You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table hot and delicious. The ladies working the coffee bar are friendly and patient as you try to order just 1 selection. So many good choices. Seating is open with tables for dining and chairs and couches for sipping a relaxing beverage. There is plenty of street parking spaces out front. While there the daily lunch sandwiches were being posted. Will try lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend.

This is my favorite place to eat in the area, it is not to be missed. The food is all crafted to accentuate local flavors, and homemade goodness. It's the type of meal you didn't know you were missing until after you have it. The quiches, egg sandwiches, french toast and baked goods are just out of this world. The coffee is top notch. The espresso is parallel to anything you'd find anywhere in a larger city; they have a great coffee bar, machine. I think it's also worth mentioning the people are really great. I come typically when I'm studying at Penland, and the owner always remembers me. They're just genuinely nice people who take an interest in others, and care about what they do. This is a must stop in the area. I would travel an hour here for the breakfast (and have). read more

When I exited my vehicle the cold wind reminded me it was 21 degrees. When I stepped in to the Fox and the Fig I instantly warmed up. My mocha, in a classic white cup was delicious, pretty sure the syrup is home made. The espresso blended well with the milk and I was glad the latte wasn't overly foamy. The ginger cookie was the perfect thing to pair with my mocha. I enjoyed the music and the quiet space. First, I tried a piece of homemade toast with all the fixings (butter and jam) and a cup of loose leaf chai, due to the barista's recommendation. They were both incredible. The bread was soft and the crust had just the right crunch. Then on the way out, I grab a pour over coffee and a quiche with local sausage. I ate the quiche in the car and almost had to pull over. It was perfect. The space is really inviting, the food and drinks are top notch, and the staff are all kind and welcoming. Love it! read more

Coffee shops is our thang and this one is at the top of our list! We were in the area on vacation and spotted this eclectic shop in this quaint town. We were greeted and treated as family. I ordered their turmeric and ginger tonic and my husband got a house coffee. Both were fantastic! We ended up getting two cookies (chocolate espresso and peanut butter) they were phenomenal. Also picked up a handful of stickers and a cute pin. We will definitely return. read more

So thankful we stopped here on the way home! We would have definitely missed out! A wonderfully calming cafe with fantastic craft coffee - they also have pottery, jewelry and other local crafts for sale! I picked up a ginger molasses cookie and the only reason why I wish I didn't is because I live five hours away and won't be able to have it for a long time!
