Absolutely delicious! Everything was so flavorful and prepared perfectly. The focaccia & ricotta, and tagliatelle Alfredo were my favorites. The pizza was also amazing you can never go wrong with brick oven. The dim lighting and ambiance make it perfect for a girls night or a date night. The service was great, and I highly recommend making a reservation since it does get really busy. We were seated at the bar, which we didn't mind at all.

We finally made it to Emporio, and overall it was a solid night out. We did not have a reservation, so they let us know upfront we had about an hour and a half to eat. That was more than enough time. We were done with about 20 minutes to spare, and honestly we could have been out even sooner. The one thing that slowed us down was waiting on the check, but even with that we had time to breathe. Staff was friendly throughout. The space is cozy, and by cozy I mean they pack a lot of tables in there. It is tight. There were some noisy kids nearby but they were happy kids, so it was okay. Happy kids are tolerable kids. Now for the food. The pizza was good, but I have to be fair to myself here. I went in expecting that deep smoky char you get from a brick oven, and Emporio is actually a Roman style wood fired pizza. Two different things. That is on me for mixing them up. Once I checked their website and saw what it actually was, I had to recalibrate. For what it is, the pizza was good. A little on the softer side, but tasty. My expectations were just pointed in the wrong direction. The real star of the night was the rigatoni pasta. Wifey's choice, and she was right. Al dente, well seasoned, and honestly it outshined everything else on the table. That one is a must order. The octopus was also excellent. It had that smoky flavor we both love and it delivered. No complaints there at all. And the ginger beer? Potent. You have been warned. If I go back, and I think I will, I am going in with the right expectations this time. Skip the assumptions, order the pasta, get the octopus, and grab a ginger beer if you are feeling brave.

Fabuloso! This was our first stop for our Foods of NY Tour with Bert. We watched as they made pizza from scratch with fresh dough, basil, mozzarella, and prosciutto. The pizza was paired with a small glass of red wine and amazing new friends hailing from down under. We also learned that our tour guide has had a Leo (swoon) sighting here in the past. In general though, the vibes at Emporio are top notch. I'd definitely come back for a full experience with more of that delicious pizza.

Came here as I was craving pasta and we were super hungry from shopping. Cute decor and good service but food was okay. The pasta in my eggplant pasta was not at all Al dente-- I felt like giving it back. But I was already hungry. The sauce was spectacular. The Alfredo pasta was good but nothing to talk home about.

An underrated brunch spot in the heart of soho! Have been here many times and each time I've been greeted with the same amazing food, service and hospitality. Came here for a brunch with a couple of my gfs and it did not disappoint. The back room has a skylight that makes the restaurant light up and feel like you're not in NY (in a good way). Steak and eggs with chimichurri and waffles with blueberry sauce were standout brunch dishes. Their pizzas and pastas are just as amazing! You can't go wrong with anything here. Will be coming here again so soon!!

I forgot to take a photo of the food because I was in the moment and REALLG wanted to eat. It was so tasty. My bestie and I shared the squid ink spaghetti and branzino. Both were very good. If I had to choose one though I would choose the branzino. I'm obsessed with the green and white sauce the chefs made for it. Both dishes were very balanced with the right amount of sauce, veggies, and seafood. The tiramisu espresso martini I had was very cute. But the alcohol was strong. I wish it had more flavor vs a lot of alcohol but still appreciate everything and the presentation. It was still good. For dessert we shared we shared an orange cake with ice cream. It was wonderful. I wish I had tried more desserts but I was so full. The service was excellent. Our server was so kind and checked in with us regularly. Would totally go back

Everything was perfection. Best bolognese i ever had. The hugo spritz was so good as well. Will definitely be returning

    Spicy Sopressata

Happy hour is only available at the bar and ends at 6 p.m., which I didn't realize at first. The pizza from the happy hour menu was noticeably smaller than the regular menu version. I ordered the spicy soppressa on the bartender's recommendation -- it was okay. We later moved to the dining room and ordered two pastas. Both were decent, but the rigatoni was undercooked -- it was hard and chewy, which made it less enjoyable. Overall, an average experience. I will come here again.

Enjoyed all the dishes including dessert but I did not get to take a photo of the panna cotta. Lovely bright spacious back room. Only issue was that we discovered not till we were back home that the waitress charged us for 2 desserts we did not order. It was busy and she was the only server and a couple of times food was mistakenly almost brought to our tables which leads me to believe she was inputting wrong in the rush. Otherwise lovely brunch and food.

Such a lovely dining experience! The restaurant felt intimate and the aesthetics were on point. I visited with a friend and we left very impressed. The appetizers and drinks were the stars of the show for us. Everything came out quickly and the ingredients were super high quality. The pasta and the pizza were also incredibly delicious. I would absolutely visit again. It's perfect for a date night or even a special occasion! The photos don't do the food justice.

A fantastic spot in SoHo! I went with a very large group, which we split into two parties of 8, but even a week in advance we had no problem getting two reservations for 6pm on a Friday night. They have plenty of space! The atmosphere was moody and sophisticated and the service was fast and efficient. The drinks were a hit - I got the Emporio Gin & Tonic, which was tasty and not too sweet. As for dinner, we split a bunch of pizzas which were excellent. The spicy sopressata was by far the best, so flavorful and not too spicy. This was followed closely by the classic pepperoni - Emporio makes a great pizza sauce! We also got the mushroom pizza and stracciatella de burrata, which were good but were slightly lacking in flavor. Overall a great experience, I will certainly back and next time would love to try the pasta!

Divine experience. Not only is this a gorgeous restaurant with a beautiful skylight style roof in the back, but their food and service are top notch. The kale Brussel sprout salad is a MUST, and pastas are just as exquisite. Definitely a new NYC favourite of mine. Can't wait to be back!!

We had a wonderful lunch at Emporio today. We started with the Mott Street Old Fashioned. We shared the focaccia with ricotta cheese and honey. It was perfect. Then we shared the cacio e pepe. Wonderfully peppery with the right amount of oil and Parmesan. Maribel was our wonderful waitress. Prompt and friendly. For dessert we had the Tiramisu Espresso Martini. So good. This is our second visit to this restaurant. We will be back again. Thank you, Maribel, for a memorable lunch. We highly recommend Emporio!

Particularly the penne funghi is to die for. Tried the linguine vongole clam pasta for the first time and was pretty good as well! Just wish there was more sauce and the clams were the tiniest size I've seen which was disappointing and to make matters worse, a good 1/3 of them were empty. Besides that, the meal was delightful and still great value as it was delicious with huge portions! Love! However, service at this particular branch is nowhere near as good as other branches. I understand it's busy and it's always incredibly crowded with people and cramped seating and loud music/voices but this was like no other. When I arrived party of 2, they had nearly 5 tables empty and yet we couldn't sit at any of them because the had to wait for reservations to see if they arrived and we had to wait 15 min but they said they'd let us know. We were forced to sit at the bar which the giant metal can of alcohol bottles took up 1/2 my seating/dining area and no one bothered to move it or ask if that was okay because obviously it wasn't but the didn't care. We waited awhile for the food to come and during that time we asked if there really wasn't any table availability since tables clearly open and the denied again even though reservations never came. Literally 3 tables remains consistently empty throughout our entire dining experience confined to the cramped bar area. They even closed the door, separating the outdoor diners which was weird and it became insufferably hot inside, even on a cold windy day. Bathroom situation here is also terrible as it is downstairs with steep narrow stairs and me and other customers almost bumped into each other and staff carrying multitude of food dishes and dirty dishes up and down the stairs. Never have I ever had such an undelightful experience going to bathroom at a restaurant. Additionally, sink water pressure either had no water coming out or a giant spray of water making it impossible to wash hands without getting a whole shower. This location really needs work. Only reason why I'm not giving it five stars is because I love Fumo as a whole. Just skip this location.

We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified.
