I heard their cold brew was phenomenal so I had to try it. You can buy it by the 6 pack at the distributor or single at the local coffee shops that serve their coffee such as Chair Lift in Richmond. Their cold brew was mild and delicious and doesn't leave you wired like other places! Just very good flavor. Every Friday at 10:30am they do public cupping sessions, which I recommend! If you are looking for the best locally roasted coffee with the roast date on the bag [not the best used by date, this is important!], look no further. You can ask them to bag for you something they've roasted recently and just like that, freshly roasted full beans. I have bought dozens of bags of roasted beans from Ricks - there is nothing better than these beans in the grinder first thing in the morning/afternoon/evening/night.

To paraphrase the Beatles, there's nothing I can say that can't be said, but man do I love, love, love this place. Excellent whole bean offerings, roasted to perfection by expert roasters. Delicious hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks that simply can't be replicated anywhere nearby--including, sadly, in my home town of Staunton (hey, Trager Brothers! There's a huge opportunity for expansion in the Queen City!). And top all that off with sublime, informed, and incredibly friendly front of house staff. Yeah, it's a little hard to find, but anything worth having is worth looking for. And in this age of googling and Apple mapping and whatnot, there's no excuse for not availing yourself to the BEST coffee in central Virginia. Y'all who might have read some of my other reviews will know: I usually have a minor nit to pick with even my five stars. Not so with the Brothers Trager, fam. In addition to the smoked trout spread, they offer bagels with different cream cheese spreads, a kale Caesar, and their popular tiramisu dessert. The staff are always friendly and will bring your drink to you if you decide to sit down. I also like that they stopped offering free Wi-Fi on the weekends. It promotes a space that helps people be more present, and I love that.
