Most other business give 60% towards store credit so stay away from Retro loot if u have trade ins u will lose money!!

This has become my 10-year-old son's favorite retro store. We have visited about 10 times since…read morediscovering it this past summer. It has very good pricing and a great selection of games and consoles. Consoles generally range from the Atari VCS (2600) to seventh generation (360, DS, Wii, PS3). Consoles come with one controller and the attachments needed to hook the system up to a TV. The console software is pretty extensive, starting with the NES and running up through 7th gen. Most of the handheld is Gameboy and DS. Once again, their selection is rather well rounded. Some of the more premium titles are located in the display case back by the register. There are also some rare curiosities in the collection that were pleasant surprises ( I never expected to see a full catalog of Virtual Boy software on display anywhere ). Something to be aware of is that any retro purchases can sometimes not work out. We have had one GBA cart and an XBOX cd fail to start when trying out the software at home. The store has a very generous return policy. I believe as long as you bring back the title within 10, they will accept returns and exchanges. The staff is very friendly and will always try to help out. In our cases, the store gave us a direct exchange on the scratched XBOX disc after trying to repair it instore, and a full refund for the GBA game. The store also has other typical collections (Trading Card Games, Funko Pops and other figurines). These are not my area of expertise, so I can't comment on the selection or prices. Several arcade machines are set on free-to-play mode at the store entrance to round out the experience. If vintage video games are your thing, then Retro Loot is definitely worth checking out.

Saw this place as a suggested stop via yelp and decided to stop by. Being nerds and collectors…read moreourselves, its nice to see things outside conventions and local that we can stop by and check out. First, its a little confusing where this is. It's located INSIDE of State Theater Vintage Emporium, which is an adventure in itself. Walk in the doors, go up the stairs and its the first "big" fixture/box shop on the left. They carried everything and anything anime and Japanese from plush, figures, cards/card games to even straight from Japan video games and trinkets for Ita Bags. They even had some Pocky, Ramune and other Japanese snacks for purchase. I think we saw the owner restocking as we perused and he was very personable mentioning he could answer any questions we had. Prices were in line/if not better than ones I see at conventions and online. Overall a great place to stop if you're in the market for current or vintage Japanese goods.

You'll know it's him when you see mountains of overpriced product and cards scattered around with very little attention to detail. He's by far the most scummy and self-righteous person I have come across during my Pokemon collecting journey. He's too lazy to accurately price his cards so instead he uses zero organization skills to place cards worth less than $2 each across various binders at absurd prices of $4 or even $8 per card. Don't worry he'll cut you a deal if you buy 3 for $20. What a steal! Avoid this guy at all costs. You can find better priced and higher quality product from virtually anywhere else.

I would like to take this time to revise the original review I left for TCG after speaking with the…read morestore manager/owner about my first visit. To recap, I previously made a trip to this location to purchase some Yugioh singles. Prior to making the trip, I called them and they told me they went by the market prices listed on TCG.com. When I got to the store, they were quoting me prices that were much higher than the TCG.com market prices and that threw me way off. If they weren't going to honor the prices they told me over the phone, why make me drive almost 20 miles away to be told something else different. I left and decided I wouldn't buy anything from them if they were running the ole bait and switch tactics. About a month later, my cousin wanted to see what they had in stock and I decided to drive him to TCG. To call them out on their bait and switch tactics, I asked them straight up why I was told one thing over the phone and when I came into their store, they told me something else different. The store manager/owner gave me a good explanation and said their card prices are sold at a minimum because the customer is paying something like an organizational fee. He said if there was a particular card someone was looking for, they could locate it under 30 seconds and won't be looking through boxes and boxes of cards for several minutes because all of their stuff is organized and in order. I understood that concept because it's very rare that someone can go to a card shop and the product is well organized. I wish they would have explained that to me during my first visit. It actually makes a lot of sense. Other than that, their place is very organized, its very clean, the playing area is very cozy, and they have almost everything that you might be looking for. Their prices for singles may be a little high, but they'll definitely have what you're looking for and it beats buying your stuff directly than taking a chance with an online vendor and possibly getting scammed.

I don't collect/play cards and/or play tabletop games, I just go there for the retro video games…read more So, keep that in mind. They have GREAT stock with plenty to choose from. But all the staff is always by all the cards, there's never anyone by the games to let you look at things in the case, etc. It's a little annoying finding someone every time you want to look at a binder of loose games or see the quality of a game in the case. But they're always friendly!
