MEMBERS ONLY RACE TRACK CLUB As I walk in, the server welcomes us and seats us immediately. I guess now Fridays, they serve dinner exclusively for the members. We ordered drinks first. Then we order the entree which consist of venison and tenderloin with bone marrow. Yumm!! I love bone marrow! The service is 5 stars The food is 5 stars The chef is a Michelin chef The ambiance is great and the singer added a great touch, very classy! I'll always be back! Side Note: You can also drive M3 BMW for track days too. http://thethermalclub.com/

Have been fortunate enough to attend a few "track days" hosted here by O'Gara Coach. Coming here after Willow Springs, I was really impressed by the facilities at this location and I think I'm a convert for life (: The track is in near pristine condition. They built it in 3 separate phases so the later two parts of the track, although now all connected, are newer. They've always been slowly selling off home parcels immediately surrounding the perimeter of the track for the real enthusiast who wants a glorified car storage with a track view at his Desert abode. Don't get me wrong the homes were quite large & the brochures I saw looked lovely; last I was there, construction was well under way & I think the majority were sold out. Back to the track, the instructors are A+. Such a tremendous group of super cool, mellow, easy to be with dudes who know how to drive & more importantly, know how to teach you to cruise the track safely. The slip track is a trip & they walk you through it and teach you how to adjust to drifting, which happens at high speeds on the track. They teach you how to navigate the turns, readjust your muscle memory to the much more rigorous type of driving necessary to maneuver the high power vehicles you'll take on the track. It's far more physical than normal driving. Completely different experience! And they have a great go cart area they take you on first to adjust to the higher speeds on the curves, then upgrade you to a Course that's not quite the track but usually has either Porsche's or BMWs available before graduating to the exotics. The facilities are well maintained for being in the Desert; they're surprisingly clean too considering the dust. I've always been given a clean helmet to use, no ick factor. I love the lift they have trackside to see from high up. The mountainous backdrop is majestic and dramatic. It sets a stunning scene. The dining area I've eaten lunch at on a few occasions. It's like an oasis out there with a Spanish style motif. The spread was always top notch & displayed like a high end hotel chain buffet. We always preferred sitting outside but there's air conditioned areas if that's your preferemce Again though what makes this place are the people who run it. It's a great crew. My husband & I just have a blast every time we visit this track.

We came here for one of the BMW track days. It was such a fun experience driving the cars around on all the different courses. The staff is very professional and the instructors are all so fun and so patient. I look forward to future BMW events here! During our event we also got a free meal and a goodie bag at the end!

I'd recommend it for anyone south of an intermediate level track driver. For these folks, more advanced courses are available, and I have full faith they'd be excellent as well. Itinerary: -1h classroom safety/racing fundamentals (lots of good info for the road, too) -Emergency mid-corner braking from highway speeds--M4 xdrive -Last-minute lane change, followed by emergency braking, from highway speeds--M2 -Skidpad (controlled initiation and recovery of oversteer/drifting)--M5 sedan -Lead/follow track laps at The Thermal Club raceway (real race track, adjacent to BMW's lower-speed "training oriented" facility) -Lunch (really a highlight. 2 salads, chicken breast, homemade meatballs. Better than many restaurant meals I had in the area.) -Timed autocross laps on BMW's own smaller track (little competition among the participants)--M2 -More lead/follow laps at The Thermal Club--M4 xdrive After experiencing the wear and tear these cars are put through in such a short time, I think the cost of admission is quite subsidized as well. Would definitely go back for further classes.

The…read moreinstructors were top notch but in the end it still felt more like an interactive BMW advertisement than a learning experience. You bounce around between models and events with barely enough time to really learn much. The competitive nature makes it difficult to stay focused on skills resulting in sloppiness. There's enough students that a lot of mistakes go uncorrected. Fortunately, I went into it with the goal of driving fast in a safe environment and someone else's car and maybe get a few general pointers. In that regards, it was a resounding success. I did feel like there was ample time for at least another 5 minutes on the drift track Some things that I wish their FAQ was clearer about: - There is a cafeteria and there is a very good lunch provided - If you're prone to motion sickness, be prepared. I brought along ginger chews and ended up giving out quite a few to others who were intending to drop out early otherwise. - Theres lots of breaks for water and restroom and you'll need them - Theres lots of good hotel prices in Indio and the drive is short I would consider doing some personalized instructions but otherwise, my conclusion is that racing career isn't in my future. Still, props to the staff.

Parking was a little confusing since you had to make your own spot as it got super crowded at one point but thankfully it wasn't an issue since we left plenty of time. If you're coming here to run a race or ride bikes, plan for it to be windy and full of dust. I'm glad we had face coverings! My only complaint for Spartan is they didn't have more places for shade because it got pretty toasty at 80 degrees. Otherwise, it was a great location and a great set up for a race! We're hooked and already planning our next race for the trifecta this year

I didn't do said race, opting instead to use my voucher for the 21k in Big Bear. However, I figured I should experience it myself someday... well that day turned into a two-year time-skip. A dusty landscape with lots of mini spiky plant balls and weather teetering between 90 and 100 deg F, it's not the most scenic of places, but as an obstacle course there's some beauty to its emptiness. The dryness of the surrounding mountains made up the first portion of the race for both the 5k and 10k races (no 21k). Dust kicked up relatively easily from the runners, but overall, the course was clean. The route then weaved through the racetracks, passing pipe tunnels, and into certain rocky areas of a dried-up riverbed before coming back to the racetracks. When I volunteered to do the pre-run on Sunday, I got a good sense of how tranquil riding a motorbike around here might feel during the early mornings or early evenings. During Spartan days, cars drive early morning into Magee Rd instead of the main entrance to funnel between staff, volunteers, and the general crowd. The drive is kinda bumpy, and without signs it was difficult to find your way out. With that said, it was a fun weekend not too far from LA.

Del Mar Racetrack is a must when visiting San Diego and is such a fun experience. My friends and I usually take the Amtrak train from Orange County to Del Mar station, they have shuttles to take you from the train to the venue for free which is nice. Dress to impress as well, they have a dress code but not too many people follow it. Some people go all out with suits, dresses and fancy dress wear. Tickets are affordable and they have a variety of ticket packages to choose from, we usually sit in GA area. As for the venue itself, its beautiful from the outside and the track is well maintained. If you look from the balcony, you can see the ocean! It's pretty confusing in my opinion to navigate each floor and where to find food concessions. They need to upgrade the building and rennovate the interior. The food here isn't too good but Tanner's Prime Burgers is a must. Betting is also confusing so I would recommend looking up a Youtube vid or ask some people around the stadium on how to do it. When in doubt, hammer Fresu, Rispoli, Berrios or Hernandez!

This review is specifically for the Monster Truck War event. Tickets were so much cheaper than the Monster Jam, so it was very appealing to take my son. I purchased the $40 VIP ticket. A complete waste of money. There was nothing VIP about our experience. There was no reserved seating. The ticket was supposed to get you into the Pit Party a little early and early to grab your seats. The problem was there was no one checking tickets, so everyone arriving at the same time was going into the pit party and saving their seats in the front rows. I could have had my same seats and go to the pit party with a regular $15 ticket and no one would have known the difference. They were doing rides on Monster Trucks. We were standing in line and the announcer kept promoting the rides on the loud speakers for $15 a person. When we got our chance to ride, we were told it was $20 and that the announcer was wrong. The announcer literally said $15 again while I was questioning it, at I was told it's $20 no expections. If you have a wheel chair or a stroller, good luck. Everything is dirt and broken asphalt in all of the seating and walking areas. If you are in the seats closet to the track, it's the worst. Very hard to walk without falling. The Monster Truck show it's self was ok, except for the cloud of dust that covered the seats when they did donuts. Be sure to cover your face. Overall, it was just not enjoyable. I would rather spend the extra money to watch the Monster Trucks at Snap Dragon next time they are here.
