The stadium has much to recommend it, but the fact remains they have sold off the naming right to a faceless corporation - and Snapdragon has to do with some component in a smartphone - nothing to do with soccer or sports, at all. True class would have been to name the stadium after Jack Murphy, the person who the original stadium was named for - that naming choice would have represented continuity, a recognition that history and the city matter. Now Jack Murphy only gets a statue of himself and his dog outside the stadium, with a plaque talking about all the sponsors of the statue, not actually explaining who the man himself was. Again, true class would have been to kept the name Jack Murphy for the stadium - but true class is hard to find in America these days. Snapdragon can never become a legendary stadium like Old Trafford of Man U, the Bernabeu of Real Madrid, or the Maracana of Brazil with a sold off stadium name representing nothing that'll change every 20 years. read more

Parking $50 minimum Food RIP OFF Snapdragon Stadium should be one of the best places in San Diego to watch soccer. The stadium itself is beautiful. The grounds, surrounding park areas, and overall design are fantastic. The seating is great, the sightlines are excellent, and the atmosphere during a San Diego FC match is genuinely fun. The fans bring energy and the venue has all the ingredients to be a top-tier experience. Unfortunately, the entire experience gets ruined by the absolutely outrageous cost of food, drinks, and parking. This is an MLS game, not the Super Bowl. Yet the prices inside the stadium make it feel like you're attending a once-in-a-lifetime championship event. If you're trying to build a strong fan base, especially among families, this pricing strategy makes absolutely no sense. A family should not feel like they're taking out a second mortgage just to buy a couple hot dogs and drinks during a regular weekend match. The result is obvious when you look around the stadium -- there are empty seats everywhere. This place should be packed and turning people away. Instead, many fans simply choose not to come because the basics are priced so ridiculously high. Parking is another problem entirely. The contract must of been one of those Godfather signatures, "They were made an offer they couldn't refuse," because the prices are completely out of control, and the way it's communicated is even worse. There is almost no clear signage anywhere directing you to lots or showing prices ahead of time. You either have to look it up online beforehand or find out the price when you're already pulling up to someone taking your credit card. Suddenly you're being charged $50 for the Orange Lot with no prior warning. That's not just expensive, it feels deceptive. Then there's the food itself. On top of the extreme pricing, some of the portion sizes are laughable. The sandwiches we received for our family were tiny for what they cost. Paying premium prices for underwhelming portions just adds insult to injury. Until this pricing model changes, I will not be coming back to another game. For anyone thinking about attending: Take the trolley, eat before you go, or plan to eat afterward. Do not plan to spend money inside the stadium unless you enjoy feeling like you've been ripped off. This venue could easily become one of the best soccer experiences in the country -- but right now, the greed around food, drinks, and parking is driving fans away. Shout out to Snapdragon Stadium for holding Monster Jan 2026 this weekend, absolutely fun event! Perfect stadium for something like this. The stadium itself seemed to have plenty of entry spots and exits so crowding didn't happen. There was plenty of security and law enforcement around. There were plenty of restrooms as well...more beer than food options haha. The stadium does have an unfinished feel to it but overall it's not a bad venue. Not one of my favorite venues in SD. We're here for Monster Jam, and occasionally another event like a concert. Whoever designed this had never been to a sporting event or concert before. If it's hot there's no sun protection at all, and if it rains you're gonna get wet. The only protected places are private suites, the Pepsi Zone, and the Zoo-sponsored cafeteria. Food is pretty good, if on the pricey side. If you're not a fan of Pepsi, head to Crack Shack because they serve Batch soda. You can bring in a sealed water bottle, if you want to save on drinks. Other downside is parking. Pay ahead of time online for your specific day, it will save you a few dollars. There is a handicap lot at the North end of the stadium for ease of entry. Just expect it to take a while to get out of the area after an event. read more

Another fun night at SnapDragon! San Diego FC made an epic comeback to win 4-1 after being down 0-1 at halftime. I predicted a 4-1 Final Score and was spot on with the outcome! Getting in and out was a cinch. Easy parking, amazing seats and overall a perfect night. An Alex Morgan lookalike was seated next to me too... I love this stadium although I wish parking was organized better. I purchased parking ahead of time and the lots were not labeled. Trying to get out is also an unorganized mess and took a good 40 minutes to get out of. This stadium is a perfect place to see Events. We attended the Monster Jam 2026 event along with the Pit pass event- best performances ever! They also have plenty of security and staff around. They have a fair amount of vendors. You can get anything from salads to Mexican food to pizza. Plenty of junk food available as well as hard liquor. Food is definitely pricey. We love the merchandise stands, they sell shirts, hats, blankets, monster truck toys and more. We will definitely be back except we will take an uber next time. read more

Throughout the construction of this stadium, I got to watch it all be built from a literal dirt field to what it's become now. While we've questioned some of the choices along the way, it's overall a solid addition to the Mission Valley neighborhood. This is the home stadium for SDSU's football team as well as San Diego FC and the San Diego Wave. Evening sports games are lovely, but day time games are rough with zero shade available in the stadium. As you likely saw by the news on its opening day, it was kind of a mess, so I'd avoid daytime attendance here. They have a great variety of local vendors. As you walk around, you'll see so many familiar spots serving up food to give a true San Diego experience. Because the majority of vendors are on the first floor, the concourses can get pretty packed. One benefit is that there is tons of parking available or you can use the trolley to get here. Of course, you have to pay, but it's nice that it's available and isn't too hard to get in and out of the area. Outside of games within the stadium, they also hold concerts there both within the stadium and in the grassy fields on the outside. We arrived to our event (San Diego FC ) shortly after kickoff but we were able to see the show kickoff fireworks as we weee coming in. Parking was a little rough. You can either pay $55 for dirt road parking or we noticed some people weee desperate to find spots and started parking in the roundabouts. It made for an interesting drive home to get through those roundabouts very carefully. Security was a breeze because we only had our phones. Highly suggest to avoid bringing valuables. Came for the Shakira concert, just to park at Snapdragon Stadium. The cost was $60. When checking in with security and tickets staff divided the entrances. Once I was only for Floor seating and the other side was for a regular admission. When walking in the bathrooms were overflowing and absolutely packed. My sister and myself were kicked out of bathroom line by staff members because they were closing off walkways for security purposes.. Thank you to the staff member who told us to just go to our designated seating floor and at that level we would find bathrooms. Honestly, that was the only staff member that truly helped us out. The crowd is so busy at the bathrooms and food areas located close to the entrance that they don't know where else to go . We bought merchandise but they dont provide bags. Okay so I've been to Snapdragon a few times now for rugby games and different soccer league matches. They have great food options and lots of drink areas. Cocktails, beers, sodas, kebabs, chicken tenders, pizza... you name it. You get a pretty good view from every seat and it never takes too long to get in but they have decent security. My one gripe is that they do not have a good bathroom system. When it's halftime the lines are always SO long and can bring down the overall experience. Other than that it's very conveniently located right off the trolley so you can park for free elsewhere or pay to park in their large lot! read more

I went to this venue for a concert a year ago. My husband is a quadriplegic and I have hidden disabilities. We got disabled tickets for the concert. This is where it gets weird!! Their disabled tickets were first come, first serve, when you bought the tickets no seat assignment!! So when we got there you had to go to the guest services area to get your seat assignment and then if you came early to get better seats, you were sitting in the sun. Not good at all!! You would not treat your dog like this!! We didn't feel very welcome!! We were made to feel like second class citizens!! If not already fixed. Please fix this issue!!! read more

Husband and I took the kiddo to see Monster Jam yesterday and actually really enjoyed the stadium! Granted, we arrived early and had to leave at half time. So there was no traffic at all. Show time was at 5:00pm and we arrived at 3:30pm without any traffic. It gave us lots of time to park comfortably, eat, and browsed the stadium before the show. Parking was about $3 cheaper online via Ticketmaster than at the stadium. I liked all of the local food vendors like Hodad's and Cali Bbq. Prices were high but that's expected. Food tasted good enough but nothing to write home about. I actually really liked the stadium. It was open and airy with plenty of seatings to eat comfortably before the show. Attended Supercross and enjoyed the event. We had great seats but there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I don't think I'd like to event another event without using a rideshare service because the traffic is INSAAAANE!! Believe it or not, the line to get in starts at the fwy exit! It definitely moves pretty slow and the traffic continues for a long time. We chose to leave the event early in order to save some time with the exit rush. read more

Got there 45 minutes before the event even started at 5 and easily took an hour or more just to park bc they had everyone going to one entrances from all different directions and some workers were prioritizing one street than the other so it'll back us up and not to mention the traffic lights would go green to red within 30 seconds and mind you the event started at 5 so by the time I actually parked the event had already been going for a good 45 minutes to hour and I still needed to walk a good distance to go through security and find are seats so we ended up leaving. read more

I was a student at SDSU many years ago. At that time the old Jack Murphy Stadium was on this piece of land, where both the San Diego Chargers and San Diego State Aztecs football team played. That stadium was not so great, so good news that they demolished it and replaced it with Snapdragon Stadium. My first and only visit was this summer to see the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team play a game against the Fijian national team. It was a very positive experience. Here are my thoughts about the pros and cons: The Good: Well designed stadium with comfortable seats and good elevation from the row in front of you, so even short people can see the field relatively easy. Sparking new facility Clean restrooms and plenty of food outlets The Bad: InBev monopoly on beer - it you don't like Budweiser, Golden Road, etc. no beer for you. Yeah, like all stadiums, the prices for food and beverages are high. The parking lot is gravel. For what they charge for parking, they should pave it. The ingress/egress for parking was designed by a moron. It takes way too long to park and exit. If you sit on the east side of the stadium, be prepared for a lot of late afternoon eye squinting as the sun goes down. Good for the players on the field, sucks for fans. The signage could be improved a lot. Finding your seats when you first enter the stadium is harder than it should be. All said, I will come back again for the right event(s). We went to the SDFC vs TJ Xolos game last night. Our first experience with Snapdragon.. Parking and security were disorganized with little direction on where to go, though ticket scanning, restrooms, and food ordering were limited. Seating was confusing to locate due to unclear signage, and when we arrived, others were in our seats. The layout forced everyone through ONE narrow exit in our section, creating unsafe congestion. We witnessed multiple people slip on the stairs, and the setup did not feel safe or accessible for anyone with mobility needs or without. The fireworks after each goal filled the stadium with smoke, making it difficult to breathe, and the announcer consistently called goals late, killing the momentum instead of energizing the crowd. They can take pointers from the announcers and crowd momentum from PETCO. The stadium design overall is flawed, with NO shade or cover means fans are either at risk of sunburn or left in the rain. The overall lack of organization, lack of safety concerns, and comfort made the experience overwhelming and disappointing. The stadium look is still unfinished and still needs MAJOR work. read more

Parking $40 - best way to get in the Orange lot is as soon as you exit the 15 S stay on the right lane and then take the street exit to Mission Village Dr and then make a left. First time at the stadium to watch a Leagues Cup game! Exited the freeway an hour before the event started but with the jam to get inside didn't actually park until 6:40 and by the time we walked and finally entered the stadium it was 7pm - right on time for the start of the game. I do advise to arrive early because there seems to be only one way to get into the Orange Lot. Also exiting the stadium was terrible! It being a dirt lot there's no sense of direction and becomes a huge mess. Overall the stadium is super nice! So many cool food and drink spots! The view is great no matter what section. Love the players, hate the stadium. Snapdragon feels like a reboot of San Diego Stadium's 1967 blueprint, a soulless concrete monolith surrounded by nothing. No sightlines to the field from the concourse. No atmosphere. The only "entertainment" is a 13-minute walk down a six-lane road to a McDonald's next to a Costco gas station. There's a reason Petco Park is the number-one-rated ballpark in MLB: it's vibrant, connected, and uniquely San Diego. Snapdragon is the polar opposite: sterile, isolated, and utterly forgettable. Lots of fun tailgating to be had. The redline train can transport you from MANY locations in San Diego to the stadium.
