Started with the appetizer special which was a sampler of apps, and our server was nice enough to sub in some pretzel bites for us. All of the apps were good though, hot and fresh and even more importantly, tasty. We got the mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, and bangin shrimp. For the main dish I got the spicy smash burger and added bacon. The burger was pretty tasty, both patties were juicy and overall it was the perfect spice. I will say, the burger patties themselves didn't really seem like smash style patties, they were fairly thicker and seemed to be normal grilled patties. Having two was almost too much burger to bun/topping ratio in my opinion. Fries could have been a little more seasoned and crispy as well, but that's more of a personal preference. Also got the Dark and Stormy cocktail as well. It was a nice and refreshing drink to get the meal started, two rums with lime juice, vanilla, and soda water. Overall, the meal was pretty good, and would still come back again!

They arrived and were coned nicely and had a great taste. (Still no silverware or napkins) we asked for napkins of course at this point because our hands are sticky. Food came. Burger was missing lettuce (easy fix) he said his steak was cooked PERFECTLY (still no silverware) I requested more mayo and more dressing (still no silverware) we realized there wasn't any silverware when he wanted to cut into the steak. So we had to request silverware. Back to the steak.... Cooked PERFECTLY..... zero seasoning. Added a little salt and requested steak sauce and the steak was demolished. My wales saw my water getting low and said she was coming with more water. I finished my water she came by and asked if we needed anything.... Water please. With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. The servers were pleasant and the place wasn't crowded at all. A total of 4 other parties were in and out during our visit.

Anthony is my fav bartender but everyone does an amazing job. I love the on the menu jalapeno strawberry margarita, but like this night pictured if I want something else he will make it for me ! And he's never made me a bad drink ! (This wasn't my first rodeo here ). On to the food. This wasn't my first time having the collard sausage dip and I could eat it with my hands it was so delicious freshly made and creamy ! This is hands down the best dip I've ever had and to top it off the fried pita !! My only complaint is there aren't enough pitas to dip ratio but I will order more next time. And I found the dip greatly paired with the catfish. ( no judgement) The catfish is something I've had before but I didn't have the pleasure of the waffles the last time and let me tell you ! This is a work of art. I want to personally meet whoever made this idea of layered fish , greens and waffles but it was heavenly. And I wanted to eat it all but my stomach just wouldn't allow it. I did however heat the leftover the following morning for breakfast and they were still perfect. Last but not least the Mac and cheese was creamy, noodles were perfectly cooked and it was seasoned to a T. I'm picky on Mac and cheese being my favorite food and they do it justice. See you all next weekend!

The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

The days of pounding shots in bars are long behind me and not fun anymore. But a cigar lounge and a glass of whiskey feels relaxed and more sophisticated. The Smoke & Oak has been on my wish list list for a while and I'm happy I finally went! The location is nondescript, looking like a normal house from the street were it not for the sign. Street parking was not difficult to find. Inside, the ambiance is great. Soft warm lighting, ample plush leather chairs for seating, attractive displays of cigars and a huge selection of whiskeys. The staff are passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly and made great recommendations. Walking in as a complete novice felt intimidating, and they made it much easier than I expected. I was taught basic terminology and options on pairings. Pricing felt reasonable and fair. The atmosphere was extremely laid back and relaxing. Socializing and networking with the other men was fun. I'll absolutely come back and you should too.

The inside is cozy and on the smaller side but so cute. We started with the buratta appetizer which came with focaccia and pesto which was all amazing. The pesto had a great garlic flavor and the bread was lightly toasted. For an entree, I had the Moroccan couscous with crispy chickpeas and even though the picture might look a little weird, I can assure you it was delicious. The chickpeas were really crispy as promised and the flavor was delicious. It was well seasoned and the sauces were so good. The green one was a mint parsley I think and the orange was my favorite - red pepper tahini. My only complaint would be that I want more of the sauce because it was so good. I really enjoyed & I appreciated that they had this vegan option. They have tons of wine & the cocktail menu is also great. The waiter was super friendly and quick. I ordered a cocktail with vodka instead of tequila which wasn't a problem at all. I tried a few of the cocktails and they were all really good and perfectly described on the menu. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, and that hot honey sauce had the perfect sweet heat. Then the pickles and ranch came through and balanced everything out perfectly. Every bite just worked. The sides definitely deserve their own shoutout too. The tots and fries were really good, but those onion rings? Whew. Crispy, flavorful, and dangerously easy to keep eating. The vibe inside Earls was really nice too, relaxed, fun, and welcoming. The staff was super friendly and took really good care of us the whole time.

Earl's has become a Winston-Salem staple, their location, general atmosphere, and high-quality…read moreservice fits right in. Their food? Well in my experience, top notch. I've been to Earl's quite a few times over the past few years and they're always reliable. Their service is snappy and quite attentive. Their kitchen knows what's up. Tonight my wife and I attended the Yelp Triad Burger Bosses community event. The event itself was a really good time. Seemed like good attendance, with Earl's getting plates out quickly and carefully. The Yelp crew knocked it out, great setup, signage, communication, and overall had a great event. Incredibly nice and welcoming. Alright, onto the meal! Earl's brought out drinks and an appetizer to start, unfortunately I was unable to drink this evening, but I could smell the cocktail from across the table. I wanted it, like a lot. The appetizer was a tray of their hush puppies, onion rings, and fries. The tots alone may be the best in the area (at least), but their onion rings take the top spot for my favorite in Winston. Don't get me wrong, fries are my thing, and they're pretty good, but it's hard to compete with the tots and onion rings (And restaurant ranch, obviously). Alright that burger rocks. I don't have a good intro for it, but if you like chicken & waffles (and you should) this is the burger for you. If you don't like chicken & waffles, this is still for you. I mean, this isn't just chicken and waffles. It's a full-on experience. The fried chicken is glazed in sweet sauce that has met a pepper or three. It's decently spicy, not overtly, but it reminds you. The sauce is where it's at; flavorful, sweet, spicy, perfect for this burger. Same for the chicken- we've established that they can fry some food, and they fried the chicken perfectly. The breading was thin enough to not be overwhelmed by the waffle, but was still plenty (and stayed crunchy even with the sauce). Man those waffles though, they did something with them, maybe some extra flavoring in the batter. Doesn't matter, I'm gonna need that waffle recipe. I'll start by saying I'm not a big pickle guy, don't generally care for them. Grain of salt and all that. I didn't take the pickles off and I'm still here to write the review. Okay they were good enough that I'll eat them. Pickles add the acidity the dish needs, and in my opinion, complete the dish. Lastly, this is a Yelp burger event. It's ostensibly for burgers. Was tonight's dish a burger? Yes, yes it is. If you disagree, remember- it's okay to be wrong.
