(12/05/2012) We love food from trucks! Tried the Crab Cake Sandwich ($10.00) and Chicken Pocket ($8.50) for lunch today outside of the Metro stop. Crab cake was on the salty side, evidence of lots of dried parsley and celery seed; cake was moist, had a few lumps (not really the all-lump as advertised) about 4 oz., not bad for a $10 crab cake. Chicken Pocket (choice of fried or grilled, got the fried) was half a 6-inch whole wheat pita stuffed with lettuce, tomato, melted American cheese, chopped fried chicken cutlet, and "special sauce" (think Thousand Island without the pickle relish); sandwich was warm, gooey, heavily dressed, and all right. Menu at the truck was limited to mostly deep fried foods (shrimp, fries, chicken fingers), 3 types of "pocket" sandwiches (fish, beef, chicken), and a few varieties of hot sandwiches (burgers, turkey burgers, chicken cutlets, cheesesteaks). Convenient if they pull right up to your door, but you might consider more creative options if there are other trucks around.

A twist tie I found in my chicken pocket... DO NOT EAT HERE

You can grab a hot breakfast and brunch, empanadas, pies, donuts, coffee, vegan items, dips, fresh bread, flowers, tea, dairy meat and, of course, locally grown fruits and vegetables. I went to the market for some fresh baked bread and bagels. While I was there, I was persuaded to purchase a vegan sandwich and some organic vegetables. I had to stop myself because there were quite a bit of other things that caught my eye too. The market is set up right below the highway and was very easy to get to. There is a public parking lot right next to it as well as lots of street parking. I found the Instagram page for the market and the website to be very helpful and informative with information like times, vendors and explanations on how to arrive. All of this adds up for a uniquely Baltimore experience with something for everyone.

It's located right in the city of Baltimore under the highway bridge on E Saratoga St. Street parking is free and i guess there is a way to reserve parking in line now. The prices are fair. Need a coffee fix? The local Zeke's coffee is on site to assist! Many fresh foods, plants, and seafood to choose from. Definitely worth a visit!

After walking around and trying a few savory things like bacon, schnitzel, and a raclette sandwich, we decided to end the night with something sweet and stopped by the mini donut stand. The first thing that caught my attention was the long line -- which is always a good sign. The second good sign was being able to watch them make the donuts fresh right in front of you. I'll happily stand in line any day for fresh food, especially when you can see the whole process and watch the magic happen. I went with the cinnamon sugar mini donuts and wow... they were so good. Fresh, crispy on the outside, warm, and perfectly sweet. The only thing I wish I had with them was a cold glass of milk -- although I'm not sure if they offered that. Honestly, I'd come back to the market just for these donuts. Eating them fresh right on the spot is definitely the best way to enjoy them, but they'd also be great to bring home and pop in the air fryer to get that crispiness back. My friend got a different flavor (I can't remember exactly which one), but both were incredibly fresh and the kind of treat that makes you want to keep coming back for more. Next year when the market returns, this stand is definitely going on my must-visit list again. After enjoying all the savory food at the market, these warm mini donuts were the perfect sweet ending.

You can taste the difference compared to the typical fair donuts; these are light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The variety of toppings makes it fun to mix and match, and everything is made right in front of you. The staff is super friendly and always serve with a smile. Perfect for a quick treat or to share with friends -- though you'll probably want to keep them all to yourself! Highly recommend if you're in the downtown area craving something fresh and fun.

Terrible customer service. I left this review on their Facebook page:…read more "Can't rate the food or customer service of this truck because after booking them and then reconfirming our event date (just to make certain), they never even showed up. No e-mail, no phone call. Nothing. We had many of our community residents very disappointed after having marketed this truck for almost two months prior to the confirmed event date. We even sent out their menu to the entire community and as a result they were very excited. This is a bad, bad way to do business. Never have we had a truck NOT show up onsite. It's a shame as I've heard great things about their food."

The meals here are priced to own (especially when parked next to the over-priced Woody's Tacos). This truck usually sports two young dudes listening to Flo Rida slinging standard Indian fare (Chicken Curry, Tikki Marsala and Lamb Vindaloo). The prices are good ($8-9 for entrees), but the real value lies in the freshness. You can't swing a cat in Mt Vernon without hitting a lunchtime Indian buffet these days, but it is so often the same bubbling fodder that has been sitting in a tired chaffing dish since it got mixed in with the leftovers from yesterday. At this food truck, the meals are made fresh and you can epecially taste it in the meats and Indian flat bread. The meals aren't trying to blow your mind, just serve up some good, fresh noise to go. All dishes come with plenty of rice, a side salad and a rameken of that green chutney sauce. The Flo Rida is complementary.
