Great breakfast spot located in Elmira. We came here on a Sunday and breakfast is offered all day. We were able to pick our seat. It was busy for a Sunday, which is always a good sign. We started off with coffee and OJ. No espresso machine so you're typical cup of joe. For breakfast, we ordered the crab cake bennie, Greek omelette, and corned beef hash. The crab cake Bennie was so good! I ordered a side of avocado too. Looking at other yelp reviews, the crab cake Bennie may have come with hash browns or fresh fruit in the past. My husband ordered the corned beef hash which was so yummy! My mom got the Greek omelette which she loved. The lunch/dinner menu looked so good. Definitely want to come back for the cabbage lasagna and the meatloaf. The dessert menu sounded delicious too. The Guinness chili are cake with Bailey cream was calling our name but it was sold out. Went to Forx on a blustery night in 2026. Not many people on the roads and not many in the restaurant, but food and service was really good! The husband runs the front of the bar/restaurant and the wife runs the back. We had the pierogis as an app and then I had the meatloaf and the wife had spaghetti and meatballs. All was done really well! And the meatloaf had fresh asparagus as a side! We were undecided about dessert, so the wife came out to explain the desserts - we selected the coconut cream cake and it was really good. The food was good little pricey I ordered chicken Parmesan. It doesn't come with no sides. You don't get a salad or soup. I felt like there was enough marinara on my linguine so I asked for a little bit more didn't realize they charged me four dollars for a very small amount and I asked for Parmesan. I was expecting granulated Parmesan that comes with spaghetti normally they gave me fresh Parmesan. They charged me two dollars for that their desserts are delicious but $14 for a piece of cake is a little pricey. I would go back but I definitely would order off the lunch menu and I would not be getting any dessert asking for anything extra they should let people know that they're gonna charge for anything extra that you ask for and the amount they're gonna charge before they bring it, I was a little disappointed. We got here after spending some time at Boyne Mountain and trying to find some good diner food. My husband loves this place. They are proud of their menu and everything is homemade. My husband got the special of the day, a prime steak open sandwich, and I got the Walleye. The steak sandwich is excellent, while the Walleye is a bit oily. Our family made a phone order, which was great, the person was polite and helpful. So I cannot testify to their ambiance. This is mostly for their food. My "medium" cheese burger was charcoal, it was literally crumbling as I was eating it. Taste: meh. Pulled pork sandwich, delicious. Trifecta, meh... you decide if it's worth it. It takes a lot for me to review a restaurant because usually they aren't worth the time and effort. I can almost always walk away saying "I could have made that and probably made it better". Forx changes that! INSANE food. Everything is homemade and you can actually taste the soul of the person cooking. It's not some teenager in the back dumping something into a deep fryer. It is someone with an insane passion for making food the way they would want it to taste. The result is astounding. Great service, very timely, very attentive. Restaurant is cool, low key, not noisy. It's all about the food. Forx serves high end food you'd expect from a much bigger City, in an unassuming rural pass through town. After hitting the Skybridge at Boyne Mountain, we were heading toward Gaylord on M-32. We were NOT looking forward to the same old chain restaurants in town but thought that's all there was ahead. Passing through Elmira, I almost blinked and missed this place. I'd much rather risk my dinner at a local diner than have the same old stuff I could get at Any Other Town, USA. This could have been one of the best dinner choices I've made in a long long time. I believe the owner said they'd only been open since May (2023). It's not a big place, but it's very clean, and very friendly. Within minutes I felt more like a local than an out-of-towner. I ordered myself a Trifecta which is a blend of bison and lamb, topped with bacon. My GF got a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw and Carolina mustard. We close things out with a slice of Andes chocolate mint cake. Like I said, the place was spotless, including the bathrooms. The prices were what I would expect, and certainly worthwhile. I don't know where they got their recipes from, or if she came up with them on her own, but she certainly has perfected them. My only complaints are that this place is too far from home, and that slice of cake was way too big for the two of us!! I'm definitely stopping by if I'm even remotely in the area. read more

My fiancé and I lucked out because we were going to Railside for our normal Thursday night meatloaf special, but they were randomly closed. Ended up here at Forx and do not regret it at all! In fact, we've already been back since then! The service was awesome (we sat at the bar), and the food was INCREDIBLE. This a a cool place tucked away in a small pass thru town- decor it fun and open friendly atmosphere. I have been meaning to stop here since they opened and I shouldn't have waited so long- lots to drink and a very unique menu with plenty for all walks, I didn't eat but my son that travels everywhere and eats with me every type of food went with the Patty Melt and said it was extremely good. We live in Gaylord and have passed by Forx dozens of times and FINALLY made it a point to stop in. We happened to get there during happy hour. We had the meatloaf and the gorognzola burger. The mashed potatoes were heavenly and the chipotle gravy was to die for. The sweet potato fries and burger were delicious and the burger was cooked medium as requested. We seldom eat dessert, but we HAD to have a piece of the homemade red velvet cake with peanut butter frosting. OMG....that is all! The service was excellent, even thought they did fill up during happy hour. The owner introduced himself and welcomed us back. We gave him our roaring feedback. We are definitely going back for their Saturday prime rib special---can't wait! It's always a good meal at Forx. The Cobb salad, Philly egg rolls, country fried steak (with a touch of chipotle) and cabbage lasagna are some of my favorites. Omigosh! What a great discovery! Our group of eleven went there for dinner last night when the place we intended to go to couldn't seat us. Things couldn't have worked out better. They pushed tables together for us got drink orders in a hurry. The menu is extensive and creative. The wings were a great app. Big and perfectly don. My Bison/Lamb burger was fantastic. Wow!!! So glad to have this restaurant open and so close to our up north home. We walked in and were greeted by the friendliest waitress I've ever had. The inside is very cute and cozy. Looks like they have a selection of beers, wine and alcohol. I had read the reviews prior to coming so I knew a few of the things I wanted to try. My husband got the Rueben and onion rings along with a bowl of their mushroom soup. All three were amazing!!! My daughter got a burger and fries and that was also amazing. Some of the best fries I've ever had and served in a cute basket. The smoked wings were so tender and juicy, they were smoked and so delicious. The crab Rangoon were also a hit!!
