Ran our first Sprint 5k with Spartan and I gotta say, this was a dusty location but I'm grateful for how close it is to San Diego. Parking was a little confusing since you had to make your own spot as it got super crowded at one point but thankfully it wasn't an issue since we left plenty of time. If you're coming here to run a race or ride bikes, plan for it to be windy and full of dust. I'm glad we had face coverings! My only complaint for Spartan is they didn't have more places for shade because it got pretty toasty at 80 degrees. Otherwise, it was a great location and a great set up for a race! I attended a motocross race here as a spectator, and unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by how poorly the event was managed. The biggest issue was traffic control. We actually left before the race was even over, yet it still took us nearly four hours just to get out of the parking lot. During that entire time, I only saw one person directing traffic. For an event drawing this many people, there clearly needs to be a better plan for parking lot management and exit flow. The parking lot itself became a chaotic, jam-packed standstill. What was even more concerning was the number of kids and young people I witnessed openly snorting what appeared to be cocaine while everyone was stuck waiting to leave. Seeing that kind of behavior taking place so openly was shocking and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for families and other spectators. The racing may have been good, but the lack of traffic management and the concerning behavior I observed in the parking areas made this a disappointing experience overall. Significant improvements are needed before I would consider attending another event here. read more

DO NOT go here for the Pro Motocross race, it took us 5 hours! to get out of the parking lot this saturday and we left halfway through the last 450 moto at 4:30, we got out at 9:30. This was the worst run venue I have ever been to, they don't care at all about you after they get your money. Come here if you don't mind sitting in your car for 5 hours, otherwise avoid it, you have been warned!!! read more

In March 2022, I came here for a full day's shift volunteering as a builder in preparation for the coming weekend's Spartan race. I didn't do said race, opting instead to use my voucher for the 21k in Big Bear. However, I figured I should experience it myself someday... well that day turned into a two-year time-skip. A dusty landscape with lots of mini spiky plant balls and weather teetering between 90 and 100 deg F, it's not the most scenic of places, but as an obstacle course there's some beauty to its emptiness. The dryness of the surrounding mountains made up the first portion of the race for both the 5k and 10k races (no 21k). Dust kicked up relatively easily from the runners, but overall, the course was clean. The route then weaved through the racetracks, passing pipe tunnels, and into certain rocky areas of a dried-up riverbed before coming back to the racetracks. When I volunteered to do the pre-run on Sunday, I got a good sense of how tranquil riding a motorbike around here might feel during the early mornings or early evenings. During Spartan days, cars drive early morning into Magee Rd instead of the main entrance to funnel between staff, volunteers, and the general crowd. The drive is kinda bumpy, and without signs it was difficult to find your way out. With that said, it was a fun weekend not too far from LA. read more

Vet track rider, the main track is too much for me. Small, fenced kids track in the back. Vet track is well kept and watered. Concession, light maintenance/parts and riding gear available onsite. Flaggers and emergency responders are onsite. Porta potty with wash stations are available. Glad management limited the e-bike access to the tracks......it was crazy a few times with people and teens riding everywhere. read more

Visited the Fox Pro Shop to buy a helmet and ended up buying so much more. They have everything you need for riding dirt bikes, with a nice selection of jerseys, pants, gloves, goggles, boots, and everyday clothes. Jeremiah was super helpful and friendly in helping me find the right gear to get back into riding. They're only open on the weekends, so make sure to check the hours. The overall vibe here with everyone on the track was welcoming and friendly. I'll be going back to purchase more gear soon. read more

Track, great, views, great. Everything with the event is great. But parking and Leaving is a clusterf@$*. Leaving the parking lot after an event...worst.. thing...ever! I have been to a lot of venues that have been rough but this one takes the cake. You are literally stopped for like two hours trying to leave. We have done this for years and it's been horrible every time. Last year we parked elsewhere and rode our e-bikes in. That was the best way to do it! The only reason we didn't do it this year is because we have a baby that's too small to ride in a bike seat. read more

One of the greatest facilities anywhere!!!!! They have a VET, Main, Supey and E-bike track. The dirt on the Main is awesome - deep and soft and makes for killer ruts. The track flows really nicely too. The VET is super fun and is just the right mix of challenging and VET user-friendly. Way to go Brian and the rest of the FOX crew! My family is fairly new to the world of motocross. We've watched on tv for years and we love the sport. When my son asked for a dirt bike I took the opportunity to buy two. We've mostly ridden in open desert areas with little to no structure but we wanted to hit the track as well. Fox Raceway in Pala is awesome! There are multiple tracks for new and experienced riders. My son loved the AM track because he got to experience all that motocross has to offer on a much smaller scale. I rode the AM track a few times before taking on the VET track. I'm not a veteran in this sport by any means but the track is laid out in such a way it builds your confidence. It's just aggressive enough that you're getting a gray ride but just tame enough that you don't feel like it's too big. We rode up the hill and watched a couple guys take on the Supercross track which was great to watch. We did also stop in the Fox store on the way out. Bought a new Fox jersey for $30. We spent 4.5hrs at the track and it was well worth the $60 ($30 each). read more

Generally used as a motocross event location, I attended Pala Raceway as Reebok Spartan Race decided to change their Socal Beast race. From the Temecula location in Lake Elsinore area, to this new location to provide their athletes with a new venue for their summer race. I was experience running at the Temecula location, at I was the Spartan Super & Sprint during the same weekend back in January of last year. And had really enjoyed the location and it's terrain, so I wasn't sure what to expect with it being at the raceway this time. Especially based on the images I'd seen of a dry and dusty looking course, but luckily we got to see plenty of the mountains in the background. Ad Obstacle Course Race athletes started their events on the outskirts of the dirt track and made their way into the mountains, then out onto the track area, only to go back out into the lower hills, and then back. To complete the 14+ mile Spartan Beast on Saturday and the 5+ mile Spartan Sprint Race. Being that it was in mid September, and out in the desert...it was HOT! The Saturday I was it got up in the low 90's, and the following day for the shorter run it was 100! So the heat kicked butt at times, but if the terrain and or the weather wasn't an obstacle it wouldn't be a Spartan Race! OVERALL: I enjoyed the race as I always do, was a little concerned about the weather ahead of time. But I came prepared and was hydrated, and brought plenty of electrolytes, salts, protein nourishment to keep me going. I wouldn't definitely run here again, as I enjoyed the course and love doing Spartan Races all over the place! read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST parking lot attendance at any event, concert, outdoor literally anything. There were plenty of people to take cash for parking but zero communication or assistance to exit... we have been here for over an hour and left in the middle of the race to slightly miss this situation and that is disappointing. Pala Raceway is THE premier motocross facility in San Diego, hands down. Since April of 2009, the Pala MX facility has been open to motocross and ATV riders that are looking for a place to get some quality riding in that's safe and close to home. The facility has 5 tracks set up in it's current configuration that are labeled by different riding levels. The tracks are maintained and prepped every day so there is never issues with unsafe track conditions here. The staff is very helpful to riders on the property as well as on site EMTs in the event that anything serious happens. The tracks are fun and challenging without putting riders in danger. There is a $20 gate fee along with a $20 membership fee on your first visit. Spectators are free, though...so you can bring the whole family. Speaking of families, Pala Raceway is very family friendly, with two kid tracks for the youngsters to practice without fear of the bikes running them over. I am a frequent rider at Pala Raceway, and I'm happy to see it's addition to the SoCal lineup of motocross facilities in the area. Future plans look like that Pala Raceway will add in an asphalt track for street bikes/racing karts in the future, so look for that soon. After a hard, fun day of riding, what better way to wind down than a trip down the road to Pala Casino, chill by the pool and eat tacos...yea...that's the life. OK...well I have to thank Kim for starting a review of the Pala Raceway motorsports facility here on Yelp...even though she has never stepped foot on the property. 5 Star for sure I have been twice in the past month and could not be happier!!! The staff Is amazing the tracks are sick and well taken care of. There is so many options on tracks to ride that they are not over crowded like I thought they would be for a Saturday or Sunday. They also allow side by side Can Am even 4 seater Can Am which was a plus for me as my wife cant ride dirtbike anymore due to her brain surgery. So huge plus was only $40 for the 4 seater Can Am and got to drive on track all day. Cant wait to go back this weekend and have some fun!! This will be third weekend in a row but this time we are camping out over night read more

Pala Raceway has been the host for the last few SoCal Spartan Races and it looks like it will continue to be the destination in 2017 as well. The sucky part is this place is so far inland that it can get super hot for Spartan Races. However, that's part of being a true Spartan warrior anyways so it makes the challenge even more worthwhile. The location is a manageable drive from San Diego/Riverside/LA county so it brings people from all over SoCal during Spartan season. It is home to the Spartan Sprint, Super, and Beast races so people who are looking for the trifecta medal can do it all at this course throughout the year. Because it is normally a motorcycle track, when the Spartan Race is incorporated into this it has a lot of challenging hills that runners will have to maneuver through in addition to all of the obstacle courses. The attributes of this dirt course makes it compatible to the hill slides, barb wire crawl and mud crawl obstacles of the Spartan Race. Pala Casino is only 1 mile away from this place so you can go eat, drink, and gamble as a fun post-race activity. This was a good venue for my first Spartan Race and I will likely do another one here. read more

Came here to watch my husband race in the FMF Cal Classic. Track workers are all friendly and I especially love that there are medical staff and even a life flight helicopter on standby for quick response if there are any injuries on big race days. The track was muddy and rutted today but it stayed in pretty good shape. It's nice to have a local track. read more

Great track, kids love it too. $20 kids/$25 adults (after initial sign up). There are two kids tracks and two adult tracks, plus a super cross track for pros. Staff are friendly, they have a snack shack with cooked food, drinks, etc - ask for the phone number at the gate and order by phone with delivery. One for the first time yesterday to ride on my first truck. I have been riding for years but this is the first time on a race track. They had three different tracks so that way you could go with your comfort level. The price to get in and ride on the track is very reasonable and they do give a military discount. When I started riding again about 2 years ago, I would come to Fox/Pala raceway exclusively. It was great for me because the amatuer track, which wasn't maintained the best, offered just what I needed as a rider who stopped at 22 and picked it back up at 31. Awesome for vintage bikes, slow guys on big bikes and kids wanting to learn basic MX skills. Not to technical, plenty of opportunities to open it up and manageable jumps. I would ride between the amatuer and vet track. The vet track was a great track but its geared towards fast novice and intermediate class riders however, it was rideable for just about anyone at the time. That was last winter. Flash forward to today and there is no more amatuer track and the vet track has seemingly gotten more technical PLUS there is now a mix of very slow and very fast riders on it because the amatuer track is gone. I think this is not only dangerous but, a big screw you to slower riders and there are a lot more slower riders than faster in this sport. Fox Raceway has become a victim of it's own success and forgotten that not everyone aspires to be a pro. Time to find a new place to ride. read more

As I sit hear boiling, and I mean boiling , I will keep it together to write this review so everyone knows what to expect from this joke of a venue. I came with my family to watch a motocross race and initially we had a lovely day. UNTIL...we attempted to leave the venue. We've been sitting in the same spot for 2.5 hours and haven't moved an inch. Not a single parking attendant nor security officer has come out to try and organize the clutter. It's laughable that the city would allow a place like this to exist with this many people expected to come to the venue. We are trapped in the parking lot, car is off at this point. I would highly, highly suggest getting this mess together before having another event here otherwise, there will others like me writing similar reviews until our voice is heard Get it together Pala, your one way in/out is a death trap read more

Recently bought an dual sport bike and wanted to take it to the track... 1st time to a motocross park in California and overall, It was pretty sweet! I went on a Sunday so I figured it would be crowded and to my surprise, I didn't think it was too packed or anything. After looking at the website, I thought the park would have a main office/area, perhaps a lounge area and I was wrong lol It basically large open areas for the track, some bleecher/stands, areas to park your truck, and a small concession area. thats it Entry is like paying a toll, literally, you pull up to a toll booth and fill out the waiver stating if you hurt yourself blah blah blah and you pay - a day fee ($30?), year membership ($45 initially and then $25 every time you come for the next year) or some other type of membership... it was for enthusiasts and regulars They have 5 tracks (2 small bike tracks, a main track, amateur track and the vet track) but I was only able to ride 1 the day I went, the Vet track since they had a race going on that day on the amature track and I wasn't gonna try the main track... Ill def. be going back as they seem to maintain the place well and its probably one of the better if not best motocross parks in So. Cal... read more

I love this track. Its always well groomed and watered, always consistant with jump faces and landings. Nice facility pretty much all you could want in a moto track. The vet track tends to get very packed on the weekends, I mostly ride the big one which is usually pretty empty, even if there is a lot of people on it you don't notice its so long. read more

This track is by far one of the better tracks in SoCal. I have been to many others and this one tops all of them by far!

I have a fast pass so I can ride Pala practically all the time. I generally ride Saturdays. The tracks are fantastic in the mornings but tend to break down rather quickly due to the high volume of riders here and the loose soil. A few truck loads of quality soil could really help out the tracks here and keep people significantly safer. Also the people that ride here keep the atmosphere light and fun, unlike at some other tracks, like Perris, that seem to draw in douchebags who want to stuff children and slower riders in turns and start fights on the track, literally. Pala's tracks are fairly large and they have a track for every skill level. So, I'm only giving Pala four stars because I finally made it out on a weekday after work, which is why I pay the monthly fast pass dues, and this place is horrible. As bad as Lake Elsinore used to be. I don't think the vet track (only one open mind you) has seen a drop of water since close of business Sunday. Sprinkle some sand on a concrete whoop section and you have weeknight Pala. If you only have one track open it shouldn't be too difficult to maintain, especially when thee are hardly any riders. Lesson learned, stick to the weekends and you will not be disappointed. For weeknights, stick to Starwest (Lucas Oil MX) or Perris. read more

Well, I have been to Pala Raceway, in fact I go there about 2 to 3 times every week. Even though it is a 50 minute drive there is NO better place to ride in all of Southern California. They have there different tracks that I can ride, Main (tough-safe-GREAT fun) Vet track (Challenging and fun to work up to race pace) and the Amateur track that is also one of my favorites as it is more sandy and is great for practicing your turns. They have three great kids tracks that my kids never get tired off. Only problem is they never want to leave! This is also my favorite track to hit up just after a rain or even when it is raining. Also, Pala is one of the FEW places anywhere that can open the day after big rains or even stay open with lighter rain. They have a bunch of big dozers and lots of work crew that prep and maintain the tracks every day and on weekends they even re-groom the Vet track just after lunch time to make it like new again. My son and I just started doing the races at Pala. A ton of fun and the special MX race track just built is a BLAST. Best part of their race series is that they break the classes into mornings or afternoon sessions. That way I only have to be at the track for just a half day, I get in a ton of racing laps, and I'm home just after lunch to do other stuff with the family for the rest for the day. All in all - Pala does it right and and they continue to make huge improvements to the place all the time. They are just getting ready to open up a on-site parts and service center. Also, it was just announced that they are going to have the last AMA National race of the year. They must be doing something right to be able to host the biggest event of the year.
