    Hummus Trip was so tasty!
    Michele B.

The food and drink at Foundry was great! We started with several appetizers- the family really liked the cauliflower. The chicken wings were exceptional. Nice and meaty, excellent sauces. We loved the Boom Boom the best. We also had the Hummus trio which I basically scraped every bite of. The feta dip was especially pleasing. As a group, we enjoyed several selections from the extensive beer and cocktail menu. I had the Ultimate Steak Melt, which was good but needed something else. Maybe a horseradish aioli or a steak sauce? Very generous portions though. Our waitress was a little lacking. I don't think she had the social skills or confidence for a server. Her behaviour was actually quite confusing. Maybe she was just overwhelmed? Anyway, it was a good experience and if I'm ever in the area I would definitely go back!

Fun place with an easy going atmosphere. The sandwiches are all good and the burgers are great. The food came out exactly as we wanted. Service is a little lack luster but it's off season and the pace is slower.

I've seen a lot of restaurants come and go in this spot, and I hope this is one of the ones that stays. We had an excellent experience with our waitress, Izzy, who was very friendly and attentive. She recommended us several menu items and did a fantastic job juggling multiple tables. I stepped outside my comfort zone and got a steak melt, and I ate the whole thing! Absolutely delicious, and they were happy to accommodate removing the pickle on the side and the sauce and onions from the sandwich. The appetizers were delicious as well. Just wish there were more of them! Great atmosphere as well and nice location. Would definitely return. Thanks for the great service, Izzy! :)

Ironworker Burger was HUGE and very good. Fries were crispy and delicious.

I tried a burger and it was really good. Much bigger than I expected. Fries were really good. I experienced very good service. I would definitely go again. Great location and decor.

I couldn't finish it. Too dry and tasteless.

I had high hope for a great burger at the nice place in the heart of Elk Rapids. Hope didn't happen this night. The burger was dry, slightly overcooked to well done and overall had no beef flavor to speak about. There was a char flavor but the underlying beef was absent. Fries were good. I might give this place another try, but not the burgers. I was so looking forward to a great meal. Server was nice but never asked how I wanted my burger cooked, and when I said that I was finished eating while half the burger was still on the plate, she picked it up and walked away without asking if anything was wrong with it. When asked if the beef was cooked from a frozen patty, the waitress said that she didn't know. Okay, must be frozen if they don't know. Maybe that is why it was dry and lacking flavor.

Food was good, but I've never had a restaurant say we have to do a burger medium well or well done only.

A burger for 19 bucks? That's without fries. Town Club is better. Their prices have gone thru the roof and the service is just ok.

We had a rental house around the corner and it delighted me to have a little dessert and snack shop nearby. It's a walk up window specializing in soft serve treats like cones, sundaes, flurries, shakes and malts. The ice cream is smooth and dreamy! I had the turtle sundae and it was divine! My mom went for a soft serve with strawberries and we were impressed that it was chunks of fresh strawberries, not a fake syrup. My husband went with an orange float and it was made with local Northwoods soda. It was all so good! They also have a menu of savory snacks like soft pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and sloppy joes. We kept talking about stopping by for a pretzel but it didn't work out so I can't speak much to their savory offerings, unfortunately. The stand itself is adjacent to the GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo and, upon looking the place up online, I learned that Kettlewell's is the name of a groundbreaking moth researcher and that's the kind of nerdy trivia that I live for. Typically our family will buy a half pound slab or two of Murdick's Fudge, because it is everywhere up here in the Traverse Bay area. I am *devastated* that I wasted thirty-some-odd years of my life on such sub-par fudge. I had no idea. 45th Parallel's Candy World (Yelp administrators, please correct your spelling) is a tiny shop on the side of a restaurant, but it has a hundred years of memories inside. Everything from clove candy, bubble gum cigars, big league chew, sour pucker powder, and even a giant Sugar Daddy. But behind the case are around twenty flavors of truly decadent, top-quality, gourmet fudge. Flavors such as dark chocolate salted caramel, bubble gum, maple nut, and peanut butter chocolate (complete with halved Reese's cups on top) tease the eyes while making the salivary glands work overtime. Our family's favorite is the dark chocolate salted caramel- the perfect amount of sea salt, and not at all bitter. Check the board outside for specials: today's was "buy one pound, get 1/2 pound free". When you're in the Suttons Bay/Leelanau area, bypass Dam Candy and Murdick's and head STRAIGHT for Candy World!
