My only complaint is the seating is confusing. We circled the entire stadium and ended up wishing we had stayed in the beer garden while the sun set. But, the beer garden and the spot next to it are pretty awesome. Everything was clean and staff were friendly. Also there are many fun bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. It made for a top-tier night. Go Padres!
There is a reason Petco Park is the #1 Ballpark in America. The views of the bay and city skyline are spectacular. Although, we have been to Petco Park for many events. This was our first time in the main stadium for a concert. We previously attended Gallagher Square last season. On this visit, we joined the Ed Sheeran Loop Tour. Opening acts included; Sigrid and Myles Smith who entertained us well. The highlight of the show for me was the suprise guest and former local Alex Warren. To hear Ordinary performed by both artists was incredible. I reserved our seats in the Sunset Section and the views were just right. Petco has a solid food selection and even better beverage offerings. I am a fan of Cutwater Spirits and enjoyed the new Lemon Drop Martini and the Grape Vodka Cocktail. My new favorites. I usually avoid stadium and arena tours but this was so worth the trip. #PetcoPark #EdSheeran #AlexWarren #MylesSmith #CutwaterSpirits
I am so happy that the Padres decided to bring back African-American heritage night. After three years of not having African-American heritage night, it showed up on the theme game schedule within the last month or so. I was very excited and hopeful that we would be able to attend in this worked out. Upon arrival, we also noticed that they were giving out Padres ponchos. The ponchos were really cute and so I'm happy that we also were able to receive that item as a giveaway. The African-American heritage night hats were really well designed and looked really nice. What bothered me is that they ran out of seats in the 100 section where we wanted to sit as a group and so we ended up sitting in the 233 section with some other organizations. It was a cool experience and nice to be in community at the Padre game. It was also cool because the Padres actually won and came back from previously losing to the Colorado Rockies. I will say that I appreciate the restroom attendance here. They really do keep the restrooms, clean, tidy and smelling decent. They are also very well stocked with paper towels, soap and working water faucets. The trash cans are never over flowing either. There are so many concessions here that I can't cover them all. I was very impressed that the Pop Pie Company has a presence here. I really appreciate also that they have the Gaglione Brothers, Stone Brewing, Hodads, the donut place, and several others. My favorite thing to get at the Padre games is the Mr. Softee soft serve. Sadly, I didn't get an opportunity to do that on this visit but I'll definitely do it on the next. Gallagher Square and Park at the Park is so well planned and organized and it makes me feel so good to see so many people enjoying this space. Thanks for putting African-American Heritage night back on the schedule for theme nights.
I've been here for concerts and baseball games many times. It's an absolutely massive venue. This past event was a country music concert. I would say security wasn't super crazy I was a little surprised. I had a clear purse so they paid no attention to it whatsoever but did walk through a metal detector. It is fairly quick to get inside. There's a lot of food and beverage options but be aware this is event priced items. I bought two beers for myself and a friend and it cost almost $50 with tip. This wouldn't stop me from coming back here, I've been many times before and I'm sure I'll be back many times after this. Definitely if you have mobility issues be aware of what you're in for which is stairs on stairs. There are very long ramps between the first second and third floors, but to get to any of the seats you do have to take stairs.
Petco park is the best ballpark in the universe. I have been to many games and other events at Petco. Don't forget to explore when you visit. There's lots to see and lots of food and hidden gems.
Came to enjoy Mexican Heritage weekend and last Friday Party in the Park of the regular Season. Unfortunately the evening was a downer with the Loss but For the Faithful we will win today and tomorrow and all the way to the end. Love the Conexion Catrina pop up. Also we secured the saught after Catrina cup.
One of the more enjoyable stadiums. Conveniently located in the city center that gives you the option of using public transportation instead of driving. A huge plus. We parked at a mall and took the trolley over. My family of 8 attended the Filipino Heritage Night with my brother's church group. We took over one corner. There had to be at least 50 of us total. There happened to be swag which for this game was a pretty sick jacket. I will say what I appreciate about this stadium is that they have great food options. Same for drinks. It was actually a little overwhelming having to pick. I ended up going for a long walk checking all the options before deciding on Hodads. Getting out is a breeze. There's a ton of staff when you're exiting I'm assuming to make sure all goes well. Everyone I encountered was super nice.
Another great night with the hubby at Petco Park. Especially great because we found the elusive catrina cups!!
My family and I visited Petco Park to watch the Dodgers vs Padres game. Wow! This is a very friendly, well-maintained stadium. Despite our Dodger regalia, Staff consistently smiled and eagerly helped. I was taken aback by Staff's professionalism, charm, and work ethic. Staff friendliness was comparable to Disneyland. I did notice some small arguments between inebriated fans, but I'd quickly saw security appear to settle any issues. I felt safe at Petco Park. Also, it was a little hilarious how 70% attendees appeared to be wearing the white and blue. Food is decent. Unlike Crypto Arena's lazy build-your-own nachos, there's effort and flavor with Petco Park's nachos. Also, I appreciated how the Souvenir Cups had unlimited refills on day of purchase. Petco Park also had a really chill family atmosphere vibe. The decor reminded me of Knotts Berry Farm with all the brown and wooden beams. My family and I didn't even have to pay for parking since we just downloaded the PRONTO app to use the San Diego Trolley fare system; we just rode a trolley over. We'd found a nearby hotel that was literally a one minute walk from a trolley stop. Overall, my family and I had a great time at Petco Park. Although we'd unfortunately visited on a day the Dodgers had lost, the memory was still fun. It's also kinda hilarious how Petco Park dedicated so much time making a "Beat LA" chant which is kinda hilarious. Dodgers are living rent free in San Diego for sure. All in all, I happily recommend especially when the Dodgers come to town.
I love coming here for padres games! Food is always good. The tri tip nachos aka Cardiff crack is delicious. I recently tried the burracho fries from the bbq place and they were really filling and I was impressed. A few months ago I had a churro sundae which was massive and could serve 2-3 people. Great drinks. Can't go wrong with any food here! A little overpriced but expected.
I had an amazing night at the Pierce the Veil homecoming show. The sound never cutoff. It happened twice at viejas so I was so relieved it didn't happen here. Thank you!
Petco Park is beautiful! It's always a good time going to see the Padres play. Sometimes you even get really lucky with a killer sunset. I've been to a couple other events there and I've always thought they were well put on. The concessions are pretty good, there's a big variety of food and I love all the local craft breweries. It is crazy expensive to eat and drink there. The last time I went, I got a hot pretzel and I went into this little area where they pre-authorize my card and then I just picked up whatever food and drinks I wanted and the camera charged me the appropriate amount when I left. That was kind of cool.
My husband's company rented out the home run deck, and as always it was an amazing time. Views are amazing of the park. There was easy access for us with a stroller. My brother-in-law even caught a home run ball.
I absolutely love Petco Park, especially for baseball games. It's consistently considered one of the best ballparks in the USA. It has so many San Diego local eateries in the park that are fabulous such as Hodads, Cardiff Market, grand Ole'BBQ, and so many more. We loved the Pacifico grill. They served up grilled NY streak and lobster sandwiches on a buttered roll. The park views are amazing and Petco's location in the gas lamp gives attendees many options for pregame or post game fun. It's a blast here since most home games are sold out. I love this place ! read more

Updated review! This is after my experience at a sold-out concert here at Petco Park. I scored (nosebleed) seats to the Pierce the Veil concert. I was in Section 306, Seat 20 (next to the stairs). While I was in a far section, I still had a pretty good straight on view of the stage. The screens were large and high quality. They mostly used the screens behind the stage, and less of the side screens. It was still too far to see the band on stage, but the screens were still good. I was thinking someone could bring binoculars if they really wanted to see the stage from this section, lol! But I still enjoyed this high-level view, being able to see all the screens and laser effects and such. They even had fireworks at the end, which I've never seen at this venue but it was awesome! Audio was great, but also loud, so maybe recommend getting ear protection even for the far sections. Overall, I think most seats in Petco Park have a great view. For concerts, I do wish they had more merch booths and I wish there was a map of the locations. I waited an hour for merch, and was cutting it close to the concert start time. You really have to go early to have enough time for merch, drinks/food, and getting to your seats. We got to the stadium around 7pm, merch line 7:25-8:20 (multi-tasked going to restroom & buying drinks while partner waited in line), got to seats 8:30ish, set started at 8:45. Getting out was also difficult and crowded. I saw some people leave early to avoid the rush. I was stuck in peak rush. The first trolley out was packed like sardines. Just a warning! read more
I've been here a few times now and have had a great time each time! Definitely one of the best ballparks in the MLB, the vibes are high and the fans are great. Love how open the concourse is and going up the ramps to the upper deck gives you a great view of downtown and the ocean. Ballpark is clean, well maintained and has an amazing view of the downtown San Diego skyline! read more

First time at Petco Park, and I can see why people like it. We parked around 15 minutes walk away to avoid the post concert traffic . The entrance line looked intimidating at first, but it was well organized and moved surprisingly fast. Food and drinks lines were on the longer sides, but with so many vendors and options, so it didn't feel so painful. Great atmosphere all around, I would definitely come back, may be next time for a baseball game! read more
Who doesn't love Petco Park? Maybe Dodgers fans? I think they like it too. Petco Park is my favorite baseball park in America. Great views, a chill vibe, awesome entertainment, and lots of local food options. Sign me up! I will say that the prices are on the highest end of the chart; if you can leave there without spending $100, you should play the lotto because you're lucky. Parking is difficult and expensive near the stadium, but the good news is that the trolley stops nearby. You can leave your car at an MTS Park and Ride stop and take the train to the game. read more
This was my first time watching a MLB baseball game at a stadium other than the SF Giants. Unlike the SF Giants ballpark, which has changed names four times, Petco Park has always had one name. Recently, I was staying across the street and saw there was a game that same day. Luckily, there were still tickets available for a Saturday night game when we checked at the box office. The ball park was fun to check out. There is an area in the back where you can sit and watch the game on a big screen tv (not my desired place to be in the park). In the back, there is also an area where you can sit or stand and watch from the view from behind outfield. We sat at the club level behind home plate and it was the best view. There's lots of good food options in the ballpark including birria nachos and Japanese curry. Their Friar Frank dog was about $9, which was reasonable compared to SF hot dog prices. We only had some small snacks - churro and frozen lemonade, which were just okay. It was a fun experience to check out Petco Park for the first time, except for the fact that the Padres didn't even score one run the entire game against the White Sox. read more

Came here for the soul purpose of the hello kitty jersey! Came a little early to beat the long line and to get the size we want! I think we were in line for less than an hour. The line went smoothly and the jersey is so stinkin cute! Love it! I put mine on while we walked back to the car and everyone in line needed to know the size. I stopped listening and just said the size was large, lol. I hope everyone was able to get theirs. I hear they sell out. read more
Petco Park is one of the MLB baseball stadiums and is also the home of the San Diego Padres. The ballpark was named America's No. 1 Ballpark by USA Today. The park opened in April 2004 and has hosted many concerts from the first ballpark concert by The Rolling Stones to recent concerts by Green Day and Blink-182. Our party came here for the daily guided tour. [Parking]: Free street parking was available on Sunday and I parked near the intersection of Eighth Ave and Island Ave. There is also a parking structure across from the Western Metal Building Box Office (the 6th & K Parkade) with $1 per hour rate ($15 daily maximum until 6 PM). [Check-in]: Visitors are expected to check in at the Western Metal Building Box Office near the intersection of K St & Tony Gwynn Dr. Tour start times range from 10 AM to 2 PM, so check the website for details. [Ticket]: $41.50 per person plus $1 per ticket fee. [Experience]: The tour was expected to last 80 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 90 minutes. During the tour, our party was able to see the Private Luxury Suite, Cutwater Coronado Club, Padres Hall of Fame (Tony Gwynn aka "Mr. Padre," Trevor Hoffman, Dave Winfield, etc.), Breitbard Hall of Fame, Blue Shield Home Plate Club, Press Box, Field Warning Track (including sitting in the dugout with photo opportunities), and the Visitors Clubhouse. The tour guide was fairly knowledgeable. One interesting fact I learned was that there is no left-field foul pole & the corner of the Western Metal Building serves as the left-field foul pole. In addition, visitors get 10% off at the Padres Team Store and Bub's at the Ballpark with their tour tickets (valid only on the day of the tour). Unfortunately, the Team Store was closed during the day of our visit. [Conclusion]: While Petco Park doesn't have the rich history as Dodger Stadium or Wrigley Field, it is still a fine ballpark in its own right with beautiful waterfront views. read more
I had the chance to visit Petco Park for the first time to see Ed Sheeran, and I came away just as impressed with the venue as I was with the concert. One of the coolest things about the stadium is its location right in the heart of downtown San Diego. It's incredibly walkable, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and things to do before or after an event. The stadium itself is beautiful and exceptionally well maintained, making it a comfortable place to spend the evening. Even if you're not there for a baseball game, Petco Park is an outstanding venue and a great place to experience a concert. read more
What an incredible stadium to come to for a Padres game! There are SO many food and drink options. You also have an insane view of downtown San Diego surrounding the stadium. If you live in San Diego, you have to go to a Padres game. The energy is so fun and there is so much to see walking around. The tri-tip nachos are SO good! An's Athletic Field Services is a chance to get An's without a really long line like at their other locations. I got the matcha flavor and it was divine. There is a lot of Padres merch to browse and choose from too. It's great to spend a beautiful day outside and watch the Padres. Highly recommend those visiting or living in San Diego to come support the Padres! :) Go Padres! read more
This was my first time seeing a Padres game at this stadium. I forgot how fun it was to watch a live game. Loved all the excitement from the crowd and did my share of screaming and cheering. I arrived early, so I had lots of time to check out the Hello Kitty merch at the Padres Team Store. Got a tote bag and plushie to add to my growing collection! I was impressed with the flow of security and ticket check. I had anticipated a never ending line that crawled slowly, but that wasn't the case at all. Even the food vendors were very quick and efficient. I look forward to attending more games in the future! read more

Best ballpark in America! Best food. Drinks. Sight lines. Been here many times but on this particular night we had great seats in Section 206, Row 1. Perfect view of every pitch and every play. Got a Birds Eye view of Stammen getting thrown out of the game! We are blessed to call this our home ballpark. read more

I'm a little late on my review but oh well lol. I saw My Chemical Romance here in August, it was a great show. This was my second time seeing them (saw them in LA last year). The only confusing part was finding the entrance/where we were supposed to line up at. The only downside is that I caught covid, as I started getting symptoms a few days after the show. read more

Beautiful stadium perfect place for a summer concert under the stars. There is not a bad seat in the place. Easy walk ability with a lot of drink options that are non alcoholic. Getting a ride share after the concert is a bit tricky and darn near impossible. We had to walk a mile and a half before we could get a ride back to our hotel. They do have a parking garage if you drive but event parking was $$ crazy prices! read more

I mean, what's not to love about Petco Park? There's ample food options for fans, from healthy to not so healthy, and I love that they also have gluten-free options now too! The Padres scheme here are always a blast. This is also a concert venue and the actual stadium itself and also Gallagher Square. The staff at Petco Park is some of the best ever. The stadium itself is very well kept. Best ballpark in the USA. read more

I've been to many stadiums and I have to say this is my least favorite. Obviously every stadium will be crowded but this one just feels like a chaotic mess. I feel like the space isn't open enough for the size of the crowds so you will constantly have someone right next to you. I do think it's better to go to a night event because the day ones are very hot and the sun is beating right down on you. I think the security people were nicer than the people working the food services. The food was ok and not worth it. I also think the stadium being right in downtown makes it so much more chaotic as to getting in or leaving. Overall not too bad but I would rather not go here again. read more
Always a great time. Especially when it's free99! Luckily it was the Padres's first win of the season. Such a fun vibe. Fireworks after the game was amazing. Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd. Definitely worth the visit even with the crazy pricing for parking. Priceless. read more

It's been yeeeeeaaaars since I've been to Petco Park to watch a Padres game! Getting here and back home was super convenient thanks to the trolley station being so close. It made the whole experience easy, fast, and inexpensive without having to worry about parking or traffic. The process of getting into the ballpark was smooth, and I really appreciate that we can bring in food and water. On top of that, the food options inside are awesome! Places like Hodad's and Coco Ichibanya really elevate the experience while watching a game. Petco Park is such a beautiful ballpark and I'll definitely be back again soon! read more

Petco Park is the downtown home of the San Diego Padres, known for its unique design that incorporates the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building, breathtaking views of the San Diego skyline and bay, and a vibrant craft beer and food scene (check out craft row). Fun fact: I helped build this beautiful park (back in 2002-03). Not to be biased, but we truly have the finest park in the finest city in America! Love the unique design, amenities, food vendors and public areas like "Park at the Park" and Gallagher Square- they also have an open playground for kids, with a dog park, and viewing areas to watch the game! There isn't a bad seat at Petco due to its thoughtful design! The stadium offers excellent sightlines. My wife and I prefer any seating areas near the first baseline! That's our usual spot! If you're visiting San Diego, definitely catch a game and enjoy the finest team in the finest city in America! Let's go Padres! read more
San Diego has every right to be proud of this stadium. Definitely top-tier among MLB parks. Background Attended a Saturday evening game in early May. Great weather (because, San Diego), partly cloudy skies, temperature in the mid-60's. We had lower-tier seats on third-base line, just a handful of rows up from the dugout, Chicago White Sox were in town. Sadly, the Pale Sox pasted the Pad's 4-0. Stadium Petco truly checks all of the boxes of a great ballpark. Downtown location - sure thing, the nearby Gaslamp District has numerous restaurants, bars and hotels to complement your visit. Easy access - yes, including ample garage parking and nearby train service Open air - of course Excellent viewing lines throughout the stadium - yes Seating close to the action - you bet Avid fanbase - 42,000 attend virtually every game, so, yep Outfield view - great, and I mean GREAT, view of the city skyline Stadium lighting / sound - unfortunately, our game was pretty much a snooze fest so difficult to judge. I've seen videos of the crowd and stadium sound system roaring, and also of a great home run firework celebration. Sadly, we didn't get to experience any of this. Anything iconic? - well, there's the Western Metal Supply Building which literally serves as the left-field foul pole. So, yeah! It's difficult to find anything I'd improve. Cushioned seats would be nice, we've had those in a couple parks. Maybe....bring back The Chicken? The Friar doesn't exactly excite me. So, is this THE best MLB park? Well....there's some tough competition for the #1 spot. Personal taste and sentiment inevitably come to play on this. For now, I'll simply keep to my comment, Petco is definitely among the very best parks to watch a ballgame. Food The foot-long franks were fine, not the best but certainly far from the worst. Overall, there's an abundance of food options. Japanese curry anyone? Kombucha? Pop pies (a local favorite, close cousin of a pot pie)? Anything Unusual The game started at 5:40 pm which is unusual for me. I enjoyed the earlier start, gave us extra time to enjoy a couple drinks at a local bar after the game. Are there any chairs in the Gallagher Square General Admission area or is it standing only? I'm old and don't want to stand for an entire concert!
There aren't chairs but in the back of the grass area there are long concrete benches. First come first serve basis
I accidentally purchase a wheel chair disability ticket for a concert, will they still let me in?

For concerts in Gallagher Square (not the baseball diamond), does anyone know if there is disability seating available? I can't find on their website.
It's hit or miss depending on how popular the concert is as space is limited.
How strict is their bag policy. It says single pocket 7"x10" bag is allowed. Will they reject a small fanny pack with two zippers?
Fanny Packs are on the approved list.
Concert at Gallagher square details? Is there a lot of room for dancing?

A charge for drinks at Petco took 3 weeks to post on my Debit card. I thought it was fraudulent. Anyone else have this issue of an extremely delayed charge posting on your card?
Never. Usually 24 to 48 hours to post. Might depend on the vendor?
Is Park at the Park accessible from the Upper Pavillion?
Yes. Park at the Park is accessible from anywhere in the ballyard. Walk around! Explore the entire park. It's awesome.

Best place to find parking around the Petco Park?
We park in the Padres Parkade which is just a short walk to the ballpark. We have season tickets so we get a discounted rate to park here. You can park anywhere downtown and take FRED (The Free Ride) for free to the ballpark and back to your car for…
