Lunch special - pork with green beans
Mike V.

The food may be a treasure, but will not cost you a fortune. Family owned, fast and fresh flavors. Eat in with inside and outside seating, or call ahead and get an order for pickup. Large portions, great flavors and fresh ingredients. Sit down lunch comes with egg drop soup, your entree, rice or fried rice and wontons. I have enjoyed all my meals and I think you will as well. Close to the Grand Theatre, stop in before your next downtown adventure

A treasure and beloved family-owned gem that has been in downtown Tracy for years! My family has been enjoying mei mei for many years. My sister lives in Lathrop and comes one a week to have lunch on Saturday for the past 20 years! She invited me last weekend to join her, and I was pleasantly surprised. Fresh, fast and high quality food with superb customer service! The owner welcomes everyone with such joy, he remembers all the locals orders by heart, and goes above and beyond for all! Lightening speed but no compromise on the quality or taste. This is my new Bay Area favorite for excellent Chinese food!

On my quest to find the perfect fried rice, tried this spot while visiting friends. Rice had good flavor but rice was mushy very soft, I am used to my rice having a slight bit of chew. I couldn't finish it Salt and pepper shrimp was ok. Looked like frozen shrimp to me. No ambiance inside restaurant, looks like lost orders are to go

After visiting the farmers market today, I decided to step in to have lunch there. I ordered a Combination Chao Fun. The food came back with a good portion. Price is reasonable but the food is very salty and this is obvious just to look at the color of Chao Fun, too much the sauce. I don't know that if this a one time kind thing when the cook is drunk or it is always salty as this is my first time there. I would want to continue to support a local business but the cook needs to pay attention to what he puts in to the food for people to eat if he cares. Unless the customer ordered rice to eat with the Chao Fun, there is no way you cannot eat the food with this amount of sauce.

Decent Chinese takeout. Nothing spectacular to write home about, but not bad either. You get quite a bit of food for the price, but I was also hoping they'd be moderately better than Panda Express. When I showed up to pickup my takeout, an employee was sitting out front smoking a cigarette; not exactly the most enticing attribute. No one was dining in when I showed up on a Wednesday night, so I couldn't get a good feeling for the ambiance...but the restaurant felt inviting and cozy inside. I ordered a combo plate for dinner with garlic fried chicken, which was mostly breading/ batter heavy; would come back to order another entree and see if it was any better.

My dad bought some way back in the day when it was Orient Express. I agree with others its the best Chinese food in TRACY. Service was fast and polite and the ambiance was amazing. We tried this place recently and like it a lot. The flavor is so good. The food is hot and fresh. The egg drop soup they give there has sesame oil and is the best in town. My KIDS love it so much. We will be back soon.

Some of the better Chinese in Tracy but some dishes still have too much sugar in them.

Do they use MSG? Ate the chow fun, which was delicious but I had a really bad headache later.

When I say I have been eating at Happy Dragon for years, I mean over 30 years. We use to have the lunch special when we were in high school! Ownership has changed a few times, but I find the quality to be the same. My mom and I sat down a bit early for dinner. We had the dining room to ourselves for most of dinner. There were a handful of people that came in to order to-go and one gentleman that had dinner in and ordered the same thing to go. He raved about how good his plate was. We ordered the Chef's Special for the two of us, hot tea for her and iced tea for me. Our fried prawns and crab puffs came out first with a side of sweet and sour. Then some wonton soup was dropped on our table. Great flavor from the broth. Then came out the sweet & sour pork, pork chow mein, and pork fried rice. The service was fast. We ordered a soup to go and that came out about the time we were wrapping up. Took plenty of food home with us as the portions were huge. I thought our dinner was excellent, still my favorite Chinese food! There is construction going on outside, the shopping center is old and dated, they are doing roof repair. The interior of Happy Dragon is nothing special, but adequate for a good hot meal.

I happened to be in Tracy for business and after lunch had a craving for something sweet. Saw this…read moreplace across the parking lot and Googled it to see what it was all about. I've had seniorita bread before but didn't expect to get it here. Walked in and it's a small storefront that shares space with a boba tea shop. The lady was very nice. I ordered a 10 piece of seniorita bread so that I would have some to snack on later. It took a few minutes but she came back with my box and the bread was still warm. Not too sweet, buttery, delicious! I'll be back if I'm in this area again.

I didn't notice until I got home because the lid was clouded from condensation. Because I live far away, I called about it and offered to send a video. Instead of offering a refund, they said they'd allow me to come back for a new pie. I called months later to pick up the replacement pie since I was going to be in the area. They said they were out of buko pies and I could choose another--they apparently only had pies available at a lesser value and would comp with senorita bread. I also received a phone lecture from Joy (through Carmela) that this wouldn't be allowed next time... I'd prefer not being sold a moldy pie next time. Thanks! Upon pick up, they only offered the cassava pie ($7), even though buko pies were in the display. No senorita bread given as promised. Condescending service. They'll sell you food that can make you sick and make you out to be in the wrong. In retrospect, I shouldn't have bothered over $12. Ling Nam, please double check your fridge temperatures and throw out pies once they're old. Or sell them frozen.

Another deserving high quality spot for AAPI Heritage Month!…read more Visited Tracy Thai during Mother's Day and it was packed although still got seated immediately. Used to visit this spot often when I lived in Tracy before. Plenty of clean tables and nice setup inside as well as outside patio seating. Lots of street parking. Ordered several dishes: Panang chicken - sooo creamy good 5/5 Beef Pad Thai - very tasty! 4/5 Bok choy with shiitake mushrooms - love bok choy! 5/5 Garlic prawns - i always order this dish, it is so so delish! 5/5 Hot Thai tea - very refreshing Steamed rice The meal was very delicious! Took home leftovers yep yep And dessert to top it off. Fried banana with ube ice cream. Wow it was a big serving! It was so delectable but couldn't finish it all and took it to go. The server was very cool and friendly. When she took my order, she said she wants to sit and eat with me. So of course to be respectful, I invited her to have a seat and join me Lol ;) Will be back again soon. (My Mom was with me in spirit. This meal was after visiting my Mom's grave.)

RUDE encounter with GESA. The short Asian woman with bleached hair. I've been to this Thai…read morerestaurant before since pandemic and had terrible experience with GESA, we never came back, we decided to give it a try hoping service would be better. As soon as we walked in, we were seated at a table right by the entrance with the door left open, letting cold air continuously blow in, weather is 59F outside, my friend has a thyroid condition that makes her especially sensitive to cold, so we politely asked if we could move to an inner table. At the time, the restaurant was mostly empty (only a few tables occupied), so it didn't seem like a difficult request. When this server--who we later found out was named Gesa--brought our food, I kindly asked if we could relocate. Her response was immediately dismissive. Face looking so upset. She looked around as if the restaurant was full and then told us, in a raised and argumentative tone, that "it's cold everywhere even inside is close to the exit," (which is not true) repeatedly pushing back instead of trying to help. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational over a simple and reasonable request. What made it worse was how uncomfortable and unwelcome we were made to feel by GESA. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--just to be seated away from a cold draft, especially given a health concern. Instead of empathy or basic customer service, we were met with resistance and attitude by GESA the Asian service with bleached hair The food was fine, but the service completely overshadowed the experience. No customer should feel dismissed or argued with over something so simple. I hope management addresses this, especially regarding how Gesa handled the situation, because this kind of interaction drives customers away. Never coming back to this place!
