    Yippee!!!

Dave is an amazing tour guide! The trails are amazing with plenty of scenery! Hop, skip and jump from Julian and all major San Diego cities.

This is my third time coming here and I love it. I love the atmosphere, the horses and the people. Dave is really genuine and fun to talk to. Every single time I have came it had made horseback riding so easy. From someone with no experience. Horses are well trained and friendly! Until next time!

We had the best time ever at Warner Valley Stables! My 8yr old has been begging to try horseback ridding and I am SO glad I picked here for her first experience. Dave was great in setting us up with our reservation and George, our guide, made sure to take such good care of my little one. He rode her out and then within time, she was riding on her own. The horses were beautiful and calm animals. Everything was perfect for a first time experience. Thank you Dave and George. Funny how something so fun and easy made my little sarcastic child say "horses are now my absolute favorite animal". Thanks guys!!

    On the trail!

Went out this weekend for a two hour trail ride and it was amazing! Our guide, George I believe, was so knowledgeable about horses and the area. He took us along the Pacific Coast Trail. His co-guides were also amazing. Helpful and engaging. We stopped at a small picnic area about an hour in and had snacks and beverages they provided and headed back. The horses are very well cared for and trained. Will definitely go back!!!

Absolutely the best experience horseback riding ever in all of Southern California. Dave was so gracious to allow my daughter and I the chance to ride outside of normal trail ride hours. I had spent all morning trying to locate a place that would accommodate my daughter and I on our little mommy daughter vacation away from the chaos of the world to enjoy some trail rides with beautiful horses in an amazing environment and Dave came through. I guess during these trying times most people only operate Friday Saturday Sundays but Dave made an exception. Not only did he offer to take us on a ride outside of normal business hours he was gracious, caring and very thoughtful of my daughters novice riding skills. Warner Valley Stables is a beautiful kept little secret just off the beaten path and Dave will give you great directions on how to locate the gate for access. A two hour ride through beautiful landscape out in the quiet with not a sound of news, no gossip, or rhetoric of the every day fast paced rat race. Just what we needed to calm nerves and a lovely reminder that life goes on regardless of what is happening. If you're looking for an experience that makes you forget about Covid, home schooling, and/ or politics, hands down across the board I highly recommend Warner Valley Staples for the best horseback trail rides in Southern California. Thank you Dave, you were phenomenal and we appreciate you so much God bless you and all those beautiful horses that you take care of. We'll see you again real soon!!

I had a wonderful experience riding a horse here. We went on a two hours trail in to the forest. The horses were nice, well kept and lively. It was fun to ride it and look around. I would definitely recommend the ride if you are in the area! There are more attractions on the site - like hot springs, glider airplanes, etc.

Had a blast riding horses. Polite hosts and beautiful location. The horses had personality which was funny to witness them.

I was familiar with the Torrey Pines Gliderport but didn't know that Warner Springs had an area for sailplanes/gliders. A glider is a fixed-wing aircraft that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its lifting surfaces, and whose free flight does not depend on an engine. Normally a sailplane relies on rising air to maintain altitude. So we made a date out of it. We booked our flight at 10AM on Saturday, September 16th. On the drive there, we were a bit apprehensive as the mountains were cloudy and it was somewhat drizzling, but after exiting and we reached Warner Springs it was bright and sunny. As we were parking, we saw a view of several sailplanes/gliders. Walking inside, we were immediately welcomed by one of their staff - Piper. Piper was a big dark brown golden retriever with flashes of golden, SUPER friendly, and immediately went on her tummy for rubs. The interior was decorated with cloths with notations of those completed their first flight of flying. There was an area for kids to play in, some bar stools around, and a seating area right next to the bathroom. They also had a cat strolling around, doing its own thing. The bathroom had a wall of interesting tidbits, so be careful if you go in! You may be in there for a while reading them. We got checked in and the kind lady (possibly Donna?) working the desk let us know that Garret will be with us in a few minutes as he was finishing up another flight. We saw a few people fly their first plane out or were taking lessons. While we were waiting, Piper kept us company with asks for pats. When it was our turn, the lady gave us a camera for Garret/his colleague (whose name I forgot) to hook on to the plane, and we walked on out to go on our 30 minute flight. For our reservation purchase, it is for the ride and also for an SD card for the memory of the flight. If you were flying just on your own, you get the opportunity of flying the sailplane under the supervision of the pilot in the front. Since there was two of us, they had to take the controls out from the back. Our pilot, Garret, helped us get into our seating space, and buckled us in, as well as giving us instructions on where we can get air during the ride. We were a cozy squeeze in the back, while Garret was in the front. His colleague helped to ensure we were towed by a plane ahead. It was an amazing view, and a bit surreal to have flown up. Garret and my husband conversed, and he asked a lot of questions. We had minor turbulence. My husband got to disconnect us from the other plane and we were gliding in the air. I did end up bringing a gift to the ground, as I had just a banana for breakfast - which was probably too acidic for the ride. Garret also checked that I was comfortable before he brought us on a fast loop dive (which I've only seen in movies), it was something else to actually experience it. We had the opportunity of flying with Garret Willat. Garret represented the US Open Class team in 2008 and 2010 and the Club Class team in 2014. And he has won 3 US National Championships. I would recommend that if you're looking to do, and you're not afraid of heights/rides, check out Sky Sailing. And for food, check out Jeremy's on a Hill! They have a reservation system and I would suggest that you get food if you had nothing left in your body if you also bought back a gift. Or just Julian after, super close!

We also found a Great Pyrenees on site that she fell in love with. This dog was such a sweetie! I would love to come back and try some of their other carriage rides.

We did breakfast burritos that were HUGE! Thank goodness I asked them to halve them and individually wrap them. People could barely finish half. But the star of the show was the homemade waffle bar. HOLY COW!! They were made fresh on site and the set up included two massive tubs of whipped butter and fresh whipped cream; they also included fresh berries, maple syrup and powdered sugar. Our guests were so happy and needless to say chose the waffles over the burritos. I wish I took photos of the beautiful table setup. Then a month later we hosted a Christmas in August dinner. I asked Jan to put together a menu for me and she delivered a fabulous menu: fruity nutty salad, creamy Tuscan salmon salmon, herb crusted steak with a red wine Demi-glacé, green beans with cranberries, red onions and almonds, wild rice pilaf (the best) and dessert including sugar cookies decorated for Christmas. As expected the food was FABULOUS! What i didn't expect was the Christmas decor. Jan's staff surprised me and arrived 2 hours. They said it would take a while for set up. I was confused because how long does it take to put up chafing dishes and food. What I didn't realize was they came with TONS of Christmas decor. They turned my room into a Christmas wonderland. Jan and her staff went ABOVE and BEYOND to provide a true Christmas Experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!
