Kaan's bakery was our choice for a sweet treat one Monday afternoon. Fortunately, we made it in just before close and even more fortunately they still had some baked goods left for sale! The woman working behind the counter was very friendly and patient with us as we made our selections. I chose the cinnamon twist. It looked fresh, covered in a glaze, and swirled with lots of cinnamon sugar. The employee threw in an extra cinnamon twist for free and that's when I for sure knew I liked her and the bakery. The inside is on the smaller side, but still cute. The cases are typically very full in the mornings and I can't wait to stop back for a larger selection next time. The food is awesome! We've now been to Kaan's several times. The daily deal for two slices of pizza and a soda for $7.50 means tou get two huge slices of terrific pizza. I'd been wanting to come here for a long time. I was very curious to try the breakfast buffet. I wish I had gotten up earlier. Unfortunately, I was so sick with some kind of a flu, so I'm not sure what it really tasted like. But, I tried to be as chipper as possible. The coffee, and food options, and presentation reminded me of things in the 1980s-1990s, so if you are into that, you would like this. I wish they had better options for cream and half & half. I like more dairy in coffee. It's NOT like Panera or Au Bon Pain. But, that's OK. I liked the bread & toast tho, which was pretty satisfying. I think the lady felt bad for me, and she asked me if I wanted some fresh bacon, so she went and made me a whole plate of it. I appreciated that very much. It was really cute on the inside. The pastry, cake, baklava, donuts, apple fritter were old, very old. The cake was decorated in a very amateurish style. The frosting was tasty, but the cake was so dry it literally crumbled under the frosting. I tossed it after one bite. The donuts and apple fritters were tough and chewy. The baklava had the best pistachios ever, but again just old. Nothing was dated either. The pizza displayed looked plastic. There was no fresh pita as advertised, apparently they no longer offer it. It did not smell like a bakery, which was odd. This was a huge disappointment. We will be sticking to the grocery store bakeries from now on. After reading more reviews, it seems they need an actual baker for their cakes and a cake decorator which is a completely different than a pizza baker or someone who can make baklava. read more

I placed an order for a birthday cake for my boyfriend and I's birthday and this was the absolute worst cake I have ever had in my entire life. The cake was so dry you couldn't even swallow it without taking a drink. The cake was very poorly made as the wrap placed around the cake was all wrinkled up and rough looking. I asked for an "Old school Camo" design on the cake and even provided a picture of around what I was looking for. I received something totally different. I received a cake that was camo but had the silhouettes of naked women in heels. As this was a family party, I was devastated. Ended up contacting the store afterwards and was offered to come back to fix the cake but as my party started in an hour had no time to do so. Walnut pastry Apple turnover Cheese strudels Scones Rice pudding The pastries were light and puffy and the only disappointment was there weren't too many options available when I visited. They told me they opened up 6 weeks ago so maybe they are going through their growing pain? They also didn't have any gluten free items and told me you need to order them in advance to get them. This is just what Millsboro or the Doctor ordered a new bakery ! Located behind the post office , by the railroad tracks, near to town hall. My friend got me the most incredible , mouthwatering, rich cupcake! The pastry chef made the cupcake look so extremely alluring that I couldn't wait to bite into it. I can't wait to try the tiramisu cake. I called to inquire about the tiramisu and the pastry chef said this is his favorite cake, and has been making tiramisu for 10 years! I was told I had to try this place, kinda disappointed. The baked goods looked old and dry. We ordered a pizza, which wasn't that bad at all. Very cheesy. VERY hot, there wasn't much to display. I was told I had to try the breakfast buffet; we shall see. As for quality of service, the lady that served us was very nice, but could barely understand her. When we got the bill, it was incorrect. They charged us much more than what we got. Brought this to their attention and they fixed it. Very dated inside. Poor paint job on walls and decor is to be questioned. Wow! Stopped by here on our way back from Bethany Beach. Owner was super friendly and my husband said it was the best sticky bun he's ever had. The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was delicious too!! Ordered my second "celebration" cake from Kaans this weekend. While I do agree with a previous poster about the cake lettering, both I've ordered were delicious. First was a gluten free chocolate, about a year ago. I like the online ordering option, but not sure the intention for preferred decoration is besr conveyed this way. When I picked up the chocolate it had only the lettering, no additional, decoration. At my request, they did add some florets etc and it did look quite nice (aside from the lettering). This weekend I ordered the Italian cream cake. Absolutely delicious (and bought a cake topper in lieu of having them add the message ). Moist, flavorful, not overly sweet, creamy frosting. read more

Kaan's Bakery is the best thing to happen to Millsboro since chickens! Located conveniently on Wilson, near post office and town hall, the converted house has an awesome outdoor deck and plenty of indoor seating to eat the wonders that comes out of this bakery -- flour cookies, danishes, bagels, cupcakes, donuts -- and drink great coffee. There's even ice cream to scream over. The owner is awesome and even behind the necessary mask service is always with a smile. Highly highly recommended. read more

I preordered an 8 inch chocolate cake for my girlfriend's birthday and it truly looks like a 5 year old made it. The handwriting is so bad and cake was beyond dry. Honestly hard to eat. It's so disappointing because I can't return a cake or run to get her a new one while we are celebrating. The ganache on top was the only redeeming part.
