I am SO shocked at just how incredible my meal at Fossetta was! This spot is tiny and unassuming but had some of the best food and drinks I've had. The Ida's Cure cocktail is basically a strawberry lemon drop martini and is a must-order. To eat, they have a great selection of Focaccias to try - the classic olive oil & sea salt and the ricotta & hot honey are both fabulous with very different flavor profiles. I believe their menu is updated and it NEEDS to stay as is, because their pastas were to die for: the rigatoni vodka is actually some of the best I've had in the city which is BIG because I have high standards, and their londa alla primavera was so flavorful and full of veggies. I found Fossetta while down on the Lower East Side yesterday and glad that I did. :) The restaurant had a very nice ambiance and the staff was very pleasant. I was seated immediately (as it was a cold Sunday evening). I ordered a glass of the Bramosia "Chianti Classico". Nice. Then had the Bucatini all'Amatriciana which came with a spice sauce and guanciale. Excellent. Ordered some olive oil & sea salt focaccia to mop up the remaining sauce. So good. Fossetta for brunch on the Sunday after the holidays have finished. People in the city were gearing up for the work week and work year for that matter - 2026 is here. Made a resrvation via OpenTable a few days prior and there was plenty of availability. When we arrived for our reservation, the place was packed. It's small, possibly a converted garage as they have the large, garage door at the front window - I'm assuming they open this during the warmer day. I will say, they certainly pack the tables closely, to the point where the wait staff came over to our table with food & drinks on two separate occasions and went to give our food/drink to the table next to, (on top of/part of) our table. No big deal to us, but if you're looking to have a cozy & intimate conversation with someone, this may not be ideal for you. The food was great. I went with a classic - 2 eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes, avocado & toast. A simple dish, but executed very well. My friends got the pancake. It was fluffy & had good flavor according to them. An oat cappuccino along with a Bloody Mary were also ordered - both good, but nothing standout. I've heard the pasta dishes at Fossetta are very good. I was disappointed with the touted ricotta and hot honey focaccia. I found it dry and a bit too crunchy, and the "hot honey" just seemed to be honey with crushed red pepper flakes. I did enjoy my polenta with soft poached eggs, and my friend said the pancake was fluffy in the inside and crispy on the outside. Service was fine. Came here for a birthday brunch, and I loved how open the space was and how the light came in through the garage door walls. The staff was really sweet and let me and my friends stay at the table for a pretty long time both when deciding what to order as well as staying for a time after we finished eating. I liked the apple butter on top though! This was sharable, and all 5 of us were able to share one. The STAR of Fossetta is that foccacia. I loved both the ricotta and hot honey one that we ordered for appetizer as well as the foccacia that came with the two eggs. It's crunchy but soft and has some kind of butter on it maybe? I don't know, but not questioning it because it was so good. Otherwise, I liked the home fries. There is a definite oil that coats all the food, though. Super cute little spot! Almost felt like it should have been in Brooklyn vs Manhattan - very cool vibes. Nomz: Started with the focaccia with olive oil and sea salt. I finally made it to Fossetta on Saturday after having it bookmarked forever, and I'm so glad I did. They've got an awesome happy hour with both great drinks and food. Beautiful restaurant in the LES with tons of natural lighting! Went in for brunch right when they opened and the restaurant was empty. The pancake was delicious and one of the best I've had. It had a soft interior with a chewy crust and the apple sauce added the perfect sweetness. Really enjoyed the rigatoni too. I made reservations for their bar via OpenTable. The place had an airy, relaxed vibe and featured a great selection of music; 80s hits were playing that night. We chose Fossetta because it offered two of the dishes we were craving: lasagna and pork chops, both of which were incredible! Their lasagna reminded me of how it's served in Rome - simple, not overloaded with cheese, and you could tell that love was put into the sauce between the layers. The pork chops were tender and juicy, accompanied by cabbage, which was the perfect complement. They also had an interesting wine selection; Alex helped me choose a crisp, dry white from the Basque region that I really enjoyed. We ended our evening with classic tiramisu and coffee. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll definitely return next time we visit the Lower East Side. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to expand their whiskey selection. This place is so cute. Kind of small but just enough space I think. The tables are a bit small don't bring a lot to put on it honestly but they open up the space during brunch which is when I came. I ordered the 2 eggs with bacon and house potatoes. I have zero complaints. The eggs were cooked just how I like them, the bacon wasn't too crispy which I like and the potatoes were crispy! Yay! You'd be surprised how many places don't crisp their house potatoes. It came with two long pieces of focaccia toast. Now, onto the only disappointment I have: the pancake. I read how the texture of the pancake is similar bread pudding which is false. It tastes almost like cake and not a pancake but even still I didn't like it. It was a bit dry and nothing special. Overall a pretty decent experience. Upon walking in the mood is very charming. Dining room is lightly lit and plenty of tables. Also the music selection room was top top tier. We were told the chef was in charge of the music and I must say it made our experience beyond special. Food was pretty good, I highly recommend the Caesar Salad, ricotta/honey focaccia, and the lasagna ( Asparagus fritto was mid unfortunately). We visited for Sunday brunch/lunch. It's a small space with an 'outdoors meets the indoors' style, reminiscent of a European summer. We started with a foccacia for the table with ricotta and honey and it was delicious. Came here on a Sat night with a 645p reservation. It wasn't very busy so I got to sit wherever there was a booth. The booth seat is only one side of a 4 seat table. The venue is medium sized with only a couple of 4 seat tables and several 2 seat options with a long bar. For food we tried the marinated octopus, ricotta and honey focaccia, garlic cream focaccia, as apps. For mains I got the bucatini pasta, and my brother got the lamb. The pork chops were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The pasta was a bit on the blander side a for the tomato sauce but the pasta was cooked just right. Didn't really taste the chili flakes. At the end of the night, it would have been nice if they had served dessert, but we left satiated. Price-wise it was not too bad for NYC prices today with 70$pp, each having gotten a drink. Great spacious new place on Allen St and Houston. We unexpectedly stopped by here after drinks elsewhere at around 7ish on a Friday night. Even though we were a party of six, we were able to be seated. So it seems like a good place for large groups. We had just missed happy hour. The drinks were ok. The food was pretty good. Lovely ladies lunch with some gal friends here a few weeks ago! On a dreary Sunday afternoon several of us gathered for a meal--the restaurant was only about 40% full at 1pm, probably due to the pouring rain. The front of the restaurant can open out to the sidewalk on a sunny day though they kept it closed for obvious reasons that day. Inside a cozy atmosphere greets you--a wood-paneled bar with plentiful seats directly at the bar, portions of exposed red brick wall, bistro-style small tables mixed with some banquet seating. Staff was friendly, helpful and attentive--they waited for the entire party to arrive, gave us time to peruse the menu and answered our questions rgding multiple items, also taking time to check out a couple food allergies. Food came out pretty quickly with exception of the pancakes which they did share with us at point of ordering that those would take longer due to the style of pancake (my guess being they needed to beat egg whites and cook these very gently). We ordered and shared: - focaccia with ricotta and hot honey ($13) x2: very popular, the texture of the focaccia was spot on, pillowy with a moderate crust and nice chew. The creamy ricotta was sprinkled with some chilli spice to break up the richness, and honey to add a sweet touch. - focaccia with garlic cream and fontina ($11): same bread base with cheese melted on top, kinda like a fancy but lighter version of garlic bread. - shashuka ($18): came served in a mini cast iron pan, with two slices of grilled buttered focaccia on the side. Tomato base was tasty, though the eggs were a bit on the runny side for me. - fosetta pancake ($16 +4 for berries) x2: each serving is a large, fluffy single pancake with nutella and sprinkled with powdered sugar, served with a side of maple syrup. Lovely and not too sweet. - Caesar salad ($17): solid rendition of this, simple house-made dressing with balanced dressing to lettuce ratio. - meatballs ($16) x2: one of their specialties here and I can see why. Three balls per serving topped with shaved Parmesan. Proper moistness and texture--not too soft nor dry. - fosetta burger and fries ($25): I didn't try this personally though looked like a pretty good-sized burger served with plentiful fries. The food was good, but the service was terrible. The waitress was extremely hostile to our table because we didn't order entrees for every person at the table and seemed outwardly disappointed that only three guests ordered alcoholic beverages, making the non-drinkers feel unwelcome. As we placed our mix of appetizers and mains, the server told us, "I'm confused," and insisted she was "ready for entrees" when we had already finished our order. Her delivery made us feel as though our ordering style was a nuisance to her. To cap off the night, a rigatoni dish was served incorrectly. When we pointed this out, the server gave my friend more attitude rather than simply acknowledging the two different preparations available on the menu and resolving the mix-up. I rarely write negative reviews, but had to share my experience. It's a shame because the food here was delicious, but I definitely won't be coming back again or recommending it to others. read more

loved the vibes, it's open air but you don't feel like you're in new york at all. i can see myself after work or on a saturday sipping wine and catching up with friends. we split two apps, two pastas and paid $31 incl. tax and tip, which is a literal steal!! the focaccia was LITERALLY TO DIE FOR, the ricotta was so creamy and had just the right hint of salt and black pepper. the olive oil was super fragrant and did wonders with the hot honey. believe me i could've eaten all three pieces myself. we also got the marinated octopus because there was a special promotion: again, the olive oil with the pickled onions, garlic, and calabrian chili was really delicious; i could've done without the octopus since it was a tad too tough. i had high hopes for the chicken liver rigatoni since everyone on beli was raving about it--and it was better than i expected, as a confirmed liver hater--but it wasn't revolutionary. all in all, i applaud the idea and i don't regret paying for the novelty, but i don't see myself craving it again. no notes on the pesto pasta: it tasted like spring and i loved the snowflaked parmiggiano with the squash ribbons and tender pea shoots. definitely can tell that they used quality ingredients. even bella, a self-proclaimed basil hater enjoyed it! also something to note about their pasta-- definitely fresh, you can taste the sweetness of the wheat. the texture was also phenomenal, a perfect balance between silky soft and al dente. read more

The restaurant has a fairly rustic but also urban vibe as the venue is set in what looks to be a former garage. The place is pretty dimly lit and isn't too loud. The servers at Fossetta were very nice but it was a bit on the slow end. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because it an opening weekend night and it seems like they were working out some kinks. Otherwise, no other complaints. For food I thought it was a little hit or miss. We shared the porchetta, all'amatriciana, marinated octopus, and focaccia. I thought the octopus and porchetta were great and the simplicity and presentation really allowed the quality of ingredients sing. The all'amatriciana was fairly standard but good. Coming out of retirement just to solely say the PORK FOCACCIA SANDWICH IS SO GOOD OMG. The pork inside is really tender and juicy with the right amount of fattiness. The foccacia is crispy but substantial enough to hold the sandwich together. And the sauce and spreads inside work together beautifully.
