delicious catfish with okra & grits
    Kerry F.

We stopped for dinner after a long day of driving and despite a very promising menu and a full house, I was just underwhelmed. We sat at the bar and we were promptly greeted. The service was friendly and very accommodating. I ordered the black and catfish Poboy my husband ordered the bourbon orange salmon, which was a special that they were running for bourbon month. And we started with a order of frog legs. Our frog legs came out fairly fast however they were horribly overcooked and even worse. They were only three. Three legs for one order. We let the bartender know that they were overcooked and she was gracious enough to get us a replacement. The second batch was much better, but again three legs for the price point seemed a little ridiculous. Our food came out. My husband was very good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the orange glaze was delightful. My blackened catfish Poboy was fine but the protein was so small. It was two solid bites of bread before I got to the actual catfish. The bread was great, but if that's going to be the size of your protein, I would recommend getting smaller buns. I upgraded to sweet potato fries and disappointingly they were cold and tasted like they had been sitting. At this point, I did not want to make any more waves so I just left them. Pearls is fun for a visit. It's clean and the decor is entertaining. I don't know if I just ordered the wrong things, but I doubt we will be back again.

Food was good, but a little overpriced for what was offered. Pearl's does offer deals for drinks and apps, so if you can catch Happy Hour from 3-5pm, it's a good option. Though it did offer variety in the area's cuisine options, which was great! Ordered the catfish which usually comes with hush puppies, but I was able to sub it for the very, very cheesy mashed potatoes. Thank you for being accommodating with that! Alligator bites did run a bit salty - maybe that's just NOLA seasoning, but the sauce complimented the dish well.

Food was relatively good, but I was expecting more flavor/spice for it being Cajun food. The drinks were good but a little overpriced. Our waitress was really nice! The cornbread was the driest piece of food I've ever eaten, it honestly was not good. I expected better cornbread from a Cajun food restaurant. The beans and rice were really delicious!

    Outstanding awarding food and service.

If you like Cajun cooking with that Mari grass feel you have come to the right place really loved the Ambiance. Serive was very quick and my beer glass stayed full . Shrimp poorboy sandwiches were 1/2 off on special . They really hit the spot.

I had the muffuletta sandwich and it was very very good! I loved the appetizers too, especially the Cajun shrimp. My sister in law and I practically drank the Broth. Gator bites were small and not a large portion, but they were tasty. We also tried cherry margaritas and they were so good! The restaurant was decorated really fun, I loved the bayou theme.

Drove 40 mins to eat here because it came up as an option for Dog Friendly Restaurants..nope not even on the patio. Their "dog friendly" suggestion was to leave him in the car.

This place is amazing! Food was excellent and our server Brooke was outstanding despite our large party and many questions. There are plenty of options for food and drinks so everyone will find something they like!

We try to make it to Pearl's whenever we are Up North, it is worth a side quest to experience. I remember going as a kid with my parents and being fascinated with the decor - an alligator on the ceiling! Marti grad beads strewn about! An incredible hot sauce collection lining the walls! As a parent now myself with two kids in tow, one picky and one with food allergies I love that they have something for us all - my carnivore husband included. Service is always friendly and prompt, I usually get the vegan hoppin' John to share with my son. The bread they bring out while you wait for your food is amazing. Go here. You'll never regret it.

Sunday is the day to go! They give free bread baskets on Sundays, and we got carrot cake muffins and a sort of chocolate bread with a side of butter. It was delicious -- wish we could have had more! They have a fairly expansive drink menu. I got a cherry margarita that came in a cute little mason jar. It lasted me through the entire meal, and they also gave us waters when we came in, so that was nice to have. We came around noonish, and they still had their brunch selections as well as regular lunch choices. There's a huge variety on the menu from burgers to fish to grits, but everything tasted delicious! The inside is pretty fun. There's a lot of bayou decorations, including giant alligators. Definitely not the fanciest establishment but I saw a lot of families here, and the kids seem to enjoy the interior. Our waitress was also super kind. Everyone who walked in the door was immediately greeted. Great experience overall.

I checked yelp and saw mixed reviews- I totally get it now. We sat on the back patio which was quiet and shady. The outdoor bar looked like a great spot to have a beer outside in the shade and my Dad said he probably will stop there again to do that in the fall. The food was incredibly hit or miss. Cherry burger: my husband said "as long as it isn't a burger with three sad cherries on it I bet it will be great". It was a burger with three sad cherries on it! He appreciated that they cooked it properly but was underwhelmed and agreed it was not what he expects from a $22 burger- even in a tourist town. Jambalaya: My Dad loved this even though he said it was too much rice. There were 3 large shrimp and some sausage in it as well. He is truly picky and would order again. Kids noodles: bow ties, good portion. My son loved them. Kids chicken: unusually heavy breading which was borderline burned in the frier on top of tough chicken. I had to peel the breading off for him to eat any of it. Walleye and Morels: the walleye was GREAT. Lightly breaded, moist and flakey. The morel sauce was a miss. Not much flavor and the morels- though quite a few- just weren't that good. Not the best $35 meal I have had by a long shot. The wild grains were all sage and the veggies were extra oily- seems like a seasoning issue more than anything on that plate. Overall I would go back and might even order the walleye again with the sauce on the side and see if I can sub the sides. I also had the lobster bisque and would order that again (but I would ask for bread). May the ordering and seasoning odds be in your favor!

Simply said, do not go to this establishment. This is a long read but based off the owner's…read moreunprofessional, inaccurate and quite frankly, rude reply to a member of our group who gave a, short and sweet, negative review (on Yelp), it feels necessary to catalog the details. We had a Friday evening reservation and a party of 9. We were seated outside on the patio along the back/side fence area. Our server, Sean (who was lovely and doing his best despite his leadership), greeted us, gave menus and went to get us a round of waters. While waiting and looking through the drink menu, two of us immediately smelled hot garbage. It came in waves so we dealt with it for awhile. The table next to us, who were in the process of cashing out, asked if we could smell it and when we replied yes, were told they had been informed it was a dead animal. We tried to ignore the smell since no one else in our group seemed bothered... Meanwhile, one of our group went in to ask if the bartender could make Espresso Martini's and was told yes. We proceed order 7 martinis, 1 Coke and 3 orders of Fries. All of that came out rather quickly. The Espresso Martinis however, were terrible. They tasted like watered-down coffee mixed with vodka. Not everyone can make an Espresso Martini, let alone a good one, which is why we went to ask (reminder: it's ok to say no if you can't do it). Only 3 out of 7 of even drank them and when we commented about how they tasted, our server apologized and asked if we wanted something else, but in the end we were still charged for all of them. Next, we each order our food, while we wait for the food, the smell is progressively getting worse and now everyone at the table, as well as the table seated adjacent to us, are plugging our noses. They ask to be moved and are, we ask next and are told they have to check. (It's worth noting here that we were NEVER offered to move, we asked to be moved - twice.) The other table (a 6 top) that was seated after us, suddenly gets their food. We ask the chef where our food is, as at this point we're well over an hour into this experience, and he says we have a larger group (yes, 9 is more than 6, but not by a landslide) so it's coming. Ok, odd, but sure thing. Our food starts coming and I personally ask whether we can be moved because the smell is overwhelming at this point. Sean, again, says he has to check. At that point everyone had enough and we told them to bring the remainder of food, the bill and to-go boxes. We settled our bill and left immediately. While I can acknowledge it's really no "fault" of anyone's that an overflowing dumpster just behind the patio wall emits a terrible smell, when several tables have complained and are visibly bothered by it, perhaps lying about it being a dead animal and/or continuing to seat people there is not the best idea. With all that said, our food was fine. Nothing wonderful, nothing terrible. It was cold by the time we ate it because we had to take it home to eat it. Even if the food was the best in the world, the experience would have tarnished it regardless. One of the unfortunate parts about all of this was that I was very excited to try this place after hearing great things over the years. Immediately prior to going, I heard from some locals that it had changed ownership/management and had gone downhill since then. With no prior experience, I would say I have to agree. Furthermore, I had started writing a short and sweet not-so-great review the night it happened but another member of our group posted our experience so I canceled it. Now that the owner had replied to that precious post in such a distasteful manner I've decided to write it again and also post it across all my review platforms since he's already accused us of doing so. I have posted our receipt for clarity on what we ordered and look forward to his comment here since he seems get sassy with everyone who leaves any sort of negative review. A word of advice, sir: perhaps your energy would be better spent offering even a half-assed apology about a bad experience and making any attempt at fixing the issues that are brought to your attention to make your customers actually want to come back instead of watching security cameras, checking time stamps and sitting behind an internet review board making snide comments to those customers making us never even consider returning.

We made a reservation for 13 on a Saturday and they were ready and waiting for us. The table was prepared and two servers greeted us. The restaurant, located inside of the Springbrook Inn, is a bit difficult to describe. Comfortable with some kitsch, a bit of an upscale family restaurant with a reasonable wine list (also reasonable pricing). The menu is not extensive but hits all of the main American items: steak, seafood, pasta, soup and salad. All of the mains were served with mixed vegetables (zucchini, onion, pepper or sans pepper for me as requested) and a potato (which included rice in the category). We did have two vegetarians in the group and the grill was not very vegetarian friendly. They did offer a stuffed red pepper, which luckily both ordered and enjoyed. The rest of the group had a large variety: cajun pasta, steaks, shrimp, perch and my order of ribs. The cajun pasta had a good flavor and was not at all spicy (this could be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences). The only complaint was that only a lone shrimp was found in the dish (the menu did say shrimp, which while suggesting a plural, was not). Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the ribs as was a bit disappointed. The meat was tender but severely over sauced. I also found the sauce to be average. I did really like the sauteed veggies. I would not agree with the other reviews that the food is outstanding. I felt it was good to above average, depending on the item. The service was five stars. Both servers were friendly and engaging, refilling promptly and were responsive in their check ins. My four stars are based on an overall good experience and the service certainly orchestrated this.
