This museum is huuuuuge. It's a bit confusing for a tourist who doesn't speak the language. I first…read moreentered the building, which I thought was the main building and started wondering around trying to find the ticketing area, but there was none. I found myself in a gallery until a security guard told me that this is a ticketed area and told me to get a ticket from the gift shop. I went to the gift shop and bought my ticket and then they directed to a separate building where the museum actually was. While I walked there, I passed by an aquarium and walked in and it turned out that you need a separate ticket for it! I left the aquarium and continued my quest to find the museum. I passed by a garden with various statues, pretty cool and the museum and right behind that. Went into the museum building and walked in to what I thought was part of the exhibit and it turned out to be the back part of it and I was directed to go to the other end. Yes! I finally found it! They took my ticket and I entered the museum exhibit area. It's a gallery of the history of Mexico from ancient times to almost current day. I love that for most of the articles, there's an English translation below it as well. Definitely recommend checking out this museum. Don't get lost!

The museum is very well thought out, interesting and well designed. It gives a history focusing on the Baja California region of Mexico. It was very informative and helped to learn a lot about the area, its indigenous people and how it came to be the Baja we know today. I enjoyed it immensely though do wish there was more emphasis on the indigenous communities and their contributions to the culture and not so heavy on the impact of the Spanish especially the priests and monks. They do history a disservice by not mentioning the atrocities that transpired against the native people by the conquerers both religious and otherwise in the name of religion and "gentrification". We need to be honest, so that these crimes against humanity are not soon repeated.

Viniendo de San Diego, el foro esta localizado en una área bastante fácil de encontrar ya que esta en Ave. Revolución. Aunque el área esta ocupada, estacionamiento generalmente es fácil de encontrar. Durante conciertos, hay varios locales alrededor que ofrecen tarifas baratas. E tenido el gusto de poder ver a grandes artistas, unos de mis favoritos: Panda, Fobia, División Minúscula, Zoe y otros rockeros. Lo mejor es que boletos de piso son unos de los más baratos, chistoso que en comparación de San Diego esos son los más caros. Quien va a conciertos para sentarse?? Yo no. Seguiré asistiendo a este lugar mientras sigan trayendo a mis favoritos. Allí los veo!

There's literally NO bad seat in this intimate theater. I'm not exaggerating. While the balcony seats at the downtown Civic Theatre might leave you squinting at tiny figures at premium prices, here I felt like I was practically part of the show regardless of where I sat. And at these super reasonable prices? It's almost criminal how much value you're getting. Walking into their production of "Hello, Dolly!" I was immediately struck by how the modest stage might compare to larger Broadway venues. This is a place where size absolutely doesn't matter here. The creative team masterfully used every square inch of that space, with choreography that had me wondering how they fit so much spectacular dancing into such a cozy setting. Those dancers deserve medals for their spatial awareness alone! What truly sets SDMT apart is the caliber of talent they attract. This isn't just "good for local theater"--these are performers who deliver professional-quality entertainment that had me smiling from the opening number to the final bow. The acting was so engaging that I completely forgot there wasn't a traditional orchestra. Did I miss it? Not for a second. The performers commanded the space so completely that any potential limitations simply vanished. While here are no actual curtains, it didn't detract from the experience, this adds to the intimate, immersive quality that makes this theater special. You're not just watching a show, you're part of its world from the moment you take your seat. For North County residents, this place is a revelation. The easy drive and FREE parking situation (though come early, as spaces are limited and you might need to street park) makes this infinitely more accessible than the downtown venue. No parking fees, no traffic nightmares, just straight to the entertainment. Walking out after the show, I found myself repeating "wow, wow, wow" like a happy theater mantra. I'm definitely going back there is nothing I could possibly complain. Even the restrooms were kept clean and just liked that they cleaned the seats as they guided you to your seat.
