Definitely a spot where you could linger for a while. Food-wise, we ordered the fried rice with crispy chicken (breaded in crushed Cheerios--yes, Cheerios, and yes, surprisingly delicious!), the bánh mì, and the crispy chicken sandwich, which ended up being the star of the show. Every bite of that sandwich was perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and satisfying. We upgraded our side to the greens, which came topped with some mysterious orange ingredient--maybe a grated carrot dressing? Whatever it was, it was scrumptious. We also ordered a side of pickles, which were surprisingly affordable and so flavorful that they disappeared fast. We didn't try any drinks, but the menu had plenty of interesting options to choose from. One of my favorite parts of the experience was how family-friendly the place felt: while we waited, the kids grabbed a new-to-us game (The Enchanted Forest) from the board game shelves, which made the time fly by. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering, and overall we had a fantastic experience. If we lived closer, this would be a regular lunch spot for sure!

The ambiance is dim and quiet, but they were happy to have us. My 4 year old used colored pencils on coloring sheets we brought with us. For babies and small kids, they have ingelisa chairs that clip on the high tables and I was concerned about the high chairs for our 4 year old but it was fine. She devoured her entire meal(chicken tenders) and a half of our 1 year olds' (they have a kids menu with chicken tenders, grilled peanut butter and fluff, noodles with butter, hot dog..). The service was fast and great. While I am vegetarian and my spouse is gluten free, we are always pleasantly surprised when we both find delicious food. I loved the general tso's poboy with cauliflower and tofu. I wish there was more cauliflower since my 1 year old took many of those pieces. My spouse got something with "pulled pork and quinoa" and he said it was very good too.

It was kind of like eating your wedding cake for your anniversary. I picked here because it was pretty close to the museum and had such great reviews. It I located right on the main street of their village and it can make you feel like you walked into the life of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. The shop it self is super cute and decorated perfectly. The store front changes often to reflect the season and holiday's. They have a pretty sizable menu for such a cute little place. They other some simple lunch choices like sandwiches but their main thing is dessert- and boy do they know how to do dessert. Adam and I had such a hard time picking our something so we wound up each getting a cupcake and drink to consume there and some goodies to take home. Their cupcakes were perfect. They were light, fluffy, and moist. Their frosting was also fabulous. Frosting can go wrong very quickly. A lot of companies use far too much sugar and the frosting becomes very heavy. This frosting was on point of just the perfect amount of sugar so it was easy to lick it all right off the cupcake. Pretty much the only downfall I can think of it parking. It is street parking and it can be hard to find a spot. Also, the ability to parallel park is a plus. Overall, I would highly suggest it here and I ready have to a couple of family members who came for the museum. The variety is amazing and the flavor a are ever better!

I'd seen the positive Yelp reviews and received it as a suggestion from the young lady at the Rockwell visitor desk. This is a counter service bakery & cafe. There was a line when I got here. It was a bit slow with one person taking orders. There's a handful of tables and short counter seating looking out the front window. I noticed the sweet smell of baked goods when I walked in. I ordered the recommended BLT Turkey & Cheese crepe with the warm cheesy casserole side. The crepe is large, larger than a sandwich. There is a lot of dill sauce on top but it isn't overwhelming. The crepe has good flavor and it is filled well. The thinly sliced lettuce and diced tomato help lighten each bite. The casserole is on the smaller size which perfectly suits the size of the crepe. It's very cheesy with the potatoes adding more of a texture than a flavor. I would recommend this spot for a filling lunch while exploring Corning.

Fourth of July 2025 weekend, I finally had a chance to grab a burger with them and holy moly, they were so right - This might be the best burger I've ever eaten! We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to grab a parking spot on the street, practically right in front of the entrance to Butcher's Son! They're located at one end of Market St. in Corning, now I don't frequent Corning often so I don't know if there's a big parking lot or more side streets to park along, but I could definitely foresee this street being packed with people and cars during the week. I think the time we arrived was a big part as to why we had no trouble getting a parking spot as well as being able to easily find a table after placing our order. The three of us walked in and it really is a butcher shop that has a small menu of burgers, fries, and specialty sandwiches (I saw a steak sandwich on their menu). There was a large, bar-style table with stools to sit along in the front with a station full of cutlery, napkins, packaged ketchup, stuff like that, nothing too fancy but clean and orderly. A courteous, friendly gentleman took our food order and told us to grab a seat anywhere we like and they'd get our food to us. We ended up taking over one of the tables, with an umbrella, outside and we were the only ones out there! It was nice to sit, talk, hang out for a bit, the relaxed, quiet atmosphere was nice. About 10-15 minutes later, all of orders were boxed up and brought out to us. For my late lunch/early dinner meal, I ordered the Fun Guy Burger, which is two smashed beef patties topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, bacon jam, and Swiss cheese, along with a side of their hand-cut shoestring fries. Oh. My. Goodness! Wow, was this burger out of this world good. That had to be the freshest, juiciest, perfectly-cooked burger patties I have ever eaten. There were tons of sautéed mushrooms and onions on top and they were incredibly generous with the bacon jam. The Swiss cheese was melted just right and paired so well with the other toppings. The bun was toasted and held everything together very well. The burger itself is big and is honestly the perfect portion as you'll certainly be full without feeling any sort of "meat sweats"! haha They were very generous with the portion of fries as well. Personally, I liked the way these fries were cooked where they weren't crispy/crunchy but they weren't limp at all. Whatever they were fried in gave these fries an awesome flavor without having a ton of salt and pepper thrown on them. I really liked their fries; I'm not a huge fry-person but these would probably be at the top of my list. Another thing that I have to call out was how reasonable their prices were. Coming from Buffalo, burger prices are really expensive for what you get but Butcher's Son, my meal - burgers, fries, water, probably came near $20, maybe a few cents over that, which in 2025, is phenomenal value! My family told me that Butcher's Son came in first place in the New York Beef Council's "Best NY Burger" competition for 2025. My family and the competition judges are spot on and Butcher's Son totally deserves, and earned, the accolades and awards. Everything from the staff, the focused menu, the quality food, the portions, are great! Next time I'm in Corning, I can't wait to come back here and grab another burger and fries!

There are two counters: you can order ice cream from the first counter near the main entrance, and sandwiches and salads and baked goods from the cafe counter in the back. The ice cream is mostly Hershey's but they currently have one housemade gelato and one sorbetto that rotates. The ice cream counter also has novelty candy and ice cream for sale, but if you go in back to the cafe counter, they have higher quality locally produced and imported candies along with other pantry stuff like jam and tea. I've stopped here a few times. The sandwiches have been fantastic (globe sandwich and Moroccan wrap). The carrot cake was just okay, a little dry if I remember correctly, but the coconut custard pie I tried this time was perfect and not too sweet or heavy. They also do a good (and pretty big) malt milkshake. Service is fast enough and generally friendly.

Tossed is located on Market Street which can be busy during lunch & dinner. They offer Vegan and Vegetarian as well. We arrived just after noon so most of the tables were taken. We managed to snag a table though and ordered. My guy had the gluten free cheeseburger bowl which was delicious! Came with a bowl of Romaine, burger, red onion, cheese, and ripe tomatoes and a tangy sauce Looked so good I had to have a bite and it was Great! I had the Trio of Isles which included 2 homemade Spanakopita. I could tell immediately because of the pastry wasn't the usual store bought puff pastry. And, it was so flavorful with garlic, spices and Pine nuts. The hummus was good and the pita points were toasted and warm when served. The falafel was okay and one was filling with homemade Tzatziki sauce. I managed to eat both falafels. I would definitely come again and just get the Spanakopita-it was Amazing. They do a lot of Take Out. Some of their salads were huge (definitely two meals worth - lunch & dinner) and several patrons were taking what they couldn't finish home for dinner.

There is another thing that keeps me coming back. Tossed is clearly family-run, and I know that a father-daughter team seem to be mostly in charge. Once, they got my order wrong, and I waited longer than usual for the correction to appear. Not only did they credit my order but I think the person who made the error was in tears. I just love these people, they are so sweet!
