Man, I really wanted to like this place, but after my first visit to see the Monster Truck Wars, I am not sure I will ever go back. This review is specifically for the Monster Truck War event. Tickets were so much cheaper than the Monster Jam, so it was very appealing to take my son. I purchased the $40 VIP ticket. A complete waste of money. There was nothing VIP about our experience. There was no reserved seating. The ticket was supposed to get you into the Pit Party a little early and early to grab your seats. The problem was there was no one checking tickets, so everyone arriving at the same time was going into the pit party and saving their seats in the front rows. I could have had my same seats and go to the pit party with a regular $15 ticket and no one would have known the difference. They were doing rides on Monster Trucks. We were standing in line and the announcer kept promoting the rides on the loud speakers for $15 a person. When we got our chance to ride, we were told it was $20 and that the announcer was wrong. The announcer literally said $15 again while I was questioning it, at I was told it's $20 no expections. If you have a wheel chair or a stroller, good luck. Everything is dirt and broken asphalt in all of the seating and walking areas. If you are in the seats closet to the track, it's the worst. Very hard to walk without falling. The Monster Truck show it's self was ok, except for the cloud of dust that covered the seats when they did donuts. Be sure to cover your face. Overall, it was just not enjoyable. I would rather spend the extra money to watch the Monster Trucks at Snap Dragon next time they are here. read more

TWO WHEELS vs MUSCLE CARS When mini motorcycles and scooters take over the runway it's a sight to see. Around Fall (Oct), my friends host an event all weekend and one of those weekends would be here to race two wheels. Not just any two wheels, mini motorcycles and scooters with modz. Yup, one of them raced a muscle car and was 1 second behind - how impressive is that. There are two sides. Spectator Side and Racing Side. It's about $20 either side. I was on the Racing side with my friends. Tents and bbq were setup - it literally was like a tailgate party of us representing the mini motorcycles and scooters crews. Races were fun to watch. No shade on the bleacher side so wear a lot of sunscreen. It was def a different kind of fun. The typical crowd their.. uhm.. east county types. So I felt awkward at first. But then you get over it because it's all about the races. read more

My husband loves going to the races. He has enjoyed going to Barona Speedway over the years. He is a disabled vet. and didn't appreciate the raise in price after COVID, but he still enjoys a race here and there. We went last month and the races were canceled due to rain. They didn't offer a rain check. We called today hoping to go tonight. My husband asked about a rain check, but the woman he spoke to very rudely said, "ABSOLUTELY NOT!". If she would've been nice about it, we probably wouldn't have minded to pay another $40 to go, but she was outright rude. He told her that he wouldn't be going there any more, and she said, "good.". Well, if they don't want our business, they probably don't want yours either. Kindness goes a long way. read more

Watched a few races! It was a great time! You can bring coolers with any drink you want and yes that means alcoholic beverages! Yippie! I would definitely bring a DD since the road is a little on the winedy side. People can get a little overboard. They had a snack bar that was full of goodies. Tri-Tip sandwiches, cheese burgers, hotdogs, fries, hot chocolate, soda, coffee, chips, candy etc...you get it! Definitely a must for families w/ kids whether this is your cup of tea or not you will have a great time! read more

I was lamenting the loss of Cajon Speedway and Saturday night short track racing in the San Diego area untill I discovered Barona Speedway! First of all, this is just a chill place to hang out and watch racing.The admission is only $10 and you can bring your own coolers, food,drink,and even beer! (no bottles allowed).You can also arrive early before the racing actions starts and enjoy tailgating in the parking lot.For those that dont bring food to the track,no problem! The facility has consession stands that can cover all the bases-bottled water,sodas,hamburgers,hot-dogs,nachos,churros,soft serve ice cream,and more!They also have a souvenior booth that sells diecast collectibles and other interesting stuff assiocated with racing. About the track:its a 1/4 mile dirt semi banked oval.Some of the classes include dwarfs,sprints,ICMA modifieds,street stocks,pony stocks,and factory stocks.The car turnout for the lower classes are good and provides lots of side by side racing action on the track.The car counts however for the upper classes like the sprints and ICMA modifieds are low and it hurts the racing action somewhat.Hopefully that will change over time and that whats prevents me from giving this place 5 stars for now. After the racing action has concluded for the night you can enter the pits,check out the cars and hang out with the drivers.Most are really laid back and approachable.For a night of cheap entertainment and fun make Barona Speedway your Saturday night destination! read more

Fantastic, FAMILY oriented place! 1/2 mile dirt oval track racing, local/hometown feel. All sorts of types of cars from super-modifieds to cheapie pony-stock (Pintos!). Even kids in lawnmower type engined, super safe, cars put on a show and have a blast. In what looked like trouble one of the kids cars (totally enclosed) rolled over off the track. Adults/safety folks were right there, rolled the car back on it's wheels and the driver got out and wanted to continue! Car wouldn't go though :( As others have said, very hometown feel, nice folks at refreshment stand have standard treats for not crazy prices (like fancy, national amusement parks), burgers, tri-tip (Mmmm good!), hot dogs, candy, drinks, etc. And/or you can bring your own cooler with food, drinks, etc. Hometown feel is continued as you watch the races and someone in racing suit walks up to the stands to see their family and friends from the previous race! Everyone is friendly, if you don't understand what happened or is happening or why, just ask, they'll fill you in. Sometimes with more info they you needed, but always friendly... :) It really is a fun thing to do, I brought my girlfriend, who's NOT into cars or racing or anything like that, and at first, she was scared of the bumping that goes on in the races, afraid someone would get hurt. After watching for a while and understanding the safety that's followed, and seeing a couple of crashes, and the drivers either just continuing the race, exiting and coming BACK to race, or just climbing out of a car that's really disabled and waving to the audience, she actually enjoyed it and looks forward to each time we go! So bring a friend, or three, and some family, and the kids and have a fabulous time! Opens, I think at 5pm for the heat races. Goes no later than 11pm, main races start around 8. $10 per person to get in. Dirt parking lot, so don't wash your car just before coming... :) Can be HOT in summer before the sun goes down, so bear that in mind. Also can be quite cool in the evening early in the season. Seats are bleachers, no backs, so bring one of those seats that provide a back and/or hook on the bleacher to give some support. I also like to bring something padded to sit on. Do you remember when El Cajon Speedway was around? I do! I went there with my family, growing up watching the races on the 3/8 mile paved track having a great time. When Cajon Speedway closed I was super bummed! That was a great place for families to get together and have a good time without spending a fortune. Well... for those of you that do not know... there is still a place to get your race fix! I have been going to Barona Speedway for a couple years now and I love it. I may love it more than Cajon Speedway... and here is why: You can bring your own alcohol! Whatever you want, just leave the glass bottles at home! Tailgate all day if you want (gates open at 1:00pm) and if you do not feel like driving home after the races you are welcome to camp out for the night as long as you leave by noon the next day. If you don't want to bring your own food that's fine because the concession stands have it covered! Your typical hamburger, hot dog, french fries (amazing cheese fries!) nachos and churros... might be your typical food but it's actually really tasty and everything is around $3-$6 so very reasonably priced. The people I have met at Barona Speedway are awesome and enthusiastic about racing and sportsmanship. Families hang out with their kids... people bring their dogs and have an all around good old fashioned American race day! The 1/4 mile dirt track that kicks dirt and dust all over you and your beer may be a bit different than the track at Cajon but Barona is a blast and for $10.00 it's worth it! ($5.00 for teens, 7-12 $2.00 and 6 and under are free) Come out and cheer for your favorite driver and/or car and if you don't have one then go down to the pits and meet up with the Barona entertainment crews. I love me some off-road racing and its gotten so dangerous and unfriendly at times when you head south for some Score. Hoping to go soon but if in need for a fix of beers and dust on your truck and teeth its a blast. The pelting of mud hitting you in the beginning of the qualifying will startle you but if you don't park close to the track you will be fine. Just a great day cheap food some beer and checking out the hot MILFs on a hot day totally worth it. Definitely returning and taking friends. Watch out I am going BRO! read more

Get here early to find a good spot. You'll want to be at a higher elevation to see all of the races over the protective barriers! Awesome, cheap and fun! 1st time attending last weekend and let me tell you, this will be a new place we frequent. 1st things first, BRING CASH! No where on their website does it state cash only and you will either have to drive back into Ramona or towards Barona Casino's gas station (about 3.2 miles down the road). Very chill yet family friendly venue. Love the idea that you can tailgate with your own bbq's and drinks (that also includes alcoholic which you can also bring into the grand stand - obviously be responsible and respectful with your consumption). Day gets super warm. Make sure to bring your sunglasses and some WARM clothes for when the sun goes down. Great little snack bar, very nice clean bathrooms. Love the family friendly hometowny feel. Next time we are bringing all our friends so we can help keep this gem alive. read more

I have been fortunate resident of this town for most of life and seen little by little every thing that has to do with motor-sports fade away (Del Mar GP anyone?, el cajon and carlsbad raceway, etc.....) My husband and I try and attend every race possible. Such a fun place to come and hang out on a weekend evening! Such a laid back place, bring your own ice chest, food and drinks. Only $10 per adult to get in for hours of fun. You can come early and tailgate, stay late and visit the pits, and camp out. Would highly recommend if you are looking for something to do to get you out of town. read more
