This place is really great. It's a lot of fun. They have the cars that you can rent or you can bring your own. You can practice in the parking lot if you're new with this. Or if you're more advanced, you can have a great time on the track. After a couple practices in the parking lot, you should be ready for the track. It's under the roof so it's a little escape from the blasting sun. Highly recommend Recommended. read more

I had some reservations going here, mainly because I'm a 5th scale gas car basher and not sure how I would enjoy running around a small tight course with a little buggy. But I absolutely love it and now come here on a weekly basis even though I live 30 miles away. It becomes addicting to run a RC car on a track, learning the course and getting better each time. This gives you a chance to learn some car control and jumping in a positive and encouraging environment. Everyone from the owner, employees and people attending are just good people to be around. Though I've only gone on practice days, mostly Monday, you may run into more "serious" people on race days I'm only assuming. You can bring most any car you like, preferably 10th/8th scale buggies and 10th scale short course trucks. You don't need the most expensive race car, people don't look down on what you run and glad to help if you have issues. Its also amazing how quickly the time flies. You think you are here for a couple of hours and realize it's been 5 hours! For $20 entry fee ($15 with an annual membership), you can spend all day here running your RC cars and having fun. There is a nice pro shop that carries almost everything you need, bathrooms, drinks and snacks, all at reasonable prices. Hang out with your buddies or make some new friends. read more

I want to like this place because it seems super awesome. However, I checked their website schedule which stated the driving clinic was every Saturday at 0800. There was nothing indicating differently, and it was still on the schedule. Being that I actually had today off I got up early to give it a shot. I arrived to find myself sitting there alone with nobody else in the lot. At 0800 I checked the door and it was locked and nobody was inside that I could see. It's quite a drive to get here for me and I really wanted to do the beginner class to get at least some idea of what to do. I'll be back, but I really hope subsequent experiences are better. Please, if you're not going to have the driving clinic don't have it on your schedule on the website. Update: I actually went today and was able to drive. There were a ton of people there. It became a cluster at times and they had to do five minute practice rotations. But, holy CRAP! It was so much fun. I'll be back for sure. read more

So much FUN! I brought my 2 boys here after months of nagging. The guys working there were very helpful and friendly. We rented 2 rc cars for $25 each. The cars were great! Super fast. Easy to control. And the boys had such a good time. They had a little spot in the back where they could practice driving the cars before they took them out to the track. An additional battery is $10, so I got one. The boys had a great time we will come here again. They say you can bring any car and race it on the track, and if your car gets hung up just go out to the track and unhang it. spectating is really fun. A bumpy start for our first time so here's my advice. Call before you show up (probably a day or two in advance so you can plan what you want to do). The info on the web page isn't really reflective of what's going on there. I planned to bring my son here for his 12th bday so we could both rent cars and race during practice time. When we arrived we found out they no longer do rentals and you need to bring your own RC car. I had tried calling a number of times the hour before we got there but the phone was busy every time. It could have been an epic bday mom fail but the guys put together a car that was being worked on and let us use that - so thankful! We stood in the middle of the track so when he flipped his car (which was quite a bit in the beginning) we'd flip it back over. It's warm in there but they have fans and cold drinks for purchase. The staff were laid back and the mgr/owner? gave us a bday hookup (probably for the phone and website issues) when we left so we were pleasantly surprised by that. If you're an R/C guy or gal you should check this place out. Indoor venue with "almost" Nascar quality pit areas complete with power outlets and more to work on your buggy etc. I wish they had a place like this in the Seattle area in the 90's...I'd probably be working and living there! read more

I bought a old fashioned rc -- the supreme X tamiya "the hornet" - which is out of date and not really what this hobby store/racetrack deals in....nonetheless....I received exceptional service!!! I am new to this hobby through and through....Not once did I feel inferior or uncomfortable...The service person was brilliant at multi tasking and at going above and beyond on customer service. My rc was a puzzle that the representative was able to solve - The rep listened to my expectations and offered products and SERVICE that saved me hours of frustration. My boyfriend's obsession and hobby is this place! He has told me all about it and how fun and cool it is. I decided to come with him and see what its all about. He was so excited! When I walked in, I didn't expect what I saw! A huge dirt track with little race cars! I have to admit...its so adorable! I know the guys there don't like that term haha! That being said, I LOVE it! All the guys there are incredibly nice and sweet! The owner and people who work there are awesome. They welcomed me graciously. Its so cool to see all the different cars and the guys working on them in the little garage areas. I really love watching them race. It is very exciting! We usually bring food and I watch my boyfriend work on his car. I love that I can support him and watch him race. We will always be back! SDRC is an amazing rc track for electric 1/10 scale vehicles! The course is meticulously groomed and challenging, fun for beginners and pros alike. The rental trucks are well maintained and a great value for worry free racing of all ages! As a novice rc driver, the owner Travis walked me through a rental and then got me set up with a new truck purchase, and helped me find the best battery and charger set up at a great price! To anyone looking to get into the hobby or to just have a fun day racing, I would highly recommend SDRC! You won't find better service or a better track anywhere in SoCal! read more

We've been coming here for a few months now and LOVE it. My son got a an RC car a year or so ago and my only complaint is that we didn't find SDRC sooner. They are very helpful with guidance on repairs, driving, etc. We've paid for a membership and plan on getting back as often as we can. read more

This is my home away from home. Since I first started coming here I have learned so much about rc cars and the staff has always been extremely helpful especially for beginners. I have made some really awesome friends here and I continue to meet new people all the time. Environment is very friendly and best thing is the proshop. With all the places that have closed recently not only does sdrc have an awesome track they also have a great selection of rc parts, kits, tires....whatever you need they have it or can get it pretty fast. Went in to SDRC last Sat to show my 9-year old the cool indoor track & trouble shoot some issues we had with his car @ home. We were not well prepared (w/ dead battery & charger missing power cord). The customer service was great! Eli was super helpful. Juiced up the battery w/ his own high speed charger & was quickly able to trouble shoot the problem us novices had in some settings on our controller. Ran it around the track once, & my son is hooked. We'll be back soon. read more

Where do I start.... Found this place online and it looked like a nice treat for my 11 year old and I'm not going to lie me too. Showed up with 2 broken cars of course. Ran into Adam at the pro shop. Of course he knows his stuff it is a pro shop, but he actually cared that we had a good time. We bought a couple parts and he actually did the complex portions like soldering for us. We ran into several problems and each time he went out of his way to help us. He was great with my son, teaching him rather than telling him. We had a blast. Very family friendly. The track is challenging but at the end we were both giddy kids screaming look what I can do at each other. The place is set up so you get your own workbench with electrical outlets to keep the batteries going. Bring your tools, Chargers and parts and you can make a great day of it. Definitely left a better driver than when I got there. There is no tip jar and we were not charged for the work he did. I tipped him as it was great service. It was definitely appreciated as I don't think it happens enough. Great place going back!!!! read more
