My friend and I stopped in here for pink & white acrylic nails and french tip pedicures. The salon has several pedi chairs and it looked like a normal salon. Well, my friends acrylics turned out great and mine turned out like crap. I had the younger guy doing my nails and my friend had the old man doing hers. He really took his time filing and shaping her nails because he really took pride in his work whereas the younger guy tried to work as quickly as possible to move onto the next customer. Also, I specifically asked for just pink & white acrylics but because 'gel nails' are the new fad they kept asking if I wanted them and every time they offered I politely declined. When the manicurist guy went to put on what I thought was a topcoat, it turned out to be a GEL topcoat. I didn't ask for it and by the time I realized, my hands were already in the uv dryer. UGH! SO pushy with gel! Plus they charged me $13 extra for that! They call it a full gel set but its really acrylic nails with a gel topcoat, such a scam!!! So when my nails were done and the owner lady was looking at my nails with me, I told her that the sides were very thick and uneven, and all I wanted was some more shaping and filing (with the drill thing) to make them look like nails and not flat duck bills. A simple request to have something easily fixed yet there was a bunch of yelling in korean and then the guy came back and filed only the tips of my nails (which were fine!) and put oil on my cuticles. WHAT? I left the shop with my lump side nails and I'm going to fix them at home. Thanks for charging me so much to do an incomplete job! If you do want to get acrylics, have the older man do them!! The younger guy has no idea what he's doing! On a side note, the lady who did my pedicure did an excellent job. She really took her time to groom my cuticles and nail bed and the massage was relaxing. Plus she threw on a hot towel on my calves! I'm so angry at this place. I dropped my two teenagers off there and told the owner we want 2 of their $25 manicures. No gel, the cheap manicure. I walk out for 15 minutes to get Starbucks. I come back, everything is going great...the owners seems nice. When it comes time to pay, I hand her $60. $25 x 2= $50 + $10 tip. She looks at me and says "No it's $90. We asked them after you left if they want deluxe and they said yes so it's $90." I look at the girls like...wth did you agree to. And they speak up "We asked you if that was $25 for deluxe and you said yes." I argued with her saying..."why would you ask them, I have the cash, I told you what they wanted. Why are you trying to up-sell two innocent teenagers?" I should have said take the $60 or call the cops... but I paid her. And the thing is it's the girls money. I just was holding it for them. They had big plans with that money this week and this place stole some of that from them. To the owners of this place I hope you read this. I came as a walk in on an early Monday morning. There was only one customer being serviced by 2 manicurst. I was greeted by Cathy with, "what you need?" I requested a full set but the response was delayed as to question if there was time for me. She paused , looked around and said, "ok I guess." I told her that I would like a typical set thin , round square tips like hers(which I said several times.) She would not file down the acrilic. She would not round off the square edges. The acrilic is put on in a sloppy manner and does not fully cover each nail. The tips are ready separating from the nail. Neither were filed well. The sides of my nails are jagged. When she asked what color I wanted I said clear because I didn't have the time to wait for drying. She offered to use gel paint. I asked how much? She paused with an audible ...ummmm then quoted $15. Seriously!??!?To paint and uv Ray dry. Robbery. Glad I chose clear because she was unable to even cover my complete set with that. She did a terrible job and I know that I will need to have the set replaced. read more

I read a few of the lower rating reviews before going in and saw what some people talked about, but I don't think those things are reason enough to write a one-star review. The atmosphere is really laid back, and the staff is open to joking with you and keeping it very casual (while maintaining high quality). I went in for a full set and a pedicure and I'm more than satisfied. The pedicure went a little quick for my liking, but I did just get the basic pedicure and I'm still happy with the shape of my toenails. My manicurist (Andy) gave my acrylics an incredible amount of attention. At first, I was micromanaging him on the shape, and he laughed (as mentioned previously in reviews) and told me that he wasn't finished yet. Fair! Someone who makes a living doing nails probably knows what he's doing and doesn't need you to coach him through the whole process. Just give the man some time and he will give you exactly the nail shape you're looking for. My nails look really natural; they aren't too thick and don't flare out at the edges. I went with two of my friends, and one got a gel mani on her natural nail and gel pedi. She said, "This is the first time I've left a salon 100% happy with the shape of my nail." I got my nails done here on Friday. I got a gel manicure done and they started falling peeling off by Tuesday. Went in to get them re-done for a second time on Wednesday. They started peeling off today. Even when I got them done they had bumps and polish wasn't even on the nail. The manicurist (the owner) was giving me attitude about having to re-do my nails and felt like she was doing a careless job on purpose. Even when the gel polish peeled off, my nails looked perfectly normal and not all peeled as it normally would if the gel peeled off this early. I would definitely not recommend this place at all. They went above and beyond in terms of service. It was Friday night at 6:50 pm and my two co-workers and I were in desperate need of a manicure and pedicure. Our usual nail salon turned us away because they closed at 7 pm. Forum Salon also closed at 7 pm however, they kept the salon open for us and even called in an extra manicurist to help out. All three of us got manicures and pedicures. We weren't done until close to 9 pm, which meant they stayed two hours after their normal closing time on a Friday night. They never complained nor rushed us. I got french tips on my nails - they lasted for a week and a half. The polish job on my toes lasted for over two weeks. Their polish skills were impeccable and meticulously done. The pricing is on par with other nail salons in the area. The salon is clean and well kept. This salon is out of my way however, I'm totally willing to make the drive to the downtown area for this salon. Next time, I'll even make it during regular business hours. read more

Wish I could have given a zero. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE EVER. I asked for a new full set as I don't like the natural nail under my acrylics to be showing. The woman who greeted me said "no you have set on, we will do a fill" I agreed thinking that I would save some sort of headache by agreeing, but I was VERY wrong. She proceeded to grind off the paint and ALL of the previous acrylic. After doing so she put the smallest amount of over lay. When we started I asked the cost of a fill, 35 dollars(apparently for the base price as you'll see later) which is ridiculous when a full set new is 40. I informed her I wanted my nails to be thicker and she told me "no it's a fill I don't put any more on, just fill the bottom" uhm what? At this point I was not going to come back but it gets worse. As I stared previously I asked the price for my set after I told her how long I wanted them and that I wanted gel, when we were finished she told me the price was 40. I refused to pay the 40 because she said 35 to begin with and she eventually lowered the price because I reminded her that I had asked midset and she knew what I wanted and I hadn't added anything extra. To top it off the nails bulge out on the edges and dip in on the middle and are shaped horribly. The original shape from a different shop was still good and they were thick before I came in and I left with badly shaped, brittle nails that were WAY overpriced. This place is definitely NOT worth the money. Terrible customer service. I went in with two of my girlfriends, all three of us wanting pedicures. I got some petite young girl who was rude the entire time. Giving evil glares, and sped through the entire thing. I was done 15 minutes before my friends and had to sit there and wait while they were having theirs finished. As soon as the girl was done with me she went and sat in a chair, put her headphones in and played around on her laptop. Allow me to say that this salon is wonderfully decorated and set up. There is a very "peaceful" vibe and the environment gives out the RELAXATION time. Or in other words- PERFECT FOR ME TIME. The young lady was more than willing to help find the gel color I was searching for. I went in for a mani and full set with gel polish for the grand total of $40. Not bad, right? Well, let me tell you what I walked out with.. A full set of acrylic nails that were in that awkward duck shape-very wide on the tips. NO MANICURE. The gel polish and acrylic powder were very bumpy and thick. The nails were not filed down evenly. To make matters worse, my cuticles or the skin surrounding my nail bed (nail folds of skin) numerous have cuts caused by the machine they use to sand your nail. AND now that the acrylic powder has chipped off- WELL I will be needing a refill within the same week and a manicure to remove the cuticles and dried skin. Did I mention that I went back and requested that the nails be filed, thinned and a polish change in the same day? The nailist who originally worked on my full set agreed to fix it for free. Except he was laughing at me the majority of the time. He insisted that I was consistently rushing him when all I asked was if he believed we would be finished by 1:15. Each time I asked him to please refrain from scrapping my skin with the machine he would laugh and proceed to sand the nail. I asked him to allow me to wash my hands so as not to infect the cuts that had blood and he stated that it was not blood that it was oil from the machine. Instead, he searched inside the trash can he had beside him and removed a small nail buffer and used it to buff out the nail.. Yes the trash can.. He didn't separate the acrylic powder from my skin so I am still struggling to remove the acrylic powder from my skin. The nails looked better than the first time. But, at what cost: $40, full set acrylics with gel polish, no manicure and the need for a refill in the same week? I am so disappointed. I truly regret getting my nails done at this location. Wonderful service! Love Boscoe and the girls. Boscoe builds the best acrylic nails I have EVER had. EVER. He is very knowledgeable about nail care and gives great advice. He checks with you every step of the way to make sure you like the shape/length, color, etc. He and the staff are incredibly accommodating. Boscoe even started on my acrylics while I was getting a pedicure! Who does that?! I felt super pampered and taken care of. The first time I went to Forum I was not happy (that manicurist has since been let go). I mentioned to Boscoe that I'd hated my nails due to shape and lifting. He said, (and I quote) "If you are ever unhappy with your nails for any reason, Come back and tell us exactly what you don't like and we'll fix it on the spot. The person that did my Mani and pedi didn't remove the polish he got on my skin around my nails after he painted them. Filing my nails some nails were longer than others and one nail was filed square and the other side was rounded. Also nail polish started to chip the next day. I think the prices went up too. I once so enjoyed coming to this salon. Close to work which was perfect. Pedi's were especially nice. One gentleman, Mr T was just too cocky, and had a continuous could care less attitude. I had experienced him at least 3 times too many. Seemed bothered by the work. I went there for the longest time, and was most satisfied. I had the nicest man doing my pedicure on one occasion, when the lead person put this most arrogant person to do my fill. At the pedi chair where he had me all contorted, and did the worst job ever. Purposely I felt. The person at my feet could see that his work was less than. i went in for a regular acrylic fill and a polish change on my toes. i had long nails when i came in..but they only fill in the empty space ..they don't cover the entire nail in acrylic powder, but i was charged an extra 6 dollars because my nails were long which he actually filed down. so that extra 6 dollar charge didn't make sense. he cut me a few times when using the drill and my nails are uneven! he also did my polish change on my toes, which came out clumpy!
