Update after the company's response:…read more For transparency, I am adding screenshots from the signed contract and project email correspondence. The contract (Quote #3975 - $150,000) clearly includes upgrading the main residential electrical service to 200 AMP and installing the awning above the ADU access door as part of the project scope. These items were presented in the company's response as if they were additional work, but they appear explicitly in the signed contract. I have also included an email dated Aug 20 from the project manager confirming the project was "on track for completion in 3-4 months." The project ultimately took around 6 months to complete. Additionally, the electrical work referenced in their response included an EV circuit, which is typically required for new construction and ADU projects under the 2022 California Electrical Code. This is a standard code requirement rather than a discretionary upgrade. These screenshots provide context for my experience during the project. Throughout the build I frequently had to verify measurements, coordinate ordering timelines, and raise planning questions that would normally fall under project management. The on-site crew worked hard and treated the property respectfully, and I appreciate their effort. My review reflects the overall experience managing this project as a homeowner and is shared to provide transparency for others considering a similar project.

Admir gave an estimate and sent workers to start the following day. Major shout out to Amir who put the kitchen cabinets together and did finished carpentry on the new door trim and put in the floors. Exceptionally detail oriented. The electrician was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out new heaters as an add on - after he fully moved and brought breaker box up to code. Project finished about two weeks behind schedule, but stayed within budget. 11/10 I would recommend Admir and his whole team - but would advise *not* working from home while the crew is working as meetings are nearly impossible to attend to when there's so much excitement around.

What really stood out to me was how the team respected our home...they kept it clean, fulled cleaned at the end of each work day...prepped each day just perfectly, went over every detail with us and focused on our job instead of leaving half the day to work on another project. The job was done on time and the price was fair. The whole team was punctual and always let us know when they would get there in the morning. And they were very patient with my barking dog. I would absolutely recommend Premier Construction for any remodel / construction job you have in your home.

I've kind of been procrastinating on this review simply because it won't be short! Ha! Initially…read moremy husband had one of those 'Honey Do' lists that included remodeling our front bathroom. C'mon, how difficult can it be? So we do the demo and find old damage to the framing of the shower and dry rot. Okay I agree we need to call in the professionals. We found Premier through the Diamond Certified booklet and gave Richard a call. When I explained what we wanted Richard said could take on the job immediately and he would provide an estimate. I thought the estimate he came back with was high since we had already done all of the demo. Including getting the beast of a tub out. All I wanted was a frame-less shower, tiled walls, floor, and paint. How can that cost so much? But we needed the bathroom done and they could begin immediately. More about that later. Richard promised the job would be done in two weeks which made us happy since we only had one to use and even with only two people it is tough. Richard came by every morning during the project to check on the progress. Federico and Angel were friendly and arrived early each morning and worked late into the day. They were even 'cheerful' while they worked laughing and chatting with each other. No grumpiness here. At the end of each day I took pics and was very impressed with the progress and how it was all coming together just like I imagined. About the finished bathroom. We really could not be happier. The tile work in the shower is impeccable. They tested the water tightness overnight before beginning to even lay down the shower floor. The floor is sloped so the water will drain properly and not puddle. They added a light/fan combination that wasn't there before and moved electrical outlets to accommodate fixtures. I felt really bad for Federico because he had to go into our attic on a very hot day to hook up the exhaust fan which we did not have before. They even had to shave off the bottom of the original door since the tile floor was higher than the old vinyl floor. My only caution to anyone who uses Premier is to get the shower door factored in early in the project. Like day one. It affects everything including tile and paint. Premier does not do the shower doors which requires getting a bid and conversation from a different contractor. We would have definitely made a few different decisions if we'd talked to the glass guy upfront. Getting back to the cost. We did have to pay for the tile and other materials. I will say that based on the level of effort, the quality of the work, and the finished product, that both my husband and I felt like Richard had underbid this project and we ended up with a product that could/should have cost quite a bit more. Am I complaining? No, we just felt like we were committing a crime. We now have a 'showroom' quality bathroom for the cost of a standard bathroom that will last for the life of the home. All on time and on budget! Thank you Federico, Angel, and Richard! I'll be calling for the other bathroom but please underbid that too! =0)

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other homeowners…read morecan make an informed decision. We engaged Kari/Lamorinda Construction while exploring a backyard renovation project. Very early in the process, we were directed toward a long list of surveys, consultants, engineering analyses, and vendor engagements that ultimately proved unnecessary for the scope of work we actually wanted to pursue. By the time we stepped back from the project, we had already spent a substantial amount of money with both her company directly and vendors she directed us to with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. Throughout the process, communication felt condescending and dismissive. Rather than helping us thoughtfully evaluate practical options within our goals, we increasingly felt pressured toward a far more extensive and expensive scope of work -- including a complete pool demolition/rebuild that we ultimately did not want to undertake. We were explicitly told that without moving forward with that major project, she would not undertake any other work on our lot. In the end, the experience felt far more focused on escalating project scope and costs than on collaborative problem-solving or customer partnership. I could not recommend this company less. My advice to anyone considering working with them is to proceed very cautiously, get multiple outside opinions, and insist on extremely clear written justification for every recommended survey, consultant, and scope expansion before spending significant money.

They met the timeline they originally estimated, which I know is not always easy with projects of this size. The quality of the construction was excellent, and it's clear they take a lot of pride in their work. Their crew and subcontractors were always professional, friendly, and respectful, and the craftsmanship throughout the project was superb. One thing I especially appreciate is the support they provide even after the project is completed. In the two years since construction finished, I've reached out a few times with minor questions or issues, and they've always responded quickly and been happy to help--even when it wasn't clear whether the issue was related to the original construction. Overall, I highly recommend Lamorinda Construction. They deliver high-quality work, stand behind what they build, and are a pleasure to work with.

Typically, once you say that, companies either push you out or don't take the time to acknowledge a potential future project...but that couldn't have been further from our experience with them. They were incredibly kind, accommodating, and happy to schedule an appointment right away, even after we explained our timeline. They encouraged us to come in, get a vision, and understand rough costs, while also being transparent that pricing can shift over time of course. The entire appointment felt comfortable and pressure-free. They were thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. We never once felt rushed or sold to. That alone set them apart from every other construction company we've met with. We left feeling confident and excited, and we absolutely plan to move forward with Jeff and Chris when we're ready to remodel our kitchen. The subs Jeff used were exemplary. They have a high level of respect for Jeff and it is evident in their quality of work and attention to detail. I would have never thought that a home remodel project could be enjoyable, but this was! Odyssey Builders employs workers who are not only skilled, but personable, understanding, friendly, and considerate of you and your space within the home as they are working. Our projects were completed on time or ahead of schedule. No complaints. Choosing to work with Brannan and his company was a no brainer. We appreciated his laidback attitude while also being upfront with his projected costs and schedule. Having numerous projects that needed redoing at the same time, we found his insight into ways to effectively cut costs while still maintaining the function and the aesthetic of our small bathroom invaluable. We met with multiple contractors before deciding who to work with on both of our bathrooms. Brannan and Oddyssey Builders were not only the most cost effective but far and away the most trustworthy people we met with during the quoting process. They didn't try to upsell us anything or talk about large overhead design features we didn't need. Brannan took time to have lengthy discussions with us up front about different options we had to lower costs to make our remodels what we wanted within our budget. It was an incredibly personable experience compared to simple impersonal sales pitches w/out in-depth discussions we had with other contractors. We trusted Brannan to carry out our vision of the projects within our budget and he delivered 100%. The results are beautiful. Two different bathrooms, each dramatically improved from what was there before while displaying our personal taste and adding some character to our home. We really love how much we were able to drive the design of the bathrooms with Brannan's guidance on the different tradeoffs of options for each decision. The final bathroom products are beautiful, polished and satisfy all of our needs and desires. We love them and feel like we couldn't have ended up with anything better if we did anything differently. 10 out of 10!
