We come here every time we come down to the city, it's such a great deal! You get unlimited play for $25. 3 floors of games, with the top floor all being music ones. It's like round 1 but 10 times better. Also, they have a full bar so you can keep a vibe the whole time too.

This place is awesome, it is such a vibe! The entry fee is $25 or $35 if you want a stamp for re-entry. Once you are inside, all the games are free play, and they have curated such a large collections of games. There is something for everyone here. The only downside was my feet started to hurt from standing in front of games for so long. This place also allows children. I assumed because this place served alcohol it would restrict the age but I attended on a Friday night, around 9 pm and there were still children around. I also loved how they decorated the place, all the neon and wall art. They really put a lot of effort and care into the art. They also had a bar for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, as well as a food menu. Very fun place, definitely worth a visit!

Arcade Monsters!! There are over 200 games & many can only be found in Japan. I had so much fun playing my vintage favorite games like street fighter and halo and I got to play some new to me games as well. $25 for all you can play arcade games! Super fun and interactive place. It can be very loud in here so just be prepared for a lot of audio & visual stimulation! There's also a few basketball and skeeball games that were super fun and addictive as well. So if you love arcade games, this is definitely a great spot for you to enjoy in downtown SD. They have food and drinks as well. We didn't try the food, but the mojito was tasty & I also had a white claw. Parking is a little tough in this area. Using a ride service or taking the trolley might be a good idea. Peace.

First time. Greet unlimited arcade spot for $25. Don't recommend for children under 5. Not much for them to do. Great family spot.

Huge place. The decor is awesome.

This is a fun place. It's not cheap but it's a lot of fun and there are enough games here to keep you occupied for three or four hours, easily. There are two levels and plenty to explore on each level. There are nooks and crannies here and there with games you might miss if you don't turn this or that corner. At this time, it's $25 per person (before taxes) and you get unlimited games. There are plenty of video games and pinball machines, too. There is air hockey and skee-ball and many other types of games. Most of them were in working condition but a few were not. The games should obviously be in working condition before the place opens but hey, quality control isn't always what it should be. They offer snacky foods and booze, of course, but I didn't try anything. The decor is very cool. It is kind of psychedelic and fun. This is right by the ballpark and parking is tough to find. We parked a few blocks away on the street (metered parking). There really are very few places in San Diego to play video games and pinball so it's nice to have a place like this available. We spent about 3 plus hours here and the time just flew by. If we didn't have other plans, we would have stayed longer. Unfortunately, there are no in-and-out privileges, so keep that in mind.

Awesome concept in gaslamp right near petco park! This place has soo many games with a really cool retro set-up-- several different rooms, layouts, and a variety of old-school games. There's several games I've never seen before, always something different. $25 to get in and free play is a great idea. Their drinks were good and they have some classic American bar style food that is good too. Totally will return!

I am a huge fan of arcades, but something that I hate is spending money or credits every time that you want to play a game, that's why Monsters became a huge favorite of mine! You pay a flat rate of $25 and can play as long as you desire! The place is so vibey! They have huge murals and black lights which makes the place super fun!!! They have a huge lineup of games you can play, from the classics to a huge selection of modern games I've never even heard of! I wish they had more of the classic American ones like Dave and busters but this is just me being picky. All of the machines work pretty well, and they're not jammed or broken like most of the arcades in San Diego lol. They also have some food and drinks, I did not get to try them this time but I am very excited to go back and try everything!

What a fun place to ring in the New Year! $25/person for unlimited play at the 2 floor arcade space. We got there around 8:30pm and yea, we played 3 hours straight and finished around 11:30 and then rang in the new year at stroke of midnight. I played my favorite game, DDR. Check my video. lol!

Arcade Monsters: 9/10 Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 Super cool - chic video game bar with a trippy blacklight fun aesthetic and an insane amount of games. We got there late so they weren't serving drinks/food anymore, but for $25 and unlimited play it was pretty worth it! Service: 8/10 Only service was the front desk to buy the play, who was nice; otherwise was just games :). They did say during earlier hours there are servers. Games: 10/10 - The selection of games was awesome from random games I've never seen around the country, to games I remember playing when I was a kid. Fun night out especially for $25 unlimited play!

Such a fun arcade! Definitely worth the $25 for free play for the entire night. Also their BeatBoxes are $8 each which is a steal.

Ask the Community - Arcade Monsters

    Are they dog friendly?

No. It is all indoors and very tight quarters. It is also very loud which could hurt a dog's sensitive ears.

Is there a DanceRush Stardom machine here?

Yes, there are two of them

    Are kids allowed?

What time is the cut off for kids not allowed?

    What are the hours?

    Daily: 10am - 2am

How's the line on Thursday nights?

Fridays and Saturdays are obviously the worst. On weeknights though, I’ve at times been able to park directly in front of the door and just walk in. Thursdays will most likely be a middle ground between the two.

Where can you park? Is it hard to find parking?

Limited street parking, pay parking lots, parking structures, and hotel valet service are around downtown San Diego's Gaslamp District and East Village areas.

What is the price structure to play the games?

    Free play with admission.

We brought it up to the lady behind the counter and she said she would get the IT guy. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to finally come around and he goes "It always does that" We expected a refund or something, but nothing. For $5 a picture, what a rip off. If it doesn't work "All the time" how about fixing it and putting an "Out of order" sign on it, so you don't waste $5 on a picture you can't use? Terrible customer service.

I used the card on one of the games but the game was not responding. I tried again and still no response. I decide to go to the counter to see if someone could either take a look at the game or if i could get the credits back. I get to the counter and see 3 or 4 workers just standing there talking, no one acknowledges me. I look around some more and see one worker on the far left helping some customers and another worker on the far right helping some other people. Ok, I'm assuming there's two lines and the 3 or 4 other employees are just taking a break or something. Not a big deal, so i get in the line to the far right. There is one person currently being helped, two teens and then me. The employee finishes with the first customer and then helps the two teens. He finishes with them and when he gets to me he just turns and walks away. He does not say a word, just turns and walks away. A simple "I'll be back in a minute" or even just putting your hand up and saying "gimme a sec" would be totally fine. Instead, no communication, just walks away. I told the group of 3 or 4 people just standing there that I needed assistance and one of them went to refill my card. As i was waiting the guy who was serving the line on the far left came over and asked if I needed help. He was really friendly (he looked Asian or Mexican). Anyways, he's the only reason I'm giving that place two stars instead of one.

They have classic arcade games here like Frogger Pong, Super Mario and pinball. There are a few newer games like a version of beer pong, Halo, Mario Kart and 4-person Pacman. We played every game within an hour and felt a bit bored after that. I'd love to see a Dance Dance Revolution game here! The plethora of beers, hard seltzers and ciders on tap looked like an expansive collection. There was something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate espresso martini on tap. I didn't drink but those in my party enjoyed every sip and got a good buzz goin. I love that you can pay for your drink by the ounce and you don't really have to commit to a whole drink if you don't want to. Perfect to taste test everything if that's what you desire. It was a little smaller than I expected, but it's still easy to spend an hour or two here with friends. They also serve food, which I'll have to come back and try another time. Instead of ordering drinks at the bar, you start a tab by leaving your credit card with the cashier. They give you a tap card that lets you pour your own drinks. You can sample just a little or fill up a whole glass. It's completely up to you. They have everything from beer and wine to a few craft cocktails on tap. If you want to try something different, you can swap out your glass and keep exploring. The same tap card also activates all of the arcade games, which I thought was a really cool touch. It makes everything feel connected instead of having to carry around a bunch of tokens or cash. When I visited, they were hosting trivia night. It definitely brought in a crowd. Most of the tables were full, so walking around got a little tight because the space isn't very big. Even so, the atmosphere was lively. It felt like everyone was having a good time. I ended up trying the Cranberry Mule, which I really enjoyed. It was nice being able to pour just the amount I wanted instead of committing to a full drink. Overall, I had a really fun time here. It's a unique spot that gives you something a little different from your typical bar. Once you're ready to leave, you just close out your tab and head home. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends.

The lines were short, so we got to try many things many times over. There are a few attractions where they only let 2-4 people in at a time, which is a drag, especially because it was so dang hot outside. They offer the average amusement park food, but the portions were a good size for the money and the food was tasty. We visited around noon on a Tuesday and parking was easy. We visited on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't very busy. One thing to be aware of is that bowling is on a strict timer. By the time we paid, put on our bowling shoes, and selected our bowling balls, our 60-minute session had already been reduced. It would have been nice if the timer started once we actually began bowling. We considered extending our time, but the concession stand was completely out of food, which was surprising given that it was a Friday afternoon and the facility wasn't crowded. Overall, the experience didn't meet our expectations. While the facility has a lot to offer, the issues with the bowling timer, lack of food availability, and spoiled wine left us disappointed. We'll probably choose a different bowling alley the next time we're looking for a place to bowl.
