We really thought we were going to love this place. I already wrote a great review six months ago because my daughter was enjoying her lessons with the trainer Julia (although she was really not supposed to be doing lessons and was actually the farm manager). The owner, Evonne, definitely promised a lot as mentioned in the other review by Chris (it's hidden so please go look at hers and others that are there). I was sold just like Chris and other parents in that she told us on how amazing and talented Julia was, after all she was phenomenal Grand Prix Jumper who competed in Europe and all. In Evonne's words, "she's the real deal." I was hooked and my daughter trained with Julia learning to walk and trot, how to tack up, technique of holding reins, etc. Well, that all ended abruptly when we found out Julia was fired. Julia was never truly hired for lessons, and Julia was given SO many! Julia had agreed to do lessons for us and some other kiddos who were further along now, but not for a pony lead line lesson (she's way too valuable and experienced for that). The other young gal trainers should only have been given those, and we all knew it. Sadly, I watched surprise lessons pop up here and there, no warning for Julia and double booked for all the trainers. And these poor horses! We watched so many horses turn lame because the lesson horses went out multiple times a day from Tues through Saturday (they don't have nearly enough rideable horses to have a great lesson program). We loved those horses, and will definitely miss them. But there was no way we could stay at this facility once trainer Julia was let-go. Safety is the number one concern as a parent, and as we finished out our final lessons, we knew and saw that safety concerns were not a high priority anymore and my daughter would not advance as a rider (we never saw anyone jumping or even jumping equipment like cross rails or poles for 7 months). It was a HUGE mistake to let Julia go. This place could have achieved a great riding program with her. read more

My review is for horse boarding the year of 2021. Worst management ever. Highest DRAMA boarding facility I have encountered in my 30+ years as an equestrian. TOXIC environment. I HAVE RECEIPTS FROM EVERY SINGLE BOARD PAYMENT. Thank GOD I keep all my receipts, and have a backup digital copy as well. For more than 6 months, every time I saw Yvonne I asked for an invoice and "stated please tell me my balance, I want to pay it in full. EVERY TIME she replied "I'll get that for you sweetie...no problem" THE Only way to get to get AN INVOICE was to put in my 30 day notice... Which Yvonne FINALLY PROVIDED A "final incorrect bill" of $2500. The ranch DOES NOT KEEP ANY RECORDS OF PAYMENTS MADE BY THEIR BOARDERS. Zilch, zero. Lied to my face about this, and slandered others. They keep no records at all. She blamed others for 'stealing them.' My final board check of $600 was never cashed, despite handing it to Evonne. The stable does not deposit board payments.... I had to call the Sheriff for assistance removing my horse from Windsor and "keep the peace...." Only board here if you want PTSD on departure... Immediately after I gave my 30 day notice the situation became dangerous for my steed. They" lost" my brand new Winter blanket...$600. I do not recommend boarding here, it was a nightmare!!! read more

Evonne and her team at Windsor are great! They really care about the horses and keep the facility nice and clean. Even after all the rain this year, Evonne, Pedro and the staff were non-stop working to make sure everything was taken care of and nice for the horses. They truly care about the horses, their well-being and do a wonderful job of making boarders feel welcomed. Evonne is a lovely person who is very knowledgeable! Her and her staff are wonderful to be around. If you're looking for a boarding facility or lessons, I highly recommend Windsor Equestrian Center! read more

could not recommend windsor enough!! the facility is very well taken care of with so many great amenities that you don't see at other facilities. an indoor barn, a solarium, a very large arena that never floods, and spacious tack sheds. the horses are extremely well taken care of and well looked after by evonne, pedro, and the rest of the staff. evonne has been a font of knowledge and always knows what's best for the horses and their owners. i've never been to a barn where the staff truly care for the horses like they are their own, but windsor is exactly that. i highly recommend this facility, and especially if you're a first time horse owner, evonne will have your back and she will make sure you and your horse have the best care and quality of life. read more

Took my kids here for their first horseback riding lessons. They really enjoyed themselves. So I signed them up for 1 time a week. Owner is on site and does training herself along with other trainers. So excited for my kids and I also am going to sign up. Definitely recommend foe anyone wanting to learn and get some fresh air while you are at it. read more

I have always wanted to board my horse at Windsor Equestrian Center in Lakeside, California. I do now and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE Yvonne the owner so much. The entire staff there is amazing. It really comes down to the owner however and where their motives and passion and expertise are at as well as their dedication and presence at the facility. Yvonne is so easy to work with. When I request anything at all she immediately supports my wishes. My horse likes an extra shade tarp and wind chimes and lots of toys and even having a mini kiddy pool in his corral. She has said yes to all of my requests. She is always on site. She stayed there until 1am on the Fourth of July and kept all of the arena lights on and she played fun music through the arena speakers to keep the horses entertained so they would not focus on the fireworks. She has a summer training camp for kids and it is really cute to see them there enjoying the riding lessons. There is no waiting around for use of either large arena. The place just flows so easily. Tons of palm trees and pepper trees. The horses are well taken care of. There are people on site who will turn your horse out or even bathe it for a very small fee. The rates are great and include lots of amenities. You will see some gorgeous horses there. None of the horses show any aggression towards each other or towards people. The mucking is handled professionally and daily. All horses are masked. Lots of fans and misters. Lots of storage space. Beautiful setting with lots of seats to relax in beneath huge shade trees. Equestrian and Western classes available for everyone. I am completely trusted to be alone on the property if I stay late with my horse which I really appreciate. Whatever you want or need Yvonne will accommodate you right away. She is a dream come true. I highly recommend Windsor Equestrian center to everyone. read more

I was so disappointed in this facility. The new owner is unfriendly, untruthful, and not approachable. I had heard from people there that their tack had gone missing, and the owner blamed others, then told them to let it go and move on. Stalls were dirty, and one I saw was completely flooded by an unbalanced waterer. I felt when I was there that I was unwelcome, and was watched suspiciously by an older woman. The horses looked to be fed well, but the overall atmosphere of the barn was toxic. I wouldn't recommend Windsor Equestrian to anyone. What this barn does have in its favor is the location. It is easily accessible off the 67 at Willows road. It is a very large facility with a large and small arena. read more

Evonne the owner comes across as a knowledgeable and friendly horse enthusiast however her reputation among the horse community has revealed several red flags. She is unpredictable, may or may not return phone calls and admits she doesn't read texts. Her poor communication and questionable business acumen will leave you frustrated and stranded wondering what and why she is ignoring your calls. I don't recommend doing business here... I was left heartbroken and disappointed. If you take your chances good luck to you. This is not a place for purchasing a horse. FYI read more

The horse riding lessons here at Windsor are top notch. I started my girls' riding lessons here last year, when they were ages 5 & 7. The owner, Evonne, has been SOOO welcoming to us. Her trainers are awesome with my girls, and the horses are all perfectly leveled for my girls' riding ability. I wanted an environment where my girls will learn to actually ride - where they can 'read' and understand a horse and know its personality when they ride. I didn't want an equestrian center where the trainers are merely focused on my kids learning to win competitions. I found exactly what I am looking for at Windsor. The horses are amazing and so safe All horses and lessons are appropriate for their level of riding (basically beginners), gentle and each is unique. Nacho is my girls' favorite. Evonne rescues all of the horses from auction in Texas; most auction horses have much different fates. These lucky few are just amazing and we're super stoked on Windsor! read more
