Overall good spot for some Greek fusion food. Solid portion sizes and the highlight items were the chicken souvlaki and mezze dip trio. Service was fine but felt a bit rushed since I think the kitchen apparently was closing for their afternoon turn over. But good casual food fare and ambiance. You won't leave hungry! read more

Food was delicious. My husband orders moussaka everywhere and usually is underwhelmed but this time he was raving! I loved my lamb shank and the mezze was great too. Would definitely come again! Also the waitstaff was so welcoming and patient with my husband's questions! read more

My loved ones wanted to go to Dine Out Vancouver and one of them was wanting Greek food so we found this little fusion spot to go to! The interior of the restaurant on the smaller side but it has a cozy and pleasant ambiance. We made reservations and we were seated a little over 10 minutes after the time even though there were other empty tables, but we were fine with waiting a bit. The service interactions were relatively minimal (which is kind of expected since it's Dine Out) but they were quick to refill water or clear our plates. We started with appetizers of Garlic Prawns and Mushroom Arancini. The appys were more on the lukewarm side and felt like it might've been sitting there for a short while, but tasted decent! The mains of Chicken Souvlaki and Roast Lamb had good portions. This was probably one of the most moist chicken skewers I've had and the dill/cranberry pilaf complimented it well with the tzatziki sauce! My loved one thought their lamb was decent though could've been more tender. The dessert of Tiramisu and French Vanilla Ice Cream rounded off the meal with their sweetness and pretty good taste! It was $35 for 3 courses so we thought it was pretty good value. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and we enjoyed our time together over dinner! read more

Just got to Vancouver today and was looking for a place to eat nearby when we stumbled upon Four Olives. Wow, it was amazing in every way. We went with the set menu, and from the beet arugula salad to the lamb dish and tiramisu, everything was so good we literally cleaned the plates like we did the dishes ourselves :) My whole family was super happy with the meal. As we were about to leave, it suddenly started pouring like crazy, and we were kinda freaking out. We asked if there was a place nearby to buy umbrellas, and the staff (maybe owner) were SO kind -- they actually lent us two umbrellas! I can't even explain how thankful we were. We're definitely bringing them back tomorrow and thanking them again properly. Honestly, if you're anywhere near this area, you have to check this place out. Can't recommend it enough. read more

Food 4/5 Service 3/5 Ambiance 3/5 Came here with a friend for DOV and although the food was delicious, I could not believe how tiny the portions were. It was supposed yo be a three course meal but every course was so tiny that I was left wanting more. The dessert was a tiramisu cake but they sliced it down and it was literally so thin a slice that I swallowed it in 2 bites. Disappointed in that they would shrink portions because it's dov. I won't be back as I expect more realistic portions and for the price point it's not worth it! After tax and tips, our total came out to $115 and we were still starving read more

Hard to knock a star for Greek Salad not being default but laaaawwd. . calamari dinner husband was a smitten kitten over. Kid went to town on souvlaki. Greek salad was tasty but needed more acid... Still thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Solid service, great ambiance. 12/10! Will be back read more

Four Olives - Chicken souvlaki, extra skewer for the little - Mediterranean Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Finally got to try this lovely neighbourhood Greek restaurant. I had the lamb shank, seafood alfredo and cheesecake to share. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender with amazing bits of fat that melt in your mouth and a rich, flavourful sauce. With a mouthful of the accompanying rice and tzatziki, I was pretty much in heaven- not to mention the surprisingly tasty potato and delicious side salad with tomatoes, apples and marinated beets. I feel this dish really shows the chef's care, with even the accompanying sides so well done. Definitely the star dish of the night! For the seafood alfredo, the fettucine was a proper al dente with a rich sauce and generous amount of seafood. The mussels were especially tasty. Garlic bread was good too. If I had to be extra picky, the alfredo sauce could have used just a hint more flavour, perhaps in the form of some parmesan cheese. Finally, the cheesecake. Looking at the menu, I was intrigued and a bit doubtful of the banana and cheesecake combo, but I'm SO glad I went for it. The dense, creamy cheesecake goes so well with the banana slices drenched in caramelized rum sauce. And with how rich it is, this can easily be a dessert for two to share. Must try! All in all an excellent meal. Thank you again to the staff at Four Olives for the invite and generous hospitality! read more

I love this place! It is a hidden gem. The service was good and the drinks and food were wonderful! My old fashioned was pretty good! It was one of the better ones I had in a while. The beetroot salad was fantastic! The fritters in the salad is a fantastic addition and the steak and risotto entry was good value. It is easy to get to from UBC and I would recommend it to anyone craving steak, italian or Greek food! read more

One of the worst Greek meals I've ever had. Overcooked lamb and my wife's chicken was also overcooked and dry. So many great Greek restaurants in Vancouver to choose from but this one is definitely not one of them. read more

We had the best experience at the Four Olives Restaurant yesterday while we organized my mother-in-law's 80th birthday party there. Randomly found this restaurant on Yelp! One of the BEST restaurants I've found this way! I can't believe I've never been here before! I would definitely recommend the veggie lasagna; I usually get meat lasagna but I just wanted to try it out. Not a huge portion of veggies but tons of ooey gooey cheese and flavour! If you love olives the 4 olives starter is amazing! Very flavourful and perfect with wine! Been there about 3 times since the first. read more

Got takeout. I was in and out quickly but I really like the space - it's small but the ambiance is sophisticated. I got the daily special, butternut squash ravioli with Cajun prawns, and the tiramisu. The ravioli was so delicious! The prawns were heartily seasoned and the creamy sauce went really well with the sweet squash filling. The ravioli and sauce had a nice velvety texture. The bicolour ravioli were also a nice touch! I spent a bit of time after I was finished scraping every last bit of sauce out of that container. Tiramisu was just a standard tiramisu but done perfectly - not soggy or dry, and a thick but pillowy layer of cream on top. My only complaint with them was that the portions on both the ravioli and dessert were a bit small for the price. I thought the portion size in and of itself was fine - definitely not as big as some places do but I like not feeling totally stuffed after a meal, and I was satisfied after finishing. I just expected a bit more for the amount I paid. I would definitely come back though, this was the best restaurant food I've had in a while! read more

A pleasant surprise. Ambiance is nice, food is good quality and they offer some vegetarian options too. Our orders took a bit long to arrive but I think it's cause they were waiting to serve all our dishes at once and one girl came+ordered later. Was debating if I should get pasta but opted the Chicken Souvlaki ($17) since they're a mediterranean restaurant. It came with chicken, rice, greens, roasted potato, bread, and tzatziki. Everything was seasoned well. Had to take some home since it was a big portion. read more

Four olives is good now, and hopefully it will improve once they've worked out the kinks. We had the fried platter, the mezze trio, and the beet salad with the goat cheese saganaki. Everything was pretty good, and had a bit of a twist - perhaps too much of a twist sometimes. The spanakopita was more like a samosa for instance - I liked it, but perhaps not quite as much as the traditional flakey version. The wine selection was also a bit odd - I was hoping for some Italian wines, but almost everything is from the Americas - glad to see the BC wines, but I would have liked more Mediterranean options for a Mediterranean restaurant. I also got an Old Fashioned to test the cocktail game, and that too was a bit off - too much ice. All that being said, i did certainly enjoy myself, and I look forward to trying the other option. I will indeed be back. read more

Amazing food! Fantastic flavours--Greek food, but elevated. We had the four olives, frites, broccoli/cauliflower, gnocchi, vegetarian mousaka a lamb shoulder on special, and the galaktobureko--all absolutely, absolutely delicious. At one point I ate a tomato in the gnocchi and it was so good I almost cried. Enough food to feel stuffed by the end of it, too! Value for the price, and the ambiance is great. The restaurant is also very wheelchair accessible! read more

I'd like to rename the restaurant to One Olive. It doesn't deserve four.... Having a craving for souvlaki I decided to google and see what was available near me. The closet was Four Olives, so I browsed their website and menu and decided to head over. I walked in the front door and was immediately taken aback as the place looked fabulous with its newly renovated, meticulous, modern decor. It was around dinner time, and was half full. Being that I was actually there for takeout and wearing old and tatty work clothes, I certain would have felt out of place had I done a sit-down. I was confident I made a good decision, and that I would rewarded with a great meal. What could go wrong.... My first 'disappointment' occurred immediately. The print menu price for the Lamb Souvlaki entrée was $24 and not the $20 advertised on their website. Ok, I understand that prices have risen and substantially of late, but any business with an attention to detail should have this under control. At a minimum it's unprofessional and at worse false advertising. https://fourolives.ca/menu/ I order the dish and ask the server how long shall I expect wait. She replied "Approx. 20 minute". "Cool. 20 minutes", I thought to myself, equated that to the time it take for souvlaki meat being freshly grilled! I It arrive 5-7 minutes later. That should have been a red flag, I was so wrong. The lamb was not cooked fresh. Based on its morsel size, moisture content, and texture, I suspect it was previously cooked, frozen, thawed, and then tossed on the grill, or at worse microwaved, to warm it. The lamb was so over tenderized from the use of powder. Not only was it not washed off or removed that I could taste it, but the meat had the texture of compressed wood pulp. After a few pieces I was wondering if it was actually Gyros meat (and a slight headache during the night might be from MSG). I don't even want to know what part of animal was used. The morsels were so tiny in size, barely averaging 15mm square. Given its name, the Dill & Cranberry rice pilaf had potential. Sadly, it failed. The kernels were anemic, the cranberries few and far between, but the worst part was the overuse of herb and salt to the point that for the latter I could taste grains. Next, the tzatziki was watered down to the point where anymore it couldn't cling to the pita bread when dipped. At $24, I expected the pita bread to be more than 'white bread' bland or generic. Lastly, despite having very fresh spinach, the salad too was a failure. It was essentially naked as it contained only 3 and extremely long and unmanageable strings of raw beet, and less than 1cc of beet juice for what I can only assume was a mistake or worse a choice of dressing. On a positive note, the brown paper bag did not break on the way home walk, but, in retrospect, why should it as the portion weight was miniscule.......... read more

My first visit to 4Olives was incredibly positive. My wife had the moussaka which she thoroughly enjoyed both in flavour and presentation. My crusted halibut was also delicious. Both were a bit unconventionally prepared and presented, which definitely added to the experience. The manager was pleasant and engaging and the venue is modern and open. I hope this place flourishes as it can't help but aid in the re-energizing of the 10th Avenue retail area which could sorely use it at this point in time. read more

Brand new and a fresh take on Greek food with many vegetarian options! Delicious and well priced. My fav new spot!

Tried the restaurant few days ago. we ordered a salad which was not what the ingredients that was written on the menu. Garlic prawn were good. Also ordered some Cajun shrimp ravioli which was special. Ravioli was too uncooked. I thought in Greek food you get a potato and salad( tomato, cucumber and cheese etc .. what was there is one wedge of potato and arugula salad. Seafood Fettucine was good. Just had a fantastic meal here. Am a local and have had high hopes for the long-awaited opening - was better than we had hoped for! Two of us had the pickle platter and calamari appies. Calamari was the best I've ever had outside of Greece; a huge serving, light batter and very tender. We were pretty much full before our mains arrived - beef mousaka and lamb shank. Both delicious and HUGE servings (I had to walk home to burn some of it off). What a gift to the neighbourhood, can thoroughly recommend and look forward to eating here for many more years (though maybe only sharing an appie in future). Service from Danya was excellent and perfectly attentive. Wine list a little limited but we are splitting hairs now. Neighbours, come out and support our local spots - use it or lose it! read more
