like more vanilla flavors so most of these were a combo of both. Everything was so fresh- I still had a few tiny pieces a week later stashed in the fridge and it's still so good! Definitely one of the better fudge places I've been to and way better than Jersey or the Carolinas. Definitely worth a stop!

What a shame, considering it is very convenient to my home in Bayside - but I will simply drive the extra 2 min down the road to the next grocery store where the customer service is always top notch. I approached the sub counter and waited to be acknowledged by one of the employees behind the counter. Neither bothered to greet me. Or to tell me that the line, apparently, usually snakes to the right. Despite my standing and waiting patiently, Deja took the order of a woman who arrived at the counter after me. Still not a word of acknowledgment from anyone behind the counter. Eventually, the gentleman begin the counter asked me if I was picking up an order. I responded that I was not picking up; rather, I had been standing at the counter to place an order. That's when Deja said "the line usually forms that way". What Deja should have said was, "my apologies - I didn't see you, please let Me take your order now". This displayed a lack of customer service skills, which can be corrected through intensive training. However, most disturbingly, Deja also exposed herself to be unprofessional, immature and rude by responding to me by screwing up her face, making faces, rolling her eyes, smirking and giggling. Deja is beyond correction. What she needs is to seek a job in another field as she is clearly incapable of any job on the service industry.
