What a fun time!! Coming from someone who rides horses daily, this was a wonderful experience! I took my friends here for a bachelorette weekend ride and it was perfect! One of them had never been on a horse before and Luke was so kind and willing to make her feel the most comfortable when riding! He explained to her how to safely ride and have a comfortable ride, at that. Not only was it fun learning about the Julian mines along the tour, the horses were very happy! I avoid doing these kind of things because typically the horses are ridden so often that they just become robots and you can tell they're unhappy. That was NOT the case with these ones. They get well-rested and have a lovely space in the shade to relax when they're not on trail. Each of our horses were also very well trained and rideable for even the most inexperienced person. All very sweet temperaments and happy to get their apple slices at the end. Overall, the ride was wonderful, our guide was so respectful and informative and we had a wonderful day riding through the countryside of Julian!

I couldn't recommend them more! 10 out of 10, highly recommend! Booking was easy via text, the horses were incredibly well trained & cared for, Luke was very friendly and helpful, and above all else - I absolutely love supporting a local stable that is family owned. My boyfriend and I frequent Julian and it's a pleasure to support Integrity Stables. We will definitely be back soon to see Raven and Torro and take a tour through Sacred Mountain :)

This is seriously some of the most blissful fun I have had in years. Jennifer was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We rode Misty, Angel, and Solé (I think that's how it's spelled). All the horses were gentle and endlessly patient with us (especially considering we both had little horseback riding experience between the two of us). At $90/rider for an hour ride, I am confident that this is some of the best fun you can have in Julian (or in general as far as I am concerned). Beautiful horses, BEAUTIFUL scenery, and all around a wonderful time. Thank you Integrity Stables and Jennifer! We will be back!

I can't say enough good things about Integrity Stables- two years in a row we've booked a family trail ride- 2 adults and 3 kids- both experiences were wonderful! Both Ashley and Luke are amazing trail guides with tons of experience and knowledge. The horses are sweet and well cared for and the ride is very interesting and full of beautiful scenery. I wish our ride was longer!

My husband and I had the BEST time! The trail was AMAZING , the horses were BEAUTIFUL and Luke was great! We can't wait to come back! It added to a perfect day in Julian!

Jennifer was great! Accommodated us for a weekday pony ride for two 5 year old kiddos. The kids loved it, the pony, Misty, was great, and the scenery was so beautiful. Very close to downtown Julian and the rest of the local sights. Thank you so much!

Had a great time today at Integrity Stables ! First time riders and we had a blast. Super friendly and knowledgeable guide. Horses are very sweet and well trained. Our 1 hour trail ride was fun and the scenery beautiful. We will definitely be back again.

Wow, what an amazing experience for my birthday with my girlfriends. Do not hesitate going to Integrity Stables. Top notch from customer service to the beautiful Horses, to the guide who was a real cowboy and very professional, patient, friendly and knowledgeable, and the beauty of the scenery. Doing this again!!!!

First of all, Ashley was the kindest, sweetest, informative and professional guide my family has ever had the pleasure of working with. She gave clear directions and was a joy to have. If you come to Julian, you HAVE TOO do a horse tour with her. Thank you Ashley!

Booked a ride and Luke was my trail guide. I rode Braven on a crisp November morning. The views and ride over gold mountain was just what I needed- Can't wait to go back, stopped at Soups and such on the way back in town and such a great day!

Beautiful views

We had a wonderful experience. We ride horses often & this was definitely one of our favorites. Beautiful scenery. Our guide shared so much information about the area & mines. This stable takes great care of their horses.

I took some time to type this review as I would never want to negatively impact a company but…read morethought I owed it to the community to share our experience. We recently had a very disappointing and concerning experience with this horseback riding company. Unfortunately, the horses provided for our group did not appear to be properly trained or well-managed. Several of the horses were extremely difficult to control, and their behavior raised serious safety concerns from the start. During the ride, two horses became particularly unruly and ended up bucking, throwing two members of our group off onto the ground. This was a frightening and potentially dangerous situation that could have resulted in serious injury. While we understand that working with animals always carries some risk, this level of behavior suggests a lack of adequate training, supervision, or proper matching of horses to riders. After this negative experience the Owner refused to reimburse us. She offered us a credit to come back and take another ride with them. After this experience, the ladies are terrified to get on another horse. I would strongly encourage the company to review their safety protocols, horse training practices, and staff preparedness to ensure a safer experience for future guests. I leave you all with the horses are beautiful and you can tell they are well taken care but you should be a very experienced rider if you book with this company.

An outstanding "under the radar" waterfall hike is right here in Descanso. The Merigan Trail (aka…read morethe Merigan Fire Road) is closer than you think at just five minutes off the 8 freeway. Once at the trailhead, you will start your hike through an open meadow, passing some shady oak groves then finishing with waterfalls crashing on large boulders. I was introduced to this gem when I was at sixth grade camp, at Camp Oliver. I knew the Merigan Trail was great even then, but now I can truly appreciate how this area was left untouched after all these years. If it is your first time here, you will be back. FYI..there was still snow on the ground when we went in early January. There is no official address, but the place is right off Viejas Boulevard at Mitzpah Lane. Since it is part of the Cuyamaca State Park, they have their own signs, dirt parking lot, port-a-potties and the "honor system" check in station. I guess they ask for an 8 dollar fee to park. From the parking lot, walk to the trail head going left that passes right in front of a ranger's cabin. You can't miss the trail, since it is wide enough to drive a truck through. Stay on the trail and you will pass through a meadow, then an oak grove, this will then turn into a few mild inclines on the trail that will eventually lead you to a fork in the trail. At the fork, you will see a sign with the option to go to the "Dead Horse Trail" or stay on the "Merigan Fire Road." I always take the Dead Horse Trail, and go left at the fork in the trail to get to the waterfalls. The hike to the waterfall takes about 30-40 minutes for the average hiker with a few stops to admire the scenery. On a scale of 1-10 for difficulty, I would rate it at a 3. There are some inclines, but nothing too bad. Remember, my entire 6th grade class made the hike. Although I love Mission Trails and Cowles Mountain as much as the next hiker...those spots are flooded with way too many bodies. Just when you think you hear a coyote or deer up ahead, it always ends up being another hiker. Kind of a buzz kill. The Merigan Trail has always been the opposite of that experience for me.

We did this hike based on the review above. There's something about the adventure of trying to…read morefind a waterfall based on one yelp review that sounded fun. It's pretty much just as the above review describes. Drive east on I-8 two exits past the Viejas outlets to Japatul rd and make a left. Make a left at hwy 79 and then an immediate left on Viejas Blvd. Look for Mitzpah rd and park in the dirt lot. Parking is $8. The hike to the waterfall is about 30 minutes. Take the fireroad and make a left at the fork down towards Dead Horse Trail. You will start to hear water. The falls aren't big and majestic, but it's quiet and uncrowded. We had 4 kids with us ranging from age 6 - 9 and they all had a good time.

We reconfirmed our appointment earlier in the day, and I even asked which payment method she preferred, so I truly thought everything was set. However, when I arrived and finally found the front gate I waited and, no one was there. I called Ashley and no answer. I left a voicemail and sent a few texts, but never heard back. I honestly hoped it was just a misunderstanding or that something serious had come up, but after several days, I still received no response at all. I don't typically write reviews, but I took time out of my workday for this lesson only to be completely stood up without explanation. What's worse is that a friend of mine saw Ashley at the IEC in Ramona just days after this happened, so it clearly wasn't an emergency. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend her services. If you value your time and reliability, I'd suggest looking elsewhere

He was so polite, answered all my questions and I could tell the way he was talking about his horses, he REALLY loved his horses, and wasn't doing the tours for profit! We bought out tour tickets directly from his site! I would recommend doing that so it gives HIM/his stable/ HIS horses all the money and Groupon not taking any portion! We did the 10am tour that lasted a little over 2 hours. Upon arriving Dave met us, told us we were just waiting for another couple to come (there was bad traffic) and then we would be on our way. Upon everyone arriving he asked every one how comfortable we were and what our level of riding was. Even though I have rode horses several times growing up, I still considered myself a beginner. He matched us up with our horse, allowed those who could hop right on to get on, but gave me a step to get on to get on to my horse (my horse was REALLY TALL)! Dave stayed back at the stable and let us go out on the trail with our guide (sorry forgot his name)....but he was EXCELLENT TOO!!!! We tried to stay in a single file line with the beginner horses in the front and middle and the novice riders in the rear to try and keep everyone on the trail...even though my horse and I were matched for me being a beginner, my horse just wanted to stay in the back, in the bushes and eat anything possible! PERFECT MATCH! We were out on the horses for about 45 mins and then we took a break. The guide lead us to where there were 2 picnic tables and brought us snacks and bottles of water! It was great to take a break and to get some great photos w/ our horses. I could go on and on about how great the guide was, the horses were and Dave, the owner!
