Our bathrooms have concrete vanities created by Buddy Rhodes in the 1990s. The prior owners didn't maintain them well and they became pitted and some of the colorant was lost, they were hard to clean and were getting worse. Adam from Fox came out and refinished and restored them. Now they look great and they're easier to maintain. He artistically matched the color patterns of the missing material. We had some beautiful italian balsatina countertops that had sharp edges when installed and were badly chipped. We also had a concrete fireplace hearth that was stained. From the moment I contacted Fox Marble I was impressed with how professional and "on it" everyone on the team was. The estimator was so positive and encouraging, Geraldo fixed all the dings and stains on our counter- tops - they look brand new, Carlos cleaned and sealed our vanity and shower bench beautifully and Antony did an amazing job on our concrete fireplace - putting SEVEN coats of sealer on the hearth and returning twice to make sure the job was well done. I had Fox Marble refinish my Quartzite countertops. They are only 5 years old and I was shocked to discover the original installers used a water based sealer. The countertops were dull ,rough, and spotty with water marks. Fox Marble is one of the only Bay Area companies that offer refinishing services. They have a patented blue light sealing process that is similar to gel nails and is impervious to etching. I was impressed with the technique. They also offered an oil based sealer for a fraction of the cost. I opted for that. My countertops were refinished using about 12 different sanding pads, many polishing techniques, and absolute craftsmanship. Edwardo, their master craftsman is incredible. He is prompt, polite, honest, and a real artist. They are so lucky to have him. He worked on my countertops for two days and they look better than they did when they were first installed. All together my countertop refinishing cost a little over $1,000. I am thrilled. I definitely recommend this company and if you can afford that fancy sealing process - do it. Worth every penny. Despite doing one's consumer homework, sometimes the experience is nowhere near what others claimed it to be. Not so with Fox marble. We discovered substantial cracks in two marble pedestals over 30 years old. Dan Lopez answered the call and came over within the week. The proposal followed by nightfall. Natalie as the interface was responsive and complete. Arturo arrived on time and diligently worked virtually all day doing the restoration in an outside area he set up as his workshop. The result was beyond my expectation. A very heavy glass tabletop sits on the pedestals and Arturo had two other employees come over to set the top even though they were not the one's who dismantled it. This is an example of a company that has customer service as a priority and makes no excuses. read more

I paid around $3k for Fox to come out to clean, seal, and repair a few chips in my exterior travertine. They didn't do a great job on the sealing so even the company said they would redo it. They repaired three chips in the travertine. The new material they placed to repair one of the chips popped out. Even though it was 8 days past warranty, they fixed it. Then, it popped out for a second time. So, I reached out figuring maybe it would cost $200 tops to fix the chip again (for the third time), but they proposed $450 to repair a chip they didn't repair properly two times. So, yeah, not good. read more

Our countertops and backsplash have white spots everywhere (some pictures attached) it looks like someone used a paint brush. I can't stand the way it looks and no one from Fox Marble have bothered to come over and check it out. Even the owner Charley sent us an email stating that he was told that the quartz was fine and threatened us to put a lien on our house if we don't pay the balance. Is this how this company conduct business by threatening customers? What is the reason to go to the showroom to pick the desired slab option and get a slab that does not represent what we picked? What is the point to sign and approved the actual layout option (that represents the actual image of our countertop and backsplash) that was sent to us via email by Mr. Gamble prior installation for our review and approval with NO white spots/marks? We have taken photos of 7 Cambria slabs as well as photos from the the actual layout and there are no white marks. We are very disappointed and dissatisfied with their engineered quartz and especially with their lack of empathy and poor customer service. Since we were reasonable and tried to resolve this matter multiple times with Fox Marble and Cambria headquarters, we are getting legal council to fight back and we will submit a complaint to the CCC DAs Office Consumer Protection (Civil) Unit for deceptive advertising as well as contacting the BBB. Do yourselves a huge favor and avoid this nightmare, DO NOT do any business with this company they lie so well in the beginning to get your money and once they get the 50% deposit, they don't care wether you are dissatisfied or disappointed. read more

She knew exactly where to select heavy veining and where to go light. Janice was so thoughtful and had charcuterie boards cut for us from the remnants of our slabs, such an elegant and ultra designer touch! I dropped a huge, very heavy planter on the edge of the counter inside the sink, and shattered the edge into countless pieces. We thought there was no way it could be fixed. But Gerardo from Fox Marble is a miracle worker. The repair is barely visible and he was able to match the color of our counter. We had Fox Marble install our kitchen countertop and backsplash Viatera quartz about a year ago. We had a number of problems with them. We decided to use their services because they said they could get it measured and installed within a certain period of time, which was faster than the other company we looked at, by about 6 weeks. We paid $2500 more for Fox Marble because of this one thing they said they could do. This turned into a complete fabrication. They measured for the installation as promised, but then weeks went by and they couldn't give us an installation date. They started giving us an explanation after maybe a month. Then it turned out they had to order it from the East Coast, and then they had to wait for it to arrive on the West Coast etc. Earlier calls to the company had assured us the material was usually always available on the West Coast and it was a popular color and they kept it in stock. But even if it wasn't available nearby, Fox marble seemed to move at a snail's pace in terms of seeing that they could fulfill their promise as to the installation date. Also, apparently, they never checked on the color availability before assuring us of their abilities to install it. When they quartz was installed they severed the electrical line to the under counter cabinet lights, and our contractor had to drill in from the neighboring bathroom wall to reconnect them. They also left a large deposit of the compound they use to attach the quartz on our new hardwood floors that left a quarter size mark which we can't remove. Otherwise the quartz was installed correctly and looks beautiful! read more

Fox was recommended to us by IRG (where we bought our marble). The cost that Fox told is it would be to cut and install our marble was far in advance of what I thought any reasonable price would be for a few cuts and and install (over $10k). After seeing that much of the stone cutting industry charges way over priced rates due to lack of competition, we relented and assigned the job. About 75% of our stone was used for the job at hand. I had plans to use the remaining amount for other projects. However, Fox insists that this stone was destroyed with the cuts. This is pure BS. The stone reaming was worth ~$3,000 and Fox refused any and all inquires in returning it to us. I highly recommend going with anyone else but Fox for your stone cutting needs. read more

We had a lot of granite and slate flooring that needed cleaning and resealing so we contacted them and other contractors for estimates. We chose Fox Marble because of Dan's professionalism and quick response with a written proposal that was detailed and clear. He made several suggestions that we were glad he made. Mike did the work and was highly professional, courteous, and thorough. We are thrilled with the difference in the look of our granite and floors. i called to get a quote on a 1 (one) cut job and the guy asked for a detailed drawing to be faxed over. Hello, this is one cut that is 6' long. takes maybe 2 minutes (add one minute for set up) when i balked at having to send over a spec, the 'sales' guy quoted me $3oo. for 3 minutes of work???? wish we could all get paid like this. the next place I called was Benattar and spoke directly with the owner Moshe and Moshe says, bring it by - it will take all of two minutes, I can do this for you for FREE. Go to Benattar the first time instead of these guys... (Benattar -415.821.1500) Since Ben O. quoted me a price it is obvious that they do this kind of "DYI" gig but it costs way more than Benattar considers it to. Moshe is also NOT set up for DYI, since He has an amazing stone design and cutting shop (with plenty of stone on the premise - but unlike FOX Marble, Moshe considered my 2 minute job as a good will gesture, never knowing how many people I might steer in his direction, and I mention it to all of my contractor and design network. Full-throated five-star review for Fox Marble's restoration work! I have beautiful marble countertops in my kitchen that I did not choose but would never replace. Anyone who loves to cook knows that white marble and ANYTHING don't mix! My counters were etched and guests in the kitchen made me a nervous wreck. Recently, and finally, California got a marble anti-etch product called More Anti-Etch that Fox Marble has the exclusive rights to employ here in the Bay Area. I tried reading about anti-etch products and all reviewers complained about a "glass top look" or a "plastic look" with anti-etch products. So when I called Fox, I asked for them to deliver a sample of marble with this More treatment so that I could see it, and test it, myself. I put lemons, olive oil, and red wine on the sample and left it for 24 hours. All wiped away and NO etching, no trace that anything had ever been there. I hired Fox to do this service and in walks Joel, the kindest, happiest, most thorough person I have had the pleasure of meeting. He likes his job, cares about his work, and is an enthusiast for not only this product but also for the Fox team. All in all, a 100% recommendation from me for the More Anti-Etch treatment, Fox's customer service, and for Joel's work ethic and workmanship! Thank you thank you thank you!!! read more

It is indeed sad when a business is so indifferent and lethargic in responding to customer requests. I am in need of, what I consider, a fairly good quantity of counter top material. I got in touch with their Sales person over the phone and set up an appointment to share the architectural and design plans with them so that they could give me a quote. When I reached the store at the appointed time, the sales person was not to be found. I waited for a while, when another good samaritan from the store took copies of the plans I carried with me and showed me a few slabs in the warehouse and committed to sharing the plans with the sales person and having her get me a quote within a couple of days. I returned home, pretty optimistic with my interaction with them. 4 days went by and no sign of the quote. I thought the information must have gotten lost in translation so called and left a VM for the sales person and also sent her an email. Still no response. 4 weeks later, I contact the office again and get in touch with the sales person. She acknowledged receiving the information and assured me that I would get the information the same morning. However, the assurances were as empty as the previous ones. May be my business is not big enough for you. If it is so, I would like to know that so that I don't waste your time and mine in securing your services. read more

Fox Marble came highly recommended by our designer in a major overhaul they did to our home in 2010. They did all the marble in two bathrooms as well as our kitchen. Unfortunately, the quality of their installation was extremely poor. The side marble slab next to our sink wasn't attached to the countertop properly, which left space between the two slabs which led to chipping. When we called them in to fix the chipping they blamed us for the chips suggesting we caused the problem. Nonetheless they fixed it for free the first time, only to leave some horrible discoloration between the cement they used and the marble. It continued chipping and 4 years later it looks terrible. They continue to try to charge us to fix work they never installed properly. On top of this, the marble in our bathroom has been chipped where the shower stall attaches to the marble also since the day we moved in. Despite 2-3 different trips to fix the problem it still exists, and now is rusting. Last trip out they quoted us $1000 to fix it - yet another problem they created. They don't stand behind their work so you ought to avoid them at all costs. read more

I don't know if this is SOP for granite retailers/fabricators... but... pros: - they sell the slabs & fabricate in-house, eliminates some extra running around - decent selection of materials - reputation for doing good work (mine has not been installed yet, so we'll see!) cons: - impossible to schedule anything in a timely manner (they need TWO weeks advanced notice just to schedule a measurement appointment) - lead times for countertop installation are ridiculous - they are not open on the weekend, only open until 4:30 on weekdays, and the last appointment of the day to do a layout on your slab is 1:30pm... therefore, you must take time off work to get anything done w/ them my kitchen designer warned me about them, said they don't use them because of the difficulties w/ scheduling/lead time. i should have listened! buy your slab at integrated resources (they have an awesome selection & an impressive, knowledgable staff - ask for alexis!) & find an independent fabricator... ** update ** ok, ok, i guess i was a little hard on them. added an extra star b/c they did do a great job with our countertops. it took them 2 weeks to install (after they measured). the technology they use makes it nearly impossible to screw up, which is very reassuring when you're spending that much $$. there were no seams that the human eye could detect, it was flawless. overall, would recommend them, assuming you are very organized & can plan way in advance. read more

Fox did the countertops for our kitchen remodel eight years ago, and we were so happy with their work that we had them do another kitchen in our new home in December. We then had them come back in July and install a stone fireplace mantel. The sales staff was a little slow returning phone calls, but the quality of the work far outweighs the minor inconvenience of waiting a few extra days for a phone call. Fernando, our template man, was excellent and even offered a few design ideas that we felt made the completed project turn out even nicer. Think Mad Max at the Thunderdome on a bleak rainy day; streets are empty; large hulking mechanized monsters sit abandoned as some lurch on command as a slave to it's driver and you have the feeling of driving up to Fox Marble on a Saturday... notice when they are open. Driving up on the flooded and potholed dirt, calling it a road would be a misnomer, you are confronted by a large rusted, beaten sliding door; gashes and bulges apparent from trying to keep something out or keep what is in from getting out. The foreboding gate covers a gnarled gaw of an opening to the yard and warehouse beyond. They were closed but I was very intimidated by the experience. AWESOME! read more
