In comes...Moren Watch Repair....these guys are fast, reliable and always do great work. I walked in and was greeted by Luis, the proprietor. I explained my issue of needing a band adjustment, got a sizing recommendation from Luis, handed over the watch and took a seat. I heard a couple of...clank...clanks...tink...tinks....Nervous!?? Heck Yeah...the watch band was really nice and let's not talk about the expensive body of the Apple Watch! But, no less than 5 minutes, I received my watch back with no scratches and the perfect fit. This is the second time visiting Moren Watch Repair. During my first visit, I brought in my favorite, vintage TAG Heuer. It was in dire need need of a face work, a new battery and tightening of a numeral position. At that time, I was about to send it off to someone in California, whom I found online and did not know, but claimed they were a specialist in TAG Heuer watches. This did not sit well with me. It was then a good friend recommended Moren, and I am so glad they did. I was able to talk to them directly about my watch issues, ask many questions, and drill them on the many nuances of a TAG Heuer. To my suprise, these guys were very knowledgeable and explained a few things even I did not know about the watch. Thus, I gave them the work. The servicing took two days. In the end, I received my watch back looking brand spanking new, working in great condition and no damage. Talk about in need of an efficient watch repair place that does the job, this place is it. The prices are not as cheap, but you get what you pay for....especially if you are looking for someone to trust with your favorite or most expensive timepieces. The owners of this shop are fantastic! Great customer service and very approachable. They are very nice, helpful, and honest. Also, they perform jewelry repairs and resell collector watch/jewelry items as well. They are patient in answering questions and give great advice. Not to mention, watching their skillfully deft hands and craftsmanship repair watches is an incredible sight to see. Watchmaking and repair is truly a rare and fading art form....due to the digital age, tech watches...yes admittedly like my Apple Watch...lol....fitbits, modern electronics and digital hand watches. It is great to see places like this are still around. At one point, I tried on a ring with a gold band and mentioned that I'm typically more of a silver-toned jewelry person. Her response was that everything is customizable and that I was "just trying bands on." I understand that the rings are customizable. I wasn't confused about that--I was simply expressing my preference and trying to understand what I liked and didn't like. It's difficult to explain how upsetting the overall interaction was because it wasn't just one comment. It was the entire energy of the appointment. I felt rushed. I felt like we were inconveniencing her. I felt uncomfortable asking questions. And instead of leaving excited about potentially finding my engagement ring, I left questioning whether I had done something wrong. I completely understand that we were late. We took responsibility for that. But if the remaining 30 minutes wasn't enough time for Bri to provide us with a welcoming and respectful experience, we should have simply been told that we needed to reschedule. We would have understood. What I don't understand is why we were allowed to continue with the appointment only to be made to feel like our presence was a burden. This was supposed to be a memory I looked back on fondly. This was the first step in choosing something that I may wear for the rest of my life, and I wanted to feel excited, supported, and celebrated. Instead, I walked out of Brilliant Earth feeling hurt and honestly dreading the idea of continuing the ring-shopping process. I don't expect someone helping me shop for an engagement ring to know exactly what I want when I walk through the door. That's literally why I'm there. I expect patience. I expect kindness.
