(even Tsa recognizes this as Id for flights) - - - So beware: if you want to purchase alcohol, bring your physical Id card, or you won't be getting beer from the alcohol nazis. ~ Some things that are better than back in the day : - cleaner : the venue overall is cleaner that most large venues back in the day. - food: believe it or not , some large venues didn't even offer food. - sound: acoustic technology improvements of course. Dear North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre Management,…read more I want to start by saying that **I am not someone who typically takes the time to put a complaint in writing.** I understand that large events come with inconveniences, crowds, traffic, and delays, and normally I accept those things as part of the experience. **For me to sit down and formally write a complaint, the experience has to be truly horrific--and unfortunately, that is the best way I can describe what happened at your venue.** In fact, I had **vowed never to attend another concert at this amphitheatre** specifically because of the parking and traffic situation. Despite that, I decided to give the venue another chance because my young daughter loves the artists who were performing, and I wanted to share that experience with her. There was also a sense of nostalgia in returning. I remember when this amphitheatre was first built and the excitement of having a major outdoor concert venue here in Chula Vista. Over the years, I have attended some incredible shows there, including **Maná, Eminem, Luis Miguel, Santana, and Pitbull**, among others. I have a lot of great memories associated with this venue. Unfortunately, the experience of trying to leave after this concert reminded me exactly why I had stopped attending events there. I completely understand that a heavily attended concert will create traffic. I don't expect to leave a major concert and immediately drive out of the parking lot. Some congestion and waiting are inevitable. **What happened that night, however, went far beyond normal concert traffic.** After sitting virtually motionless in my car for **almost an hour**, it was approaching **midnight**, and I finally got out of my vehicle to find out why nobody was moving. What I discovered was honestly more disturbing than the wait itself. There was a **young parking attendant essentially by himself, with no visible supervision or management support, doing the best he could to control an increasingly frustrated and chaotic situation.** He was trying to direct multiple lanes of vehicles while dealing with frustrated drivers and, in some cases, completely unacceptable behavior. **On multiple occasions, I witnessed people threatening to run this young man over with their vehicles.** At that point, another bystander and **I actually stepped in and began helping him direct traffic** because it was obvious that he was overwhelmed and had been placed in an impossible situation. I want to be very clear: **I do not blame that young attendant.** Quite the opposite. I felt terrible for him. He was doing everything he could under circumstances that should never have been allowed to develop. My question to your organization is very simple: **WHERE WAS MANAGEMENT?**

Came for Disney on Ice at 11am on a saturday-…read more Finding tickets was a little confusing, not sure if there's a way to buy them besides a third party site which I don't normally prefer to do, but this time worked out using Stubhub, I presume bc it was not a super popular time to go to this event and it had multiple shows. Two tickets in the terrace 16 section cost about $75 with taxes and fees. I also prepaid for parking online to save $10, but I thought $30 was a little steep for the lot, come to learn there's the possibility of free street parking in the area as well. Inside the arena was fine, a bit vintage but did the job. Seats were easy enough to find but it would be cool to have some direction on where to park for your section as we ended up on the other side but it wasn't too bad of a walk and I parked near an exit for an easy way to get out. All in all I would come back here for an event but would try to figure out how to park on the street.

Coming from LA I did not think that this number of cars in high and dense proximity to each other could bother me. How wrong my sweet and innocent mind was. We were here for a League Cup game; again innocently thinking that we could manage driving here and then paying some understandably exorbitant parking fee - but hopefully at least getting what we paid for. But there were NO REMAINING PARKING SPACES for us and dozens others despite being charged $55 by a living and breathing person at the front of the lot. Then be prepared to wait 30-45 min once you end up double parking and find your car after the game and miserably attempt to leave. The process for cars to leave is a free-for-all taken straight from Chaotica: Frenzy at the Border. How hard is it to have an automated system that doesn't allow additional (paying) cars in after a clear cap is set? The "yellow" parking lot is an absolute disaster. I don't know what seventh circle of hell this management is from (or going to). Admissions/ticketing process is also a nightmare. More lines that snake around erratically. Food here is ok and decent-ish alcohol selections. Better food at BMO and SoFi; sorry...! TAKE THE TRAIN OR TROLLEY if you can. Or, be a cowboy and forge your own parking space situation and exit strategy.

There happened to be swag which for this game was a pretty sick jacket. I will say what I appreciate about this stadium is that they have great food options. Same for drinks. It was actually a little overwhelming having to pick. I ended up going for a long walk checking all the options before deciding on Hodads. Getting out is a breeze. There's a ton of staff when you're exiting I'm assuming to make sure all goes well. Everyone I encountered was super nice.

Regardless, it is generally a great place to catch a show. Through the years, I have seen many great shows here including Flogging Molly, The Shins, Prince, Interpol, and many others. I hadn't been in a couple years, but last week my husband and I went to see The Human Leave, Soft Cell, and Alison Moyet (Yaz). It was an incredible show. Starting out, there are a few things that I dislike about the venue. First, because it is on a college campus, parking can be difficult and you are basically forced into the $30 paid parking garage. Also, I was suffering from a recent sports injury, making the trek across campus to the theater a bit of a task. In the past, the lines for swag and drinks have been nearly impossible, though, this time, they were much improved. Finally, the trek to the ladies' room is a bit far depending on your seat. Also, it is not a large restroom and the line goes slowly, However, it is clean. On the flip side, there are a lot of positive points to this venue. The location is generally decent as it is not far from town. Despite the crowds coming in for shows, it doesn't take too long to get in and out of the parking lots. The event staff consists of many college students working concessions or ushering, and they are very friendly. It is really a nice, open, outdoor, relaxing venue. There is not a bad seat in the house (as many other reviews state). I have been in front, in back, and in the middle. I have been able to see and hear the show very well from each of my seats. It has also been my experience that the crowd has been generally a well-behaved, polite group, though I guess you can't alway count on that. All in all, it is a great place to catch a show, especially during the beautiful San Diego summer months.
